The actress said that it was upsetting to her that there were loud conversations about her weight, but not her strength. Hathaway revealed that Nolan had an in-depth conversation with her before filming. He stressed that he didn’t care about her weight loss, but that he wanted her to be able do all of her stunts. The 43-year old actress said that she learned her stunts with lots of practice. This included flipping backwards out of a glass window.
“I didn’t appreciate that the question was framed as ‘How much did you need to lose to play this role?’ and not ‘How strong were you required to be to play that role? “I didn’t like that the way into the question was, ‘How much weight did you have to lose?’ and not, ‘How strong did you have to get to play that part?”
