Isha Ambani’s champagne corset and lehenga glint with crystals, beadwork and sequins

Isha Mukesh Ambani attended a sangeet ceremony wearing a champagne-toned ensemble that combined couture corsetry with traditional Indian embroidery. The strapless corset, custom-made by Wiederhoeft, featured visible boning channels overlaid with tonal beadwork and sequins.. The corset opened into a lehenga by Manish Malhotra, where dense zardozi and sequin embroidery formed elongated medallion panels running down the skirt. Toward the hem, the pattern shifts into tightly packed latticework and clustered floral motifs that add weight to the silhouette. A sheer embroidered drape rested loosely along the arms rather than being wrapped traditionally.. Hair by Mike Desir is centre-parted and smoothed back before falling into loose waves down the back. A floral diamond maang tikka sits at the parting, while chandelier earrings carry into the hairdo with trailing diamond chains. Deepa Verma keeps the makeup tonal with softly smoked eyes, luminous skin and a rose-toned nude lip.. From Vogue’s fashion desk. “An off-shoulder gown is a classic; it moves seamlessly from elegant evening wear to a wedding event. Swap the diamonds for some colourful stones to add a pop of rich colour to the look,” says Divya Balakrishnan, Vogue India fashion associate.. Also read:. This is how many hours of sleep your body really needs

Sleep is one of the most important aspects of our lives. There are those who sleep little and are still active from the early hours and then there are those who would sleep 12 hours if they could. Beyond each of our biological clocks and our habits and lifestyle, there is a precise number for how many hours of sleep you need. Pointing us towards this are some scientific studies that offer useful guidelines to determine the optimal number of hours of sleep for each of us. This can be a starting point to better plan a perfect rest routine and wake up recharged and full of energy.. How many hours should you sleep based on your age?. According to the National Sleep Foundation, sleep recommendations vary by age. The guidelines suggest these hours of rest:. Infants (0-3 months): 14-17 hours. Toddlers (4-11 months): 12-15 hours. Toddlers (1-2 years): 11-14 hours. Preschool-age children (3-5 years): 10-13 hours. School-age children (6-13 years): 9-11 hours. Teenagers (14-17 years): 8-10 hours. Adults (18-64 years): 7-9 hours. Seniors (65+ years): 7-8 hours. These recommendations are based on a wide range of scientific studies linking the number of hours of sleep to physical and mental health. However, they are only a starting point because each individual may have different needs.. What happens if I get little sleep?. Several scientific studies have shown that an insufficient amount of sleep is associated with numerous health problems. An analysis conducted by the Journal of Clinical Sleep Medicine found that sleeping less than 7 hours a night increases the risk of heart disease, type 2 diabetes, obesity and depression. In addition, chronic insomnia and lack of sleep can impair cognitive function and increase the risk of accidents.. Is too much sleep bad for you?. Sleeping too much can also be harmful to the body. According to a study published in National Institutes of Health, too much sleep (more than nine hours a night) has been associated with increased premature mortality, although researchers do not yet fully understand the mechanisms behind this phenomenon.. How to figure out how many hours of sleep is right for you. Determining how many hours of sleep you need each night depends on several factors, including one’s lifestyle, sleep quality and stress level. One must observe how one feels during the day and assess how strenuous their daily life is. Although general suggestions from scientific studies on how many hours one should sleep are helpful, each person has individual needs and what matters most is listening to one’s body. Knowing the number of hours suggested by science (which in adulthood is 7-9 hours) allows us to create an ideal routine. Investing in good quality sleep is a key step in improving overall health and mental and physical wellbeing.. Here are some tips for finding the right number of hours of sleep for you:. Listen to your body: The key to understanding whether you are getting enough sleep is to assess how you feel in the morn

A song-by-song review of Harry Styles’s new album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally.

One Direction famously did not dance, but a decade after their dissolution (“indefinite hiatus,” for those still hoping!), Harry Styles’ new album calls the group’s most successful solo artist to choreo.. With his fourth album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally., Styles surrenders to quivering jazz hands and riffs on the Electric Slide—as seen in his Patrick-Bateman-at-a-flash-mob performance at the Brit Awards—and explores an electronic new sound that makes you want to chicken-cutlet yourself in glitter and fly to Amsterdam for his Memorial Day shows. (Anyone else for weekend two?). Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally. is the one we Harries, a feverishly unwell (complimentary) bunch, have been waiting for. In the years since his last album, 2022’s eclectic Harry’s House, dropped and the serotonin explosion that was his five-continent Love on Tour wrapped in 2023, we’ve pined for him like an unrequited lover. The break was long and torturous for fans but clearly restorative for Styles, who lolled in the Italian countryside with Alessandro Michele, bonded with a new niece and found himself unassumingly among the masses in the Vatican when the conclave elected Pope Leo XIV last June. The message on the gray baseball hat Styles wore that day was a clue about the album to come: “techno is my boyfriend.”. It tracks that Styles, a pop star known for meeting the moment, is luring us all to the dance floor now. Styles has always been an antidote to toxic, Trumpian masculinity, from his earnest mantra to “Treat people with kindness” to appearing on the cover of Vogue in a resplendent, ruffled Gucci gown. Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally. continues the trend: in harsh times, he wants us to dance and maybe cry at the same time.. The album is true to its quirky title: the disco is, in fact, occasional, while there are more songs of the kiss variety—the kind of singer-songwriter sweetness Styles is known for, infused with more techno sparkle. Here, an utterly biased, song-by-song review of compassionate king Harry Styles’ new album, Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally.. “Aperture”

Matthieu Blazy’s Chanel is built for the fashion nerds

The first time I realised my partner was ‘The One’ was a moment so deceptively ordinary, you might actually roll your eyes upon reading this. We were exiting my apartment building in the afternoon when he doubled back and handed me his sunglasses. “It’s very bright, you’ll get a headache,” he said. A man’s act of remembering a throwaway detail shared casually months ago. A woman’s surprise at being seen and cared for in that wholly quotidian, impossibly real way. When I told my partner it was the most romantic thing anyone had ever done for me, he did actually roll his eyes. When I recounted the incident to my best friend, she understood immediately.. Women are so used to shrinking themselves—in public, at the workplace, in marriages, at the gym—that when we are seen and remembered, strange quirks, weird medical conditions and all, well… we fall in love.. Matthieu Blazy understands this simple truth that evades so many others of his sex. For Chanel’s celebrated Métiers d’art 2026 show last December, the house’s new creative director did not fly his audience to a tropical island or plop a Swedish iceberg (RIP Karl Lagerfeld) in the centre of the runway. Blazy made them schlep down to an unused subway station in New York. Hardly the epitome of glamour. Then, as a train rolled in and a cast of characters poured out in every direction, he forced us to look at, and fall for, the details like only a true fashion nerd can.. Courtesy of Chanel. The show made it clear that Blazy hadn’t just rabbit-holed into the Chanel archives. He’d also invested time in getting to know Coco Chanel, the woman. Everywhere you looked, there were cheeky references to her life, waiting to be identified. A red scarf slung low across the hips of a black co-ord set, styled like Mademoiselle herself. A tweed suit woven to look like leopard print, an ethical homage to her love for fur. A leather jacket hand-painted with ‘Tonight or Never’, recalling the 1931 film that marked Chanel’s debut as a Hollywood costume stylist. Then, the vocabulary expanded. The fashion nerd flexed. Intermingled with allusions to his chosen ancestor were everyday women Chanel might have met on her pit stop in New York. The off-duty showgirl waltzing home from Broadway, feathered fan in hand. The Upper East Side cat lady. The mob boss, dressed to kill.
