After a Pennsylvania State Police SWAT Team stormed Maryann Kohberger’s home in the Poconos, in December 2022 she told investigators that they made a “really bad mistake” and her suspected murderer was an “angel”. “They just arrested Bryan Kohberger who was accused of stabbing 4 University of Idaho undergrads at Moscow, Idaho. Three of the victims were asleep when they were attacked. According to a transcript of Maryann’s interview, published in Christopher Whitcomb’s new book “Broken Plea”, Maryann Kohberger said, “He’s an angel.” She spoke with them at the Pennsylvania State Police Fern Ridge Barracks, located in Blakeslee about eight miles away from the family’s home in Albrightsville. His mother confirmed that he was not dating anyone and had only “a few” girlfriends at the time. She admitted that her son had very few friends, but said she was grateful he had overcome his heroin addiction. She claimed that he was “making new friends” at WSU. She told them that he had few hobbies, was a late-night sleeper, and was very organized at work, but did not always clean up his room.
