AI will shape future warfare, help take quick and right decisions: Chief of Defence Staff

Chief of defence staff General Anil Chauhan on Saturday said artificial intelligence will shape future warfare and help the armed forces make timely and right decisions to emerge victorious in conflicts. He added that running AI systems for the military will require dedicated power in the future.. “AI will play a major role in warfare tomorrow, and so will autonomous systems,” General Anil Chauhan said. (ANI). Speaking at the Raisina Dialogue 2026, he said AI is already playing a major role in ongoing conflicts, including decision support, targeting, and ISR (intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance).. AI will play a major role in warfare tomorrow, and so will autonomous systems,” Chauhan said in a session themed “Tech Triad: Power, Autonomy and Energy in the Data-centric Age.”. The CDS touched on how AI will help military commanders take the right decisions and influence the outcome of combat.. “Combat today is very complex. It’s happening in multiple domains and realms including physical, synthetic and cognitive. Without automated systems, making timely decisions becomes very difficult. In any combat situation, if you want to win, two things are critical — timely decisions and the right decisions. AI helps us to do this,” Chauhan said.. The CDS pointed out that a huge amount of power will be required to run these systems, adding that energy is closely associated with AI and autonomy.. “India is taking small steps towards AI… we are yet to formulate how we want to use it. So it will be a bit premature to say that independent power structures are a must for the military’s needs for AI. But there will be a requirement of dedicated power to run AI systems for the military in the future,” he added, responding to a question on if militaries need independent energy infrastructure to maintain the resilience of mission-critical AI systems.

Women should pursue ‘career with character’: Rashtra Sevika Samiti chief

New Delhi, Women should pursue a “career with character”, bringing sincerity, ethical values and a sense of responsibility to the workplace, said Rashtra Sevika Samiti chief V Shantha Kumari.. Women should pursue ‘career with character’: Rashtra Sevika Samiti chief. In an interview with PTI, Kumari also spoke about the organisation’s perspective on feminism, stating that the Indian approach to feminism emphasises developing one’s own qualities and character rather than competing with men.. Rashtra Sevika Samiti, founded in 1936, functions as a women’s organisation parallel to the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh for men.. Kumari said women can contribute to the nation’s development alongside men in different fields.. “Women can choose any career, but it should be a career with character,” she said, explaining that work should be done with sincerity and without corruption.. According to her, women often bring a sense of family and care into the workplace, which can help create a more positive and responsible work environment.. “Women have the nature of treating everyone like a family member because of Matritva . If they bring such a family atmosphere, people will work together with sincerity,” she said.. Kumari said women can manage both family responsibilities and professional work.. “A woman has the capability to manage the family and work outside, and therefore can contribute significantly to the welfare of society and the nation,” she said.. The Rashtra Sevika Samiti chief said the organisation encourages women to participate in social and national development through its network of shakhas.. “Through our shakhas, we encourage women to set aside time and contribute to the welfare of society,” Kumari said, adding that the organisation engages women from childhood through different groups to instil in them a sense of responsibility towards society.. She added that women should think about how they could contribute to the nation wherever they are whether at home or in the workplace.. Commenting on government initiatives such as the Lakhpati Didi programme aimed at improving women’s economic participation, Kumari said schemes that support women financially can help them gain confidence and plan their future.. “First of all, we should encourage women. If they are facing economic problems in their work, they should be supported, including with financial help. Only then can they think about their future properly,” she told PTI.. Kumari said government programmes to support women’s livelihoods are positive steps, but their effective implementation is crucial.. “What the government is doing is good. The plans are very good, but the execution should be proper; they should reach even the remote villages,” she said, adding that the society should also play a role in ensuring that such initiatives reach the intended beneficiaries.. Kumari encouraged young women to use their abilities and innovative ideas to create opportunities. “The younger generation has many

India set to lead global homoeopathy with certified quality frameworks: Experts

New Delhi, India, home to one of the world’s largest homoeopathy ecosystems, is set to emerge as a global leader in the sector, driven by strong clinical expertise, large-scale practitioner networks, and internationally recognised quality certifications and standards.. India set to lead global homoeopathy with certified quality frameworks: Experts. For decades, the German homoeopathy brands have enjoyed a premium global reputation, often being perceived as the gold standard in quality, consistency, and research-backed manufacturing, AYUSH experts said.. However, they said that India is not only on track to match but even surpass them, driven by two powerful quality frameworks – the AYUSH Premium Mark and NABL accreditation.. According to industry reports, the country has over 2.5 lakh registered homoeopathy practitioners, nearly 300 teaching institutions, and millions of patients relying on homoeopathy as their primary or complementary system of medicine.. The global homoeopathy market is valued at over USD 8 to 10 billion, with Europe accounting for a significant share, historically dominated by Germany. Experts believe that quality-backed Indian brands are now well-positioned to challenge this dominance.. “The key differentiator lies in certified quality and scientific validation,” said Dr Pradeep Prajapati, Director of the All India Institute of Ayurveda .. He added that the AYUSH Premium Mark, launched by the Ministry of AYUSH, represents global-level compliance in manufacturing, safety, and quality management for AYUSH products.. The NABL certification ensures internationally benchmarked accuracy, reliability, and reproducibility in testing and quality control – aligned with ISO standards recognised across Europe and beyond, Dr Prajapati explained.. Rajeshwar Tiwari, a senior representative from the Ministry of AYUSH, said India has unmatched clinical data, practitioner strength, and patient diversity in homoeopathy.. “When this experiential advantage is supported by certified quality frameworks like AYUSH Premium and NABL, Indian homoeopathy gains scientific credibility that is globally comparable. This integration of research, regulation, and manufacturing excellence is essential for competing with established European brands,” Tiwari said.. A landmark example of this shift is Adven Biotech, which has become India’s first homoeopathy company to receive both the AYUSH Premium Mark and NABL certification.. Adesh Sharma, CEO of Adven Biotech, said AYUSH Premium and NABL are not just certificates; they are global passports for Indian homoeopathy.. “For years, Indian brands were clinically strong but undervalued internationally due to a lack of globally recognised quality benchmarks. These certifications change that perception completely and put Indian companies on the same platform as leading German manufacturers,” Sharma said.. He added that India stands to gain strategically. “Germany may have legacy, but India has scale, talent, raw mater
