According to a statement from Italy’s Carabinieri military police, the 48-year-old escaped custody last January while facing arrest on murder charges. A key figure in Naples’ Camorra crime syndicate and one of Italy’s most wanted fugitives, Mazzarella was apprehended in Vietri sul Mare alongside his wife and two children, offering no resistance. Several patrol boats participated in the arrest, stationed along the coastline. The Carabinieri released video footage of the raid, depicting heavily armed officers storming the villa. Last month, authorities arrested 16 individuals suspected of ties to the Mazzarella clan for cyber fraud. Italian news agency Ansa reported that he was residing at the property using a fake identity.
