​More than half a century after astronauts last left footprints on the lunar surface, humanity is preparing to return to the moon. The excitement surrounding NASA’s Apollo program once captivated the world, and now NASA hopes to rekindle that same sense of wonder with its modern lunar effort, the Artemis program.. NASA’s Artemis II launch is scheduled for the first week of April. It’ll be the first human mission to the moon since 1972, and it should be quite the achievement for the Artemis program. Now, NASA has released a new tool that lets the public track Artemis II in real time.. The Artemis program is NASA’s long-term effort to return humans to the moon and establish a sustained presence there for the first time since the Apollo program. The program aims to land astronauts near the lunar south pole, develop new technologies for long-term exploration and use the moon as a stepping stone for future missions to Mars.. The Artemis Real-time Orbit Website, dubbed AROW, is already available to the public, although there isn’t much to see since the launch is still a few weeks away. It’s also available directly from the NASA app if you’re using a mobile device. The site lets the public visualize data collected by sensors on Orion and sent to the Mission Control Center at NASA’s Johnson Space Center in Houston.. The website is simple to navigate. You’ll see a visual representation of Artemis II’s progress, including its speed, distance from Earth and distance to the moon. Mobile app users get all of the above, along with an extra augmented reality tracker that lets you point your phone at the sky and see where Artemis II is relative to your position on Earth. It works much like Google Star Map and other stargazing apps that use similar technology.. According to NASA, tracking will be available once the Orion capsule separates from the rocket’s upper stage, which is expected about 3 hours after the upcoming April launch. The site will then update its information in real time for the entire 10-day mission.. NASA is also making flight data available for download so that people interested in creating their own content, such as visualizations or tracking apps, can do so. The data will include all sorts of things, including state vectors, which are data that “describe precisely where Orion is located and how it moves.” That same data will be used by NASA to study Orion and make improvements for future Artemis missions.. An exact launch date for Artemis II hasn’t been set, but the agency plans on launching the mission no earlier than April 1. The launch was originally scheduled for February, but it was delayed multiple times due to a hydrogen leak and a helium flow issue. NASA says it has since fixed both issues.

​Apple’s latest addition to its iPhone 17 lineup is the lower-cost iPhone 17E. Just like last year’s iPhone 16E, the iPhone 17E is priced at $599 and is meant to be Apple’s entry-level offering for the year. But the 17E has a number of upgrades over its predecessor, such as double the starting storage space at 256GB, MagSafe compatibility and a faster A19 chip.. It’s still fairly basic compared with the Air and the rest of the iPhone 17 lineup, though. The 17E only has one camera, no Dynamic Island and no Camera Control button. Also, even though it has a 12-megapixel selfie camera, the 17E lacks the Center Stage feature — which automatically switches between portrait and landscape — that’s on the Air and the rest of the iPhone 17 series.. Here’s how the iPhone 17E compares with the Air and the iPhone 17 lineup.. Watch this: iPhone 17E Packs More Features for the Same $599 Price. Design and display. With a 6.1-inch OLED display, the iPhone 17E has the smallest display compared with the rest of its siblings. Both the iPhone 17 and the 17 Pro have a slightly larger 6.3-inch display, while the iPhone Air has a 6.5-inch screen, and the 17 Pro Max has the biggest screen of them all with a 6.9-inch OLED display.. While the Air and the rest of the iPhone 17 models have a 120Hz variable refresh rate, the iPhone 17E is the only one with just a 60Hz refresh rate. That means the animations won’t be quite as smooth, and you won’t get an always-on display. However, if you’re upgrading from an older iPhone like the iPhone 16, you might not notice as big a difference.. Design-wise, the iPhone 17E lacks the Dynamic Island that’s on the Air and the rest of the iPhone 17 series. It doesn’t have a physical Camera Control button either.. It does, however, come in an aluminum frame and is protected by the Ceramic Shield 2, which is on par with the rest of the iPhone 17 lineup. The exception is the iPhone Air, which has a titanium frame. At 0.31-inch thick, the iPhone 17E is just as slender as the iPhone 17 — definitely not as skinny as the 0.22-inch thick iPhone Air. ​A new set of laws in Australia requiring adult websites and app stores to age-restrict content for those under 18, and requiring AI companies to restrict chatbot offerings from displaying certain types of sensitive or adult content to minors, is apparently driving many to download Virtual Private Network apps there.. Major adult sites have closed their virtual doors to those who aren’t age-confirmed in Australia, and these changes follow a nationwide ban on social media use by teenagers and young children that went into effect in December.. According to reports from Reuters, The Guardian and others, in response to the bans, downloads of VPN-related apps, which people can use to circumvent location-based restrictions, are sharply on the rise. According to Reuters, three of the 15 most downloaded free iPhone apps in the country were VPN-related as the new laws went into effect on Monday.. Lawmakers in some regions, including the US, are well aware that people use VPNs in this way. In states such as Michigan and Wisconsin, laws are being proposed to limit or outright ban VPN use. Wisconsin’s proposed law would require adult sites to block VPN traffic, while Michigan’s proposal would ban VPN use entirely in the state.. There is also a proposal in England under consideration to ban VPN use by minors. That proposal is currently under review.  

​You may be seeing more content on social media nowadays, but how much of it are you actually engaging with? Between new group and friend suggestions, suggested content and ads, you may be seeing less of what you love.. Buffer, a social media management platform, recently released a new data study, The State of Social Media Engagement in 2026. Buffer analyzed 52 million posts and over 191,000 monthly users and found that engagement on some of the most popular social media platforms declined last year.. Engagement rates on Instagram, LinkedIn and Threads declined last year compared with 2024, while Facebook, Pinterest and TikTok increased slightly. Only X posts saw significantly more engagement compared with last year. Buffer measured engagement as likes, replies and shares.. Why are certain platforms seeing a dip in engagement?. In 2025, there were more social media posts but less engagement. Posts doubled, even tripled, across most platforms, according to Buffer. Yet, half of the analyzed social media platforms saw a decline in user interaction last year compared with 2024. Buffer says algorithm updates, feature launches and user experience redesigns could be a few reasons. Engagement can also depend on who posts what and when.. But there are other factors worth considering.. Suggested content overload. Suggested content and ads don’t always align with our interests. And it seems like nowadays, we’re being fed more content that we may not be interested in. You might see more ads and reels from unfamiliar creators, making it harder to catch a family announcement or your friend’s vacation highlights.. AI-generated content increasingly floods our timelines, reducing human connections. After scrolling for so long, you may leave the app without engaging with the content you actually want to see.. Those changes impact the content you may see.. The European Commission has formally charged TikTok with breaching EU online content rules due to its addictive design. And Facebook’s algorithm change last year was designed to show you reels you’ll like, even if they’re AI-generated. Those changes can lead you to engage less with the content you want.. Different content types. The type of content you see on each platform may be more or less engaging to you.. For example, Buffer found that carousels get more engagement on LinkedIn compared to videos and photos, whereas Reels are more popular on Instagram than carousels. And that’s no surprise, considering Instagram’s big push for Reels, including its availability on Fire TV.. How to personalize your social media algorithm.
