The U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) Civil Rights Division has opened an antisemitism probe into the University of Washington following a fundraiser hosted by a student group for the “Lebanese Resistance” group. Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights Harmeet dhillon announced this Monday. Tomorrow, a SUPER UW student group will hold a fundraiser for the “Lebanese Resistance.” This group has a long history of violent antisemitic activities on the University of Washington campus,” Dhillon wrote in X Monday. “On Friday, a Civil Rights Investigation of UW’s handling antisemitism was authorized!” The Washington State Standard reported that the school event went so far as to ask Facebook to stop the group from using the UW name.
