TMZ caught Mariah Carey in the middle of her rant after the 2026 Rock Hall Class was announced. She seemed unbothered. When asked directly by the publication if she was disappointed that she wasn’t included this year, Mariah Carey replied “no”.
Carey, who is known to show her love for her loyal fanbase, The Lambs, always, said: “I love my Fans.” She also added bluntly to her feelings about the Hall of Fame insult. “Who cares? Give it to someone else. Fantastic.”
This year’s class includes Sade, Luther Vandross and Wu-Tang Clan.

Carey’s dissatisfaction became apparent in an exclusive interview with Los Angeles Times when she was asked about her feelings regarding not being inducted into the Hall of Fame for the first time in the year 2024.
She said, “My thoughts were: I didn’t make it,” at the time. “Everyone was calling me and saying, ‘I believe you’re going to get in!’ I was excited. Then it didn’t work out. “My lawyer [Allen Grubman] was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame earlier than me.”

Billboard published an interview with Mariah Carey in January 2026.
Carey told the outlet that she has always worked hard because “I knew [from the beginning] that I wanted be here for a very long time.” I have learned to be true to myself. And I was lucky enough to be able do that. “There were some things that weren’t perfect along the way, but here I am.”
The Grammy winner revealed that her three goals with her music “to love and heal” have remained constant over her career.
“I’ve tried to incorporate messages in my songs like Make It Happen’ or Hero’,” she explained. “It is a very interesting thing to be able give back this way. I didn’t have money when I was growing up. “And if you were raised like me, then it means even more that you can give back.”
Carey is widely known for her diva ways on and off stage, as well as for her endless hits, which other artists would kill to have. However, she says that calling her a “legend” is not something she embraces.
“Everyone has their own little meaning for what they say,” she said to the outlet. “But I wouldn’t call myself legend. I’m still working and trying hard.”
Carey also shared why giving back is so important to her.

Carey told Billboard, that everyone should give back to others after her partnership with LGBT+ organization GLAAD in December 2025 to auction her “Protect The Dolls’ jacket to support trans community.
Carey said, “We should all do our best to give something back.” “And it’s important to do more than just that.” Sometimes I’m too busy with my schedule, so it isn’t as much as it could be. “But it’s an important part of my daily life.”
This sentiment extends to the long-running Camp Mariah for children aged 12-15, the same program that was the location of her iconic 1995 music clip “Always Be My Baby.”
“It was a huge experience for me, because most of these children had never been outside of their own block,” the chart-topper remarked about the three-week camp. “That’s the reason we do it every year.” I talk to the children so they can learn what they can do with their lives.
