BTS Return to MetLife Stadium for Full ARIRANG Show: Best Moments
BTS performed the two-and a-half hour version of their World Cup Final Semitime Show in New Jersey, just two weeks after the performance.
BTS performed “Dynamite”, on the bill with Madonna, Shakira Coldplay, Justin Bieber and other global stars, at the MetLife Stadium in New York City, less than two weeks before. The showmanship of BTS was on display for a few too short minutes, reminding everyone why the group belonged at the biggest stage in the universe.
BTS performed at the same venue on Saturday (1 August) for two-and-ahalf hours. BTS MetLife Night 1 was a non-stop showcase of ARIRANG, with almost every song performed from the Billboard 200 Chart-topper for multiple weeks plus classics and fan favorites. They only paused to say thank you for coming and showing up. The collective statement that the members made earlier in the week, announcing their decision to not enter music into this year’s Grammy Awards was absent. The ARMY had a lot to say and their messages were displayed on the Jumbotron.
BTS instead kept the mood upbeat, as RM told the crowd: “Whatever happens next, guys, ARMYs, I’m going to remain positive.” This love is something I won’t take for granted. Before blowing you a kiss, I said: “I hope you enjoyed yourself tonight. I love you a lot.”
RM, along with Jin Suga J-Hope Jimin V Jung Kook, Jin and Suga repeatedly framed this night as the second North American leg of the World Tour. BTS will perform at the MetLife Stadium on August 2nd, and then head to Boston. The leg is concluded with four nights in Los Angeles’ SoFi Stadium during September.
Read on to discover our top 15 moments from the MetLife Stadium’s first ARIRANG World Tour night. From the celebration of Korean culture, to the Nas shout-out.
ARIRANG Aura before the show
BTS’s mission of spreading more Korean culture through ARIRANG was evident even before the concert began. The concert featured compositions that used traditional Korean instruments, such as “Hanyang”, by CelloGayageum. (The duo is made up of Sol Daniel Kim, Dayoung Yuon, and Dayoung Kim who both play the cello and gayageum. As their name suggests, they also perform on the gayageum) and Park Dawool’s “GeomunToy”, which was paired with stunning black, white, and gray artwork displayed across the 360-degree LED screens at
BTS is keeping their promise of spreading culture by promoting pre-show merch, activating on site and assembling ARMYs ahead of time. Concertgoers are treated to the songs they love while waiting for their show to begin.
Medley “SWIM/Merry Go Round
BTS has received a lot of criticism for their decision not to submit to the upcoming Grammy Awards. However, they did a one-two-punch performance with ARIRANG’s “SWIM”, followed by “Merry Go Round”. This was a show-worthy performance. BTS performed two tracks of medium tempo surrounded by dancers who held long flowing cloths to create a wave-like effect. The ocean blues were used for “SWIM”, and the pinks and violets appeared on “Merry Go Round”.
J-Hope, RM and Kevin Parker’s falsetto-heavy track “Merry Go Round”, which was produced by Parker, had a palpable emotional effect.
It was made even better by the audience shouting out a fanchat at the end of the song.
Jimin goes gray and slays
Jimin’s last performance at the World Cup Final Semi-Final Halftime Show was at MetLife less than two months ago, when he dazzled with his blonde hair tucked in a low bun. Jimin wore the same long hairstyle for his return to the New Jersey Stadium, but with gray shades that gave him an aura of a princely performer. It’s impossible to pick a single moment when his hair was at its best, because it stayed glossy and full throughout the entire show. Look at the group pictures taken before and after their concert.
Act II: Taegeuk Symbolism
The second act began with a visual tribute to Korea. A light circle resembling the taegeuk (red and blue) on the South Korean national flag encircled the stage. Taeguk is a symbol of harmony, bringing together negative (the blue part) and positive (the red part) forces. This was displayed to thousands in a stadium before ARIRANG’s “2.0”.
