Virat Kohli: India cricket star on 2027 World Cup chances

Virat Kohli: India cricket star on 2027 World Cup chances

Virat Kohli of India says that he will not be playing in the 2027 Cricket World Cup, if the team needs him to prove his worth.

Former India Captain Kohli is regarded by many as one of history’s greatest 50-over batsmen. He was part of India’s last World Cup winning team in 2011. He played a major role in the Champions Trophy triumph of last year. The 37-year old has retired from India’s Test and T20 sides but continues to play for their 50-over team. Kohli said on the RCB Podcast that he would be seen if he could add value to his environment and if the environment felt like he could add value.

If I’m forced to feel that I need to prove myself and my value, then I’m out of there.

“When I arrive to the game, I put my mind down and work as hard as anyone else, if not more. I play the game correctly.

“You want me running from boundary to boundary in an ODI match for 40 overs, I’ll do it without complaint. Because I prepare accordingly.

I prepare for it. I know that I am going to field 50 balls every ball, as if this is the last ball of my career. I will bat and run between wickets in the same way. I will do all I can for my team.

If I have to prove myself in a situation where I need to prove that I am worth it, then I will not be able to do well there. And I’m very clear about that in my mind.

First look of Indias debut bullet train between Mumbai, Ahmedabad unveiled

Bullet Train

The first glimpse of India’s bullet train, which is set to run between Ahmedabad, India and Mumbai, was unveiled by the Ministry of Railways, New Delhi. It offers a glimpse of the ambitious project.

The Ministry of Railways has installed a picture of the high speed train at Gate Number 4 of its building. The display shows the design of the high-speed train.

“A picture of the first proposed bullet train in the country has been displayed at Ministry of Railways. The picture was installed at Gate Number 4”, Indian Railways announced in a news release cited by the news agency

, ANI . The bullet train will be India’s first high speed rail service. MUMBAI-AHMEDABAD BULLLET TRAIN CORRIDOR. The Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail is scheduled to begin on August 15, 2020. Once the train is operational, it will drastically reduce travel times between the two major cities. The first glimpse of India’s debut bullet trains surfaced after the National High Speed Rail Corporation Limited said that the first Tunnel Boring Machine(TBM) cutterhead was lowered at Vikhroli (in Mumbai’s east suburbs) for the construction a tunnel in the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Bullet Train Project. The 350-tonne, 13.6-metre-diameter cutterhead that was lowered by NHSRCL on Sunday marks the end of the primary assembly process for the TBM’s main shield. This is part of the project to build a high-speed rail corridor. Two TBMs weighing more than 3,000 tonnes each are being assembled to construct a 16-km segment of the 21 km-long Mumbai Tunnel. The release said that the stretch includes a 7 km undersea railway tunnel beneath Thane Creek. This will be India’s first underwater rail tunnel.

Bullet Train

The TBMs have been the largest machines for rail tunnel building in the country. The cutterhead was designed to excavate one tunnel large enough to accommodate the up and down lines on the bullet train corridor. NHSRCL was quoted by PTI

as saying that the 350-tonne component was delivered to the site in five separate shipments. It was then assembled using 1,600 kg of high precision welding. The release states that a stretch of approximately 6 km from Vikhroli Complex to Bandrakurla Complex (BKC) is being carved out with the TBM. The tunnel will pass under densely populated areas and the Mithi River before reaching the Mumbai bullet train station, which is currently being constructed at BKC.

PM Modi in Norway: PM Modi calls for peaceful resolution of conflicts in West Asia and Ukraine

The logic behind India’s engagement with Northern Europe is fundamentally changing. When India first met with the Nordics (Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark) in Stockholm, 2018, and again at Copenhagen, 2022, it was a relationship based largely on climate cooperation, innovation and digitalisation. The partnership is still anchored in these priorities, but a changed geopolitical context gives it a new strategic depth and economic purpose. The current change reflects more than just bilateral ties. The war in Ukraine transformed Europe’s order of security, while tensions within trans-Atlantic relations have upset long-held assumptions. Oslo summit must mark India’s northward turn.

India, while not an Arctic nation is undeniably a stakeholder in the Arctic.
