​Over the weekend, Nita Ambani attended the 2026 Screen Awards in Mumbai and presented Ranveer Singh with the Best Actor award. For the ceremony, she chose Sabyasachi’s Akashtara sari, a house signature from the designer’s Summer 2020 collection.. Crafted in glittering champagne gold, the ensemble is entirely hand-embroidered with sequins, creating a rich, textural surface that resembles a sandy desertscape. The blouse was simple, in a matching muted gold with a satin-like finish, keeping the silhouette clean. Ambani paired it with a micro bag from Chanel’s Fall/Winter 2025 runway, a singular oversized pearl with a circular metal handle, which added a sculptural, almost whimsical touch.. True to form, she didn’t hold back with the jewellery: statement earrings set with white and yellow diamonds, a matching bracelet, and a large pear-shaped solitaire ring. ​For the third anniversary of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre, Genelia Deshmukh wore a Rahul Mishra Couture gown from the designer’s Nargis Festive Couture 2024 collection, styled by Karisma Gulati. Set against a black base, the gown is densely worked with embroidered florals that climb across the full length in reds, pinks, lilacs, greens and muted metallic tones. The cut stays relatively direct, with a scooped neckline, slim straps and a long, narrow line that gives the embroidery room to dominate.. What stands out is the way the floral motifs are distributed. Instead of sitting in neat clusters, the embroidery travels upward in winding stems, with blooms, leaves and smaller details scattered across the full frame. The hem is especially dense, almost as though the surface gathers force towards the floor, while the low open back keeps the shape from feeling overly burdened.. Rahul Mishra has described Nargis as one of the most intricate collections from his atelier, realised over eight months with more than 1,200 embroidery artisans across villages in India. That level of labour comes through in the density and variation of the handwork, where colour, texture and motif keep shifting across the black ground.  

​We have all seen that photograph of young women posed against an autumn backdrop in skinny jeans, tall leather boots and brimmed hats. The internet christened it “Christian Girl Autumn” and then memed it to death. It was everywhere, eerily uniform and there always seemed to be a Pumpkin Spice Latte in hand. And we all know at least one person, plus their cousin, who adopted it wholesale.. The skinny jean has since been declared over, and the Katniss Everdeen boot retired to the archive of trends we now pretend we never touched. Or the cropped white T-shirt with wide-leg jeans, slick bun, tiny shoulder bag and trainers that have been aggressively workshopped to look accidental. This outfit would like you to believe it came together instinctually, that you simply got dressed and happened to emerge looking like a fully formed aesthetic.. Curious, then, how so many other people had the same spontaneous thought. Blindfold yourself and throw a pebble in any direction in Bandra or Hauz Khas. Your next five strawberry matchas are on me if you don’t hit at least three people wearing some version of this look. A ten-minute scroll on Instagram will confirm it just as efficiently.
