Celeste Rivas parents were horrified to see images in court of their daughter’s decapitated, mutilated and dismembered corpse.
The family of the 14-year old refused to comply with their lawyer’s order that they look away when the shocking pictures were shown in the Los Angeles courtroom on the first trial day.
After viewing the severed fingers, heads, and torso of their daughter, the couple started to cry in the hallway of the courthouse.
A LAPD detective who was a homicide investigator testified about the discovery of Rivas’ body revealed disturbing details.
Joshua Byers, a detective at the time, recalled: “There were maggots and there were flies.” I don’t even know what to call the liquid substance.
The photos show the dismembered bodies of several young girls, with arms, legs, torso and head in trash bags, as well as severed fingers and hands.
Byers stated that the trunk was opened and a body bag was partially undzipped with torso, head and a torso. Missing extremities were present at that time.
Rivas parents were seated only a few feet away from D4vd when the evidence was shown.
The D4vd murder trial has been moved several times due to the large amount of evidence that prosecutors have uncovered. This includes lab reports, police report, photos, videos, and arrest reports.
On April 16, D4vd, real name David Burke was taken from his house in handcuffs by LAPD.
The California Post obtained video footage showing the singer leading by police down a Hollywood Hills residential street with his arms behind his back.
He was charged as well with murder in the first degree with circumstances – lying in wait for a victim, killing a witness during an investigation or murdering someone to gain financial benefit.
The charges against him included lewd, lascivious and sexual acts on a person under the age of 14 and mutilating human remains.
The California Post obtained legal documents that show D4vd had ordered an Uber for Rivas to be delivered from Lake Elsinore, where her family lived, to Hollywood Hills on April 23rd 2025.
Prosecutors claim that he then stabbed the woman and stood aside while she died.
Burke, according to the documents, ordered two chainsaws from Amazon and they were delivered by Postmates. He ordered from Amazon two chainsaws that were then delivered to his house. On May 5, according to documents, Burke allegedly purchased a bodybag, heavy duty laundry bags, and an inflatable blue pool.
Burke, the documents claim, allegedly used the chainsaw to remove Rivas’ limbs and placed her body in the inflatable blue pool so that her blood wouldn’t make a mess of his garage floor.
The death penalty is a possibility for the singer. The singer has pleaded innocent to all the charges.

The SEC won thirteen national championships in the past academic year, surpassing its previous record.

Sankey’s opening remarks were peppered with references to the SEC’s stance regarding Congressional involvement in the college football world, as well as his conviction that NIL is desperately in need of more transparency. When asked if the NIL had ever discussed essentially separating from the NCAA, Sankey answered with a firm response. He said, “So it’s real.” People have spoken about it. People have expressed their frustration to the point that they feel we need to do something else. This is not a point of leverage. “I think it’s honest communication.”
If we are being honest about leverage then it is only fair to say that SEC has, for the moment, less. The SEC’s identity crisis is not going away anytime soon.
This could be the beginning of an important transition in the SEC. The coaches will each take the podium in suits and ties matching their team colors to present their arguments for this season. Six* are new – Alex Golesh, Jon Sumrall, Will Stein, Ryan Silverfield, Pete Golding, and Lane Kiffin*.
The slight decline in the SEC coincides with Nick Saban’s retirement and the steep fall of some traditional power bases. Auburn, once the SEC’s bulwark, has had five seasons of losing and averaged 6,9 victories per year after its 2013 title. Florida won two national championships under Urban Meyer and has had four different head coaches in that time. None of them have finished higher than the sixth place.

PEOPLE reported that this sneak peek at Jennifer and Lynda’s European vacation comes just after the sisters made headlines by sitting front row during Paris Haute Couture Fashion Week. WASHINGTON, D.C. (AP) – Vice President JDVance and second lady UshaVance announced on Sunday the birth of the fourth child in their family, the first vice president to have a baby born for more than 150 year.
Alec Neel Vance, born Sunday, joins his older brothers and sisters Ewan (9) Vivek (6), Mirabel (4), all of whom are now in their teens.
Vance and his wife signed a social media statement to announce the baby’s birth.
We are happy to announce the birth of our son, Alec Neel Vance. The statement stated that Usha, the baby and their children were all healthy and happy.
The White House Medical team and Walter Reed National Military Medical Center staff were also thanked.
His growing family reflects his passion for encouraging Americans to have children. The vice president has said that Charlie Kirk’s death in 2025, whom he considered a friend, was a factor when deciding to have another baby.

Vance, an ex-U.S. Marine who began his political career by running for the U.S. Senate in Ohio in 2021, expressed concern about the declining birth rate in America. He said, as vice president in Washington, at the March for Life, an anti-abortion protest in 2025, that he wanted more babies born in the United States of America.
Usha Vance (40), the vice president’s wife, and the children have accompanied him on his overseas travels. The kids are often dressed in pajamas as the board Air Force Two overnight for their flights.
Usha Vance was already the focus of public attention because her husband is an Indian immigrant. The announcement of her pregnancy in January heightened the attention, as it’s rare that occupants at America’s highest levels of government add children to their family while they are serving.

The Times reported that Vance Miller Leavitt’s attention to their pregnancies “offers an image of idealized womenhood which gives literal form to the pronatalist movements” that encourage couples to have the most children possible in order to combat declining birthrates.
