Back in 2017, Muniz competed on “Dancing with the Stars,” and one of the themes in the weeks-long competition was “The Most Memorable Year.” As he shared back then, he had no recollection of many of his experiences, including filming for “Maclom in the Middle,” which he starred in for six years. “It makes me a little sad. Things pop back into my mind [that] I should have remembered,” he said. The media ran with it, claiming that the actor suffered from severe memory loss and even amnesia.. “The story of that was taken out of context… All these stories have come out where people are like, ‘You don’t even know your [own] wife.’ I just have a bad memory,” Muniz told Rosenbaum.. Muniz also opened up about health issues in the past, admitting to having “episodes” where he experienced vision loss and couldn’t recognize people. He was told they were mini strokes, but he later found out it was a misdiagnosis, and what he actually had were aura migraines, as reported by Huff Post.. The condition, per the Cleveland Clinic, causes sensory issues that act as warning signs before a migraine headache. Symptoms may include spots or flashes in your vision, ringing in your ears, tingling in your limbs, and slurred speech.. Moreover, Muniz has had nine concussions stemming from childhood recklessness, sports, and accidents during his racing career. “I do think I have a bad memory, but it’s not like I have amnesia,” Muniz told Rosenbaum, ad
