Horoscope Today: April 8, 2026

It is about getting things done. Taurus you tend to swing in extreme zones—extreme passivity to extreme action. Now may be the time to roll up those sleeves for your ‘spring’ cleaning. Be it your home, your life, your actions, your thoughts, beliefs or anything else it is time to clean the mess up and get going. Safeguard what you have and then continue to test your ideas in small proportions. Leo, you may want to conquer the world but really think about it, is giving up on what you have already built for yourself the only way to do this? Or can you also synergise your future ideas with your current expertise and authority? Understand your forte and then capitalise on it. Gemini, it is one thing knowing that you are good at something and another thing actually doing something about it. For those of you at a crossroads—personally or professionally, try assessing what it is that you feel you do better than others. Either your ideas can land or they can fizzle out. Libra, your mind is sharp and often it moves faster than your ability to act and hence you feel trapped in a circle that makes you feel worthless and probably even stuck. Take good care of yourself, Pisces. It is important to build, it is important to make sure things are working out smoothly enough, but it is also important to really take the time to nurture yourself. Take tiny steps towards big goals but take them consistently.. Read on for what the stars have in store for you, and make sure you check out your sun, moon and rising signs for the complete picture.. Aries, this energy vortex is about getting straight to the point. Shut that noise out. Set your phone on silent and simply get things going. The challenge is that you may have been prolonging the start because you have an idea of perfection. However, once you begin things begin to flow. Ideas multiply and you plummet through challenges and victories with equal ease. Be it your love life, your career, your personal growth or anything else—it is deeply linked with your passion so hey, get that spark back on.. Cosmic tip: Reflect but to gain a perspective so that you can begin acting.. Sure it may feel like a juggle between multiple worlds and priorities. But is it something that will hold you back? Nope, quite the contrary—it will help you shine.

Triptii Dimri’s Maria Lucia Hohan dress finds its shape in pleated pink silk

Triptii Dimri’s Maria Lucia Hohan dress does not rely on colour alone. Its real argument lies in the pleating. The pink silk mousseline is drawn, crossed and tightened across the front so that the fabric gathers itself into shape. The result is a gown that starts in sweetness and then pulls away from it.. The Milagros dress is cut with a deep halter neckline and a front that wraps over itself in diagonal bands. Those pleated sections meet and cross at the waist, creating the point of tension that gives the gown its form. From there, the fabric loosens into a longer skirt with a front slit, while the back opens into a lace-up fastening and long trailing ties that fall from the neck. You can see how much of the dress depends on that contrast: the front is all gathered direction, the back is left open and trailing. Even the pink shifts as the fabric folds, moving between pale blush and a brighter rose.. Jewellery from Tanishq stays in the same rosy family, with pink stones set in gold across the earrings, pendant necklace, bracelet and rings. The Aquazzura heels are kept light and barely there enough not to draw attention away from the dress.. Hair by Madhuri Nakhale is worn in loose side-parted waves that sit over one shoulder, which suits the movement of the gown. Makeup by Shraddha Naik keeps to a glossy, sunlit finish, with lined eyes, flushed cheeks and a pink-nude lip.. The fabric is airy, but the gathering gives it direction. The colour is sweet, but the cut is sharper than that. You look at it once for the pink, and then again for everything the pleating is making the fabric do.

These ’90s jeans are about to be everywhere this summer

Not long ago, it was all about slouchy silhouettes and puddling hems. Street-stylers wore jeans that swallowed their shoes—the look we all remember from the summer of ’24, when a little triangle of boot poked out from beneath denim. Now the mood has shifted. Straight-leg denim has become the dominant silhouette, and cropped styles are right up there with them: ankle grazers loved by ’90s icons from Carolyn Bessette Kennedy to Jennifer Aniston to Julia Roberts.

It should come as no surprise that ’90s cropped jeans are back in the spotlight. After the release of Love Story, there was a CBK-inspired frenzy, with cropped jeans worn regularly by the star herself—Levi’s 517s, with a bootcut silhouette and a hem that hits just above the ankle. Cropped jeans have also started to appear on recent runways; Celine’s Spring/Summer 2026 show sent models down the catwalk in cropped jeans that flashed ankle socks and jazz derbies. Still, nailing the perfect hem is tricky. “It can be tricky to find the perfect hemline, that hits the ankle just so and ensures the proportions are balanced,” Mai Morsch wrote for Vogue last month. “A length that’s too high can look unintentional, but when the jeans aren’t cropped enough they look like they don’t fit properly.” I lean Levi’s—because the fits rarely fail me—but with any jeans, it pays to know your exact measurements before you buy. And the upside? These cuts actually show off your shoes.

As a practical note, cropped jeans pair especially well with footwear, from sneakers to more structured shoes. For example, Blue Solid Tapered Fit Mom Jeans are listed at ₹9,500, now ₹5,700, while Guess Mid Blue Embro Solid Mom Jeans come in at ₹8,999, now ₹5,399.

