In April, Mumbai demands breathable fabrics and colors that don’t clash with the heat. Kiara Advani brought the solution for the third anniversary of the Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre. That evening, she turned heads in House of Masaba’s ‘Gulposh’ sari, proving that blush pink and sage green, united by artisanal craftsmanship, form the ultimate formula for warm-weather festivities. Made from crepe silk in spring-fresh hues of sage green and soft pink, the sari boasts a fluid drape, gentle luster, and featherweight feel. The sari features delicate buta motifs across its fabric, complemented by an embroidered scalloped border. “But it’s the pallu I wanted to make the focal point,” says designer Masaba Gupta, adding, “I wanted the sari to feel light, yet appear heavy enough for important and elaborate occasions.” The pallu features our signature patchwork technique, completed with gold embroidery in ‘sitara’ and ‘dabka’ kaam, adorned with House of Masaba motifs. The Gulposh involves combining three crafts into a single sari, with none overpowering the others.
