Lena Dunham claims that she wrote her memoir “Famesick” in an “honest” way. She alleges that Adam Driver threw a table, punched a gap in his trailer and screamed at her when she forgot her lines. She also claimed their relationship almost crossed a line before he married Joanne Tucker in 2013.

Dunham, while promoting her new book, reflected on her struggles as the “Girls’ showrunner, at such a young, age. She was only 23 years old when HBO first called her to offer her the blind pilot deal. Driver, who was also known as Kylo in the “Star Wars sequel trilogy”, was juggling his newfound fame while the HBO comedy series was a success.
“For better or for worse, it was our first jobs.” Dunham said in a PEOPLE interview that Adam had a “very specific ride” because he was on the show, and also a major movie star.
“He was on two tracks and he is a very serious, work-focused person. “I have a great deal of empathy for this,” she continued.
Dunham Said That She Didn’t Wish To Make Adam Driver “The Outlier”

Dunham said that she did not want Driver to be seen as “the outlier” in the comedy series, when she wrote her memoir about her experiences with Driver. She said that she wanted to use it as an example to show how difficult it is to navigate your “first experiences” in a managerial position, and she hopes other people can relate.
She said that the goal of the episode was not to make Adam look like an outlier, but to show how confusing and complex the first experiences of being a boss could be.

“I was also, in that time of my life, very intimidated by men. “It was a challenge for me to try to be a woman leader in the face of men,” she said. “I learned on the job, and I’m lucky to not feel those same fears anymore.”

Adam Driver’s Adam played the on-again, off-again boyfriend of Dunham’s Hannah. Dunham said that while reflecting on the experience filming “Girls”, they had “two separate relationships” on-screen and off.
She said, “It was an incredibly rich creative dynamic where we could understand each other completely on screen and in some ways not at all off-screen.” “It was almost as if we had two different relationships. One that played out on screen and another that played out in real life.”
She said that she wrote about Driver only to “capture the relationship” in an “honest manner” as she reflected upon her experiences.
She says, “It was a way to capture the relationship in an honest manner, and also to really talk about how being around a very talented, charismatic and complex person affected me both in positive ways and in ways which were a little harder.”

In a separate, promotional interview with The Guardian, Dunham confessed, “I care a great deal about having a stage where people feel happy, free, heard, and unafraid.” I want people to not feel the same way I did.
Dunham alleged that Driver’s behavior was “not my style at the time.” “At that time, in my 20s I still believed that great male geniuses would eviscerate me. It’s strange, because my father was a man genius who would never do such a thing.
