The Atlanta Police Department (APD) said its homicide detectives secured an arrest warrant that day for the juvenile suspect. Officials stated that the teenager was detained without incident and taken to the Metro Youth Detention Center. “Public safety is our top priority for juveniles,” said APD Capt. Germain Dearlove told Fox 5 Atlanta, urging adults to keep weapons locked up and out of reach of children and teens. “For parents and guardians, check your home and ensure these weapons are secured.” If friends are over, don’t allow the door to be closed, check on them, and do periodic check-ins.