V’s funny Fail during “NORMAL
BTS’s brotherly bonding is one of the most enjoyable parts of watching them live. While there were many playful moments like the guys spraying each other with water bottles, the funniest had to be when V was actively trying to get RM’s attention during the performance of “NORMAL.” At one point, V threw the beanie cap he was wearing at RM, who was dancing nearby and unaware of his bandmate, with V calling out, “RM…Namjoon…hey…hey!” into his mic while the group sang — hilariously, all to no avail.
The “Not Today’s” hits harder
The performance of “Not Today”, the single from 2017, was a unique mix, with heavy percussion, and tribal-sounding drums. This gave the original hip-hop/moombahton mix even more power. RM clearly felt the track and brought more vigor when he shouted out the anthemic song’s intro: “All underdogs of the world/ It may be a day when we will lose/ But today, we fight.”
The Choreo and the “MIC Drop Moment”
MetLife Stadium was a fan of the full-fledged dance routines that BTS performed.
The guys performing the entire stage routine of the 2017 hit song “MIC Drop”, especially with Jimin at the centre, leading the choreography during the chorus, received a lot of attention from the audience. BTS’s ease and fluidity in executing their routines on stage is what keeps them at the top.
The FYA/Fire Heat
One could imagine the excitement that the crowd would feel when BTS played “FYA” during their tour. BTS combined the Jersey-club inspired cut with their 2016 single “Fire” to give a performance so hot that the reporter’s area of the stadium began shaking.
BTS were also impressed with the energy of the audience. Jin commented after the show, “ARMY you ate this.”
The “Body” is Beautiful: Diversity in its Diverse Form
The ARIRANG album’s “Body to Body”, which combines the Korean folk song named for the album with a futuristic pop/rap sound, is one of the biggest cultural statements in pop music this year. The tour’s performances highlighted BTS global reach as BTS fans in hanboks of all ages, colors, sizes, and shapes were displayed on the large LED screens.
The ARMY sends their message
Fans were given the opportunity to display their own signs before the encore segment of the show. ARMY was not short on words. The audience clapped their approval for signs with messages aimed at the Grammy Awards after BTS announced they wouldn’t be attending the ceremony.
J-Hope shares his Spidery sense
J-Hope revealed that he went with Jung Kook to the theaters on Friday, just as he was visiting Spider-Man’s hometown of New York. He even did his best imitation of Spidey’s web-shooter, which sounded like an action movie effect.

‘DWTS’ Gleb Savchenko Calls Ex’s Claim Authorities Are Searching for Him a ‘Total Lie’
Gleb Savichenko has responded to his ex-wife’s claims that authorities were trying to find him with their daughter. He called the claim a “total lie” in a recent court filing.
According to documents obtained by TMZ from the court, the pro “Dancing with the Stars”, Elena Samodanova, knows where he is and where his 15-year old daughter Olivia lives. Elena Samodanova and Olivia, he says, have also spoken to each other several times after Olivia’s decision to stay in California.
Gleb takes particular issue with Elena’s claim earlier that the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office “took steps” to find him and Olivia.
This characterization, he says falsely implies that he is hiding from authorities with his daughter… calling this “simply outrageous” and a complete lie.
Gleb claims that their daughter has reached the age of 16 and is choosing to restrict contact with her mom. He says Olivia decided to change her own phone number and not give Elena that new number.
Elena reported that Olivia had been supposed to come back to Hong Kong on July 9, but she never returned. Elena says that she is able to reach Olivia via Instagram, but does not have her address.

DGA and IATSE Urge Rob Bonta to Settle With Paramount
Directors Guild of America (DGA) and IATSE, the California attorney general’s union, are calling on Rob Bonta of California to resolve his antitrust case with Paramount. They argue that continued uncertainty regarding Warner Bros. is detrimental. Discovery merger will hurt the industry.
