Tina Knowles has become the subject of unexpected online chatter, after she made a comment that some fans deem “too personal” on a post by her daughter Solange Knowles.
Social media users quickly analyzed the tone of the remark, and some suggested it implied favoritism towards Beyonce. Others said it was a mother making certain Solange did not feel overlooked.
Tina’s reflections from her past on raising daughters have also been revived by the viral moment. After noticing that their bond was strained by Beyonce’s early success, the Knowles family matriarch put them in therapy when they were children.

Tina has full-on “embarrassing mother” energy after leaving a deeply personal message under Solange’s most recent Instagram post.
The “Don’t Touch My Hair”, singer shared a series striking images centered on her hair. Some showed it partially shaved while others showed it styled in sculpted section with visible markings.
Tina’s answer stole the show.
“You look like a goddess from Egypt. It’s fitting that you were born on a boat traveling down the Egyptian Nile. She wrote: “Only you could shave off your hair, let it grow a little, and cut this incredible shape. And do all of that and still look as gorgeous as before.” She ended the message with emojis of fire and hearts.

Tina’s comment was not kept under wraps for long. Many social media users pointed out how personal Tina became.
Some interpreted it as harmless “mom-energy,” but others said the moment hinted at deeper dynamics between Solange, Beyonce and Jay Z.
“Ms. Tina didn’t want Solange feeling overshadowed or ignored by Beyonce. She’s always been open & intentional about going the extra-mile to make sure that she feels seen. She explained this to me a few times, that’s why she is so extra with her,” wrote one X user.
Another said, “She never conceals the fact that Solange’s her favorite. She still dreams about the day she was born and riding d*ck down the Nile.”
A third person added, “A mom would say that and then act like she doesn’t even have a favorite.”

Tina has been vocal about her hands on role in raising her girls for many years. She recently shed more light onto one of her proactive parenting decisions.
Tina revealed that she had both girls in therapy while they were very young after noticing the change in their relationship when Beyonce’s fame began to grow.
She explained, “I noticed she started getting irritated and didn’t want her around.” “And the more that she didn’t want to be around her, the sadder Solange became.”

Tina continued to explain that, once she realized the tension between her daughters she knew she would need outside help and went out to find it.
“One of my customers at my hair salon is a therapist and I asked her to help me find a child therapist.” She said, “I found someone and took my children to therapy.”
The decision was not unanimously supported by her circle.
Tina says that several family members were against the idea of therapy, especially given the stigma at the time.
“My family didn’t like it. She recalled that, “Especially in Black homes, they were like ‘You’ll make those children crazy'”.

Tina said that the decision ultimately paid off, and helped reshape Beyonce’s relationship with Solange during a critical period of their childhood.
“It opened Beyonce’s eyes.” She was like ‘This is me little sister. We’re going to always be close. I’m going take care of her and I’m never going to let our age difference separate us.
Their bond changed direction from that point forward.