Struggling to relax? Here are 5 easy ways to stimulate your vagus nerve

Let’s be honest, most of us are walking around dysregulated. We’re tired, overstimulated, constantly switched on and still telling ourselves, “I don’t have the time to slow down and reset.” But what if the key to shifting from a state of high alert to a sense of calm wasn’t a week-long retreat, but a single nerve tucked inside your body?. What is the vagus nerve?. Meet the vagus nerve, or cranial nerve X: the longest nerve in the body and a powerful link between your brain and the organs that regulate stress, rest and recovery. Think of it as a communication superhighway. It runs from the brainstem through the face, throat, heart and lungs, all the way to the digestive system, connecting many of the body’s major organs along the way.. As a primary component of the parasympathetic nervous system (the branch of your nervous system involved in restoring baseline function after stress), the vagus nerve acts as your internal regulator. When you reach ‘ventral vagal,’ a state of regulation, you recover from stress faster, sleep more deeply and even digest your food better. When things go south into a ‘dorsal vagal’ state, you might notice heightened anxiety, brain fog or extreme fatigue.. Why and how does the vagus nerve need to be stimulated?. The vagus nerve is activated by cues of safety such as slow breathing, vocal vibration, gentle movement and even cold exposure to the face. Stimulating it helps shift the body out of fight-or-flight mode and into a more regulated state, slowing the heart rate, supporting digestion and making it easier to feel calm, focused and restored. Activating it can be a simple way to help the body return to balance.. Below, we break down five expert-backed ways to stimulate your vagus nerve at home, no special skills required.. Slow diaphragmatic breathing. This is arguably the most evidence-supported technique for at-home regulation. “By consciously slowing your breath to about 5-6 breaths per minute, You can improve heart rate variability (HRV) — the beat-to-beat variation in cardiac timing, often used as an indicator of stress resilience and recovery capacity,” says Dr Varun Veer, founder of Lifeyoga. “In yogic practice, pranayama has always been a primary tool to regulate the nervous system,” he adds. For a quick reset, try the 4-7-8 pattern: inhale for 4 counts, hold for 7, exhale for 8.. Expert Rating: 5/5. Cold exposure. Exposure to cold environments triggers the diving reflex — the body’s built-in survival response to cold water, which quickly slows the heart rate and redirects blood toward vital organs — causing a measurable drop in heart rate within seconds. “You don’t need a full ice plunge; splashing cold water on the face or finishing a shower with a 30-second cold rinse are both practical, accessible options,” says Dr Melissa Luis, sports physiotherapist and consultant at SMRC Hospital. “Full-body immersion may not be for everyone because it can activate both, the sympath

I finally started telling my friends that I can’t afford their weddings

Buzz. Let’s add another activity. Buzz. And another night at the Airbnb. Buzz. Have you got my bank details? Buzz. The gift registry link is on the wedding website. Buzz. I think we need to make it even more special! Buzz.. …the texts keep coming, each notification adding to the spiralling bill of another bachelorette party. Anxious nausea is crawling up my throat as I do the mental gymnastics—£40 (₹4,965) here, a £100 (₹12,414) there, another £20 (₹2,482) over here, and that’s all before the actual wedding. I want to make it work, I need to, but no amount of girl math is making this add up. Looks like it’s back to the credit card for the third wedding in a row.. I press and hold the delete button on my phone—I can’t afford this—and type: whatever you guys think is best.. Welcome to being the friend who can’t afford anything, not even your lovely wedding. The one who stretches her credit card balance to attend their friends’ weddings, who stays silent because it’s better than facing the equal evils of pity or judgment. The shame of being the friend in the lowest tax bracket in a country that never wants to talk about money is debilitating, especially as peak wedding season approaches.. In the UK, guests typically spend, on average, £451 (₹55,990) per wedding they attend, including accommodation, outfits and gifts. The cost skyrockets for those attending the double-billing of the wedding and the hen/stag do, which can push the cost of attending the whole wedding over £1000 (₹1,24,150). International hen dos can skyrocket into the thousands. When the average income in the UK is £39,039 (₹48,46,664), and many people earn well below that, a couple of weddings a year can leave some of us scrabbling for loose change in the sofa–sadly, I’ve discovered, a lost cause in the age of digital wallets.. Of course, many people plan weddings and consider the financial implications for their attendees. However, with how awkward Brits are about finances, especially those with the money, it gets tricky. I’ve attended countless weddings, often with a negative bank balance, yet I’ve rarely felt able to say that out loud. I don’t want to dampen someone’s joy just because I need three to six months to save up to attend.. The thing is, once people achieve financial security, some forget that it’s not a blanket benefit for everyone in their social circle. That shield of “okayness” for them morphs into a thorn-tipped fence for those of us struggling to cover our bills, mainly because it feels impossible to bring up the topic. No matter how safe we feel with people, having to be the miser who advocates for frugality, or says “I can’t afford it”, is uncomfortable at best.

As promised, Gorillaz are coming to India in 2027

When Vogue India interviewed Gorillaz in January, ahead of the launch of their India-inspired album, The Mountain, the most loaded question was: “Is an India tour on the cards?” Frontman Damon Albarn wasted no time before answering, “If we don’t play in India, what’s the point of this album?” And from there, the hope was born.. Three months later, Gorillaz have made good on their promise. Albarn, along with artist Jamie Hewlett, who created virtual band members singer 2D, bassist Murdoc Niccals, guitarist Noodle and drummer Russel Hobbs, will make their India debut in 2027. The lucky cities they will drop anchor in are Bengaluru (January 23; District Arena) and Mumbai (January 27; Jio World Garden)—although to hear Albarn and Hewlett speak about how much they love India, they might just add to those cities in the months to come. “Visually, there’s something interesting going on in every square metre of India. That’s why we took our photographer with us—drawing a single backdrop would probably take me a year,” Hewlett had told Vogue India. “I wanted to photograph everything and then put the characters into those scenes. It would have been impossible to replicate what was happening on the streets of Jaipur or Delhi through a sketch because it’s thousands of years of cultural evidence. I love it. I’m not finished with India. I need more.” In Bengaluru and Mumbai, Gorillaz will be joined onstage by their full live band as well as special guest performers, including many of Gorillaz’s Indian collaborators—which include Asha Bhosle, Anoushka Shankar, Ajay Prasanna, Asha Puthli, Amaan Ali Bangash and Ayaan Ali Bangash.
