Caroline Dubois knocked down and bloodied Terri Harper before outpointing her British opponent to claim the unified lightweight world championship at London’s Olympia. Following a lackluster opening half of the bout, Dubois floored Harper with a sharp jab and left hook in the sixth round. Doncaster’s Harper, who sustained a severe cut from a head clash in the eighth, displayed remarkable resilience by continuing to punch through the final round. The judges scored it 97-92, 98-91, and 97-92 for Dubois, who now adds Harper’s WBO title to her WBC belt. “Terri put on a strong performance and proved why she’s a top boxer,” Dubois told Sky Sports. “It was never personal for me; it was for Terri.” I am both a fighter and an entertainer. I put myself out there to support you all and deliver entertaining commentary. “That’s why this fight was the most talked about…” I felt like I started really strong. Terri was extremely negative, just as we expected she would be.
