“When I first started out, i thought if i was really hard on my self, i’d be a much better artist,” she told PEOPLE, after being named as the magazine’s ‘World’s Most Beautiful’ Cover Star. “And then, turning 40, a new gear clicked into place, and a life that was awkward was no longer appealing to me.” I wanted to get to the fun part.

Hathaway now says that she is done putting pressure on herself and wants to enjoy the moment. She said, “I am at a point in my life where stress is not something I want to focus on.”

She’s embracing joy and surrounding herself with people that bring her laughter and honesty. “Humor.
