Southwest Airlines is reaffirming its decades-long commitment to Las Vegas (LAS), and Orlando (MCO), by adding new flights starting this spring, and continuing until Spring 2027. Southwest Airlines Chief Operating Office Andrew Watterson said that Las Vegas and Orlando have been foundational communities for Southwest Airlines, where they have offered the best service, seats and nonstop travel options. “We are bringing more to both places and adding hundreds of flights per day to both communities.” Leading Las VegasSouthwest plans to launch new service between Las Vegas, Nevada, and 10 airports by Spring 2027. This will bring a record number of departures in the carrier’s 45th anniversary serving Las Vegas. Southwest plans to increase or introduce service on 26 out of 81 routes that serve Las Vegas.
Southwest’s daily operations in Orlando and Las Vegas are consistently among the top ten. These bases support Flight Crews, other work groups, such as technology, maintenance, and training, and create thousands of local jobs that combine flight and community service. Southwest Airlines employs 5,306 people in Las Vegas; more than 4,700 people work for the airline in Orlando.
