Chef groupies, brace yourselves: 70 internationally acclaimed chefs, food world luminaries, and more are coming to Utah this August. The Chef’s Table Festival will launch 100 events across 30 participating restaurants in Park City, over four days (August 13-16). The event will feature immersive experiences, demonstrations, and excursions with many chefs from the show. Chef’s Table Projects President Justin Connor says that the event is in partnership American Express and Resy. The festival invites guests to experience “a day in a life” of participating chefs, and engage with the local community. “We loved the fact that there were no large tents, long lines for small snacks, or plastic utensils,” he said, comparing Ein Prosit’s focus of tasting menus, food and wine master classes, and intimate experience to large-scale American festivals. The Chef’s Table Festival already has Argentinean chef and author Francis Mallmann, eighth-generation Italian Butcher Dario Cecchini, Peruvian restaurateur Virgilio Martnez, Alvaro Clavijo The Chef’s Table Festival has already tapped Argentine chef and author Francis Mallmann; eighth-generation Italian butcher Dario Cecchini; Peruvian restaurateur Virgilio Martinez; Alvaro Clavijo of Bogota’s El Chato, No. Other participating chefs include the legendary Nancy Silverton, Gaggan Anand, and Franco Pepe, who have all featured on the show and its spin-offs.Restaurateur and chef Nancy Silverton will be part of Chef’s Table’s inaugural food festival in Park City, Utah, in August.Photo courtesy of Chef’s TableGuests can “choose their own adventures” by purchasing different tiered packages and making selections from curated experiences, which include foraging, fly-fishing, butchery, cooking classes and more. Chef’s table concierge will then create bespoke weekend itineraries based on the ticket packages. “We wanted to put chefs in restaurant spaces and allow them to create new concepts for people to enjoy,” Connor explains. In an interview with Bon Apppetit, Gelb reflects back on the show’s remarkable run, including the nearly disastrous first episode. “[The festival] brings the experience of eating in these restaurants to one town. “While the festival promises intimate storytelling, cinematic views and unique surprises as well as intimate access to the chefs, Gelb & Connor hope that attendees will also walk away with a respect and appreciation for the hardwork that extends past the back of the house. “That is paramount and one of our most important qualities as humans.” We gather around the hearth to tell stories and eat.
