Since joining Floify in 2019, Barber has played a key role in shaping the company’s product strategy and expanding the capabilities of its POS platform to better serve lenders and borrowers. Her leadership has helped drive Floify’s continued growth and a customer satisfaction rating of 98.2%, while introducing new capabilities designed to simplify workflows, reduce costs and expand access to home financing.

Barber led the development of Dynamic Apps, a no-code feature that enables lenders to tailor loan applications by loan type. She followed that with Dynamic AI, an AI-driven capability that prioritizes document collection before the loan application, allowing AI-driven data extraction and validation to pre-populate borrower applications. Most recently, she guided Dynamic Apps 2.0 to market, enabling lenders to tailor application flows by loan type, including HELOC, construction, ag, non-QM and more.

Barber has also been instrumental in advancing borrower-centric innovation across the platform, helping make Floify the first mortgage POS to offer fully translated loan applications, ADA-compliant borrower interfaces and direct automated underwriting system (AUS) support for on-time rent payment data through Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

Beyond her professional contributions, Barber is active in her community, volunteering with Habitat for Humanity in Boulder and serving as a volunteer judge for the Colorado Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA), where she mentors and encourages the next generation of business leaders.

“Sydney has an exceptional ability to translate complex industry challenges into technology that makes life easier for lenders and borrowers alike,” said Joshua Steffan, SVP and Group General Manager at Porch Group and Interim President and General Manager of Floify. “This recognition from MBA reflects the impact she’s already making across the mortgage ecosystem, and we’re incredibly proud to see her honored among the industry’s rising leaders.”

Dolby Theatre Hollywood, Home of the Academy Awards®, to Soon Be Powered by On-Site Renewable Energy Beginning in 2027

LOS ANGELES, Calif., March 5, 2026 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — The Dolby Theatre in Hollywood announced today a major sustainability milestone: the 2027 Oscars ceremony and all other events and concerts starting in 2027, will be supported by on-site renewable energy and related infrastructure, marking a significant leap towards reducing the environmental footprint of one of the world’s most recognized venues. A similar project is expected at a later date at the TCL Chinese Theatre.

Dolby THEATRE
Image caption: Dolby THEATRE logo.

The Solar and Storage deployment will support multiple operations spanning both the iconic TCL Chinese Theatre and the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, with future plans to also power the entire Ovation mall and attached Loews Hollywood Hotel.

The initiative includes the installation of advanced solar photovoltaic systems and battery energy storage designed to supply locally generated renewable power and enhance energy resilience during major live broadcasts.

“As a global cultural institution, the owners of The Dolby Theatre and the TCL Chinese Theatre, the importance of responsible leadership,” said a representative of the owners. “Transitioning our flagship events, which also include The Espy Awards, PaleyFest, iHeart Radio Awards and more, toward on-site renewable energy reflects our long-term commitment to sustainability and innovation.”

Visionary Hollywood producer and real estate developer Elie Samaha and his investors made the announcement to reflect a lifelong commitment to renewables. “We’ve been working on this for years now and it’s finally coming together; we will implement these technologies across multiple locations in Hollywood and also in our Theater Box complex in San Diego. It’s time for the entertainment and hospitality industries to adopt renewable energy in all of its flagship events.”

INFRASTRUCTURE OVERVIEW

The multi-site clean energy deployment will include:

  • High-efficiency solar photovoltaic installations
  • Battery energy storage systems to manage peak demand and support load stability.
  • Integrated controls to optimize energy use during high-demand live production events

The systems are designed to reduce reliance on grid electricity during peak operations while providing long-term operational resilience for the venues.

To deliver the infrastructure, theatre ownership selected Zero Impact Solutions, a California-based clean energy integrator specializing in commercial-scale solar and battery energy storage systems.

“Large-scale live events require reliability and precision engineering,” said a spokesperson for Zero Impact Solutions. “Our role is to design and deploy distributed energy systems capable of supporting mission-critical operations while advancing long-term sustainability goals.”

A MODEL FOR SUSTAINABLE LIVE EVENTS

Live global broadcasts require significant electrical demand for lighting, production, broadcasting, and audience operations. Integrating solar generation with on-site battery storage creates a scalable model for reducing event-related emissions while maintaining performance standards expected by international audiences.

The battery energy storage component of the project is expected to qualify under California’s Self-Generation Incentive Program, supporting the state’s broader strategy to accelerate distributed energy resources.

Dolby’s transition toward renewable infrastructure reflects a growing movement across the entertainment industry to reduce environmental impact while preserving operational excellence.

LONG-TERM VISION

Beyond the 2027 worldwide special events, the clean energy systems will remain in place to serve the venues year-round, reinforcing long-term sustainability objectives and strengthening energy resilience within Hollywood’s entertainment district.

Additional details regarding project milestones and completion timelines will be announced as development progresses.

ABOUT ZERO IMPACT SOLUTIONS

Zero Impact Solutions is a California-based clean energy infrastructure company specializing in the engineering, procurement, and construction of integrated EV Charging, solar and battery energy storage systems for commercial and institutional clients.

Slate Watch Company Showcases Two Modern Dive Watches for Performance and Everyday Wear

PALM BEACH, Fla., March 5, 2026 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Slate Watch Company is highlighting two dive watch models for 2026, the Lapizta Izurus Diver Chronograph and the Lapizta Audax Diver, as part of its continued focus on functional, modern timepieces.

Lapizta Izurus 300M WR 48MM Black Dial Gold Chronograph Dive Watch
Image caption: Lapizta Izurus 300M WR 48MM Black Dial Gold Chronograph Dive Watch.

Dive watches remain a key category in the watch industry, combining utility with everyday wearability. While established brands continue to lead the market, independent retailers and emerging manufacturers are expanding options for consumers seeking contemporary designs and accessible price points.

The Lapizta Izurus Diver Chronograph features a large case and bold design, paired with a Japanese Miyota OS20 quartz chronograph movement. The watch includes chronograph timing functions, a 24-hour subdial and a date display. It is rated for 300 meters of water resistance and includes a unidirectional bezel and reinforced crystal for durability.

Despite its size, the Izurus is designed for daily wear, with an ergonomic case and flexible silicone strap. Its dial emphasizes legibility, with high-contrast elements intended for both underwater use and everyday conditions.

The Lapizta Audax Diver offers a more streamlined design, with a 43 mm case suited for a wider range of wrist sizes. The model features a brown dial with gold-tone accents, providing an alternative to traditional dive watch colorways.

Like the Izurus, the Audax is rated for 300 meters of water resistance and includes a screw-down crown. The watch is designed to transition between casual and more formal settings while maintaining its core functionality as a dive watch.

According to Slate Watch Company, both models reflect a shift toward watches that prioritize durability, readability and versatility over purely collectible appeal.

Both models are available at: https://slatewatchcompany.com/.