On Wednesday, the two unions sent a letter of request to Bonta as well as Paramount Skydance’s CEO David Ellison. They urged both sides to reach an agreement which would address their concerns about harms to competitiveness.
The two unions expressed their concern about the impact that a delayed decision on the merger proposal would have on the members of the respective unions and the entire industry.
This letter places the unions in conflict with the Writers Guild of America which has filed a separate antitrust lawsuit to attempt to stop the merger. This antitrust lawsuit has caused divisions in the movie industry. Both Regal Cinemas, AMC Theatres, and Cinema United have all backed the merger.
Bonta, along with a coalition consisting of 12 state attorneys general, filed a lawsuit in July to stop the merger. They argued that it would create an illegal concentration in the markets for basic cable distribution and the theatrical market. Araceli Martinez Olguin, a judge in California, issued a temporary order halting the merger. Last week, a trial date of March 2, four months after Paramount had preferred, was set.
Ellison is trying to get Bonta at the table to negotiate. He has also been working on rallying support within the film industry for this deal. Bonta repeatedly stated that he was not interested in “behavioral remedies” — like a promise to release thirty movies per year within a 45 day window — and is instead focused on structural solutions, something Paramount is unwilling to consider.
Russell Hollander was the national executive director for the DGA and Matthew Loeb the IATSE international president signed the letter. In the letter, it is argued that the trial date of March 2, 2019 will be “damaging” for an “already-struggling industry”.
The letter says that the merger proposal is making things worse for our members, who are struggling to find work. We are aware that productions have been put on hold, or even canceled completely. This has led to a further decrease in the amount of work available for our members.
In the letter, the unions urge the two parties to reach an agreement on certain conditions. Many of these Paramount already accepted, including the requirement that the studios continue to operate as two separate companies, each producing at least fifteen films per year. They also ask Paramount to commit to continuing licensing outside content at the same level as it was before the merger.
The unions will urge both the states and Paramount to accept an earlier date for the trial if they cannot come to a compromise. Paramount was eager to have a faster timeline. However, states requested time from the judge to obtain documents and depose Paramount executives in order to strengthen their case.

Mark Consuelos reveals his divorce dealbreaker with Kelly Ripa
Mark Consuelos has a dog that he believes is a deal breaker in divorce proceedings.
The co-host of “Live with Kelly & Mark” joked that it would be better to remain married with Kelly Ripa in an “unlovely marriage” than have their dog Lena separated.
The couple discussed the issue during a pre-recorded episode on Aug. 11, which was recorded before Ripa left for an extended leave of absence to recover from her gum graft operation. The couple talked about the Pennsylvania legislation that could change the way pets are treated in divorce cases.
Ripa said that, if the legislation is passed, it will “recognize animals as family members and elevate their status when situations like divorce occur.” After the conversation, they began to wonder what might happen to Lena in case their marriage ended.
Consuelos 55 made it very clear that he would not take losing his dog well. “I mean, listen. Just put it like this. Consuelos stated, “I would remain in an unhappy marriage to be able to spend every day with Lena.” That’s how much Lena means to me.
Ripa did not seem to be bothered at all by the hypothetical arrangement her husband had made. Is that what you want, a marriage without love? The talk show host said, “That can be arranged.” Before declaring the marriage to be done.
Consuelos went a little further with the joke, saying he’d “stay awake at night” thinking of Lena, if they split up. Ripa responded in a playful way that he might “wonder if she was being petted by another man.”
People magazine reports that the couple adopted Lena in March 2021, after seeing her on an adoption segment of “Live.” Lena is a Maltese-Shih Tzu cross. Ripa, Consuelos and the dog fell in love with her during the broadcast. They later adopted the pup into their home. Lena is now a regular presence on both the show and in the lives of the couple. She makes frequent cameos.
Consuelos had a rescue dog named Chewie who passed away in 2025, aged 17. Ripa was emotional when she announced Chewie’s passing on her show. She reflected on Chewie’s place within their family.
