MS can disrupt these signals, according to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society. Every patient’s experience of MS is unique. Each patient’s experience is unique. According to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, most people with MS develop symptoms in their 20s to 40s.
MS patients often have vision problems and muscle weakness. They may also experience difficulty with balance, which can lead to difficulties walking or standing.

Patients often experience weakness in their legs or arms and problems with balance, which can lead to difficulty walking or standing. Dr. Michael G. Ho, UCLA assistant clinical professor of neurology, said that MS can present with “isolated eye vision loss, numbness and tingling in the face [and] double sight, usually lasting for days rather than hours or minutes.” REPORT: ‘KISSING DISEASE’ MAY TRIGGER MULTIPLE SCERROSIS: REPORTApp legate stated that she was “sleeping all day” after being diagnosed with MS and was using a wheelchair to move around the set. These symptoms are not specific and can often be overlooked. However, they are easy to overlook and are easily ignored by patients. According to the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke, “About half of people with MS have cognitive impairments such a difficulty with concentration, attention, memory, and poor judgment. However, such symptoms are often mild and are often overlooked.” Sometimes, the symptoms are mild and people fully heal. According to The New York Times, Applegate recalls having balance problems while filming a dance sequence for “Dead To Me” in the first season. This was before she was officially diagnosed. She told The New York Times that she wished she had paid more attention. “But who was to know? “She noticed that her tennis game was suffering, but she didn’t think it was due to a medical issue, as the same report noted.

MS patients may only experience symptoms temporarily, and then they will gradually disappear. They can then “relapse.” According to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society, an exacerbation is a relapse, attack, or flare-up of MS. This is when new symptoms appear or worsen old symptoms. Current treatments work best when they are used early in the disease process. The relapse must last for at least 24 hours, and must occur within 30 days of the previous attack. Other causes, such as infection, should be ruled out. “Current treatments are effective” Perumal stated that MS patients can have a normal exam in between relapses. The doctor said that current treatments are very effective. They are effective at preventing injury and maintaining function, but not at reversing injuries sustained over years,” she stated.  People will be seeing me for the first-time as a disabled person. It’s very difficult,” Applegate explained to Variety. She said, “I’m trying it out — and i’m also in mourning” for the person she was.
