Corporate America to Workers: Get vaccinated, or get out

While we are still waiting for the guidelines from white house for Federal workforce, President Biden is expected to announce at some time today, Corporate America has finally taken a stand to keep its returning workers safe after months of resistance. Many companies are now requiring vaccinations for their employees, and sometimes for clients and customers. Many companies allow for rare exemptions for religious or health reasons. The excuse that “I read something frightening on Facebook” is no longer valid.

Silicon Valley is leading the charge. Facebook and Google have announced that all employees returning to work must be vaccinated. Netflix (NFLX), is the first to require the vaccine. Wall Street offices are rapidly filling up. And vaccines are needed. The financial sector advises that you get vaccinated or look for a new job. BlackRock (BLK), Morgan Stanley (MS), announced that all employees must be vaccinated in order to return to work. Saks Fifth Avenue and Lyft (LYFT), as well as Ascension Health and the Washington Post, all require the shot to return to work.

It’s good business. Johnny Taylor, Jr., of the Society of Human Resource Management, states that most employees want mandatory vaccines. They want to know that their workplace is safe for when they return. According to his polling, nearly 70% of employees want their coworkers to be vaccinated. The vaccine-reluctants have made it difficult to be patient. . There are organizations that will go the extra mile. They are saying that if you don’t want to be vaccinated, you will need to be tested several times a week on your own. You will be required to wear a mask at work, and not just any mask, but the N95 surgical mask. We are going to make it uncomfortable for you and make the workplace less comfortable for you.

MGM Grand (MGM) will require masks indoors for Disneyland and Disney World. MGM Grand (MGM) will require indoor masks for Disney World and Disneyland. “In addition to the heartbreaking thought of more illness or death, I fear that more restrictive measures, such as a return to social ditancing and capacity limitations, could be around our corner if we keep on this path,” Hornbuckle wrote to employees.

CNBC was informed by Hornbuckle that it is impossible to have full restaurants again without requiring employees and customers to get vaccinated. These strains – there’s no reason they shouldn’t keep coming, one stronger than the other. Although we don’t know the exact outcome, it’s possible. We can still get back to our economic activity as vaccinations rise,”

Powell stated Wednesday. Many companies are rethinking their plans for returning to work after the virus’s Delta variant. Many had hoped to have their employees back by Labor Day. However, some companies are now pushing back into the fall. They are indicating that vaccines will be needed. Make sure to plan accordingly.
