The friendship bracelet that started it all has now evolved into wedding rings. Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce have tied the knot.
According to Swift’s Publicist, the couple were both married at Madison Square Garden on Friday. A marquee was placed outside of the Midtown Manhattan venue, reading “JUST&T WEDDED.”
The couple has just completed the last chapter of their love story. It spans three years and includes two Super Bowls as well as an album release, the most successful tour in history, and the announcement of the pair’s new album.

A friendship bracelet, undelivered
The story began, as it should, with a bracelet of friendship.
Kelce was at Swift’s Eras Concert in Arrowhead Stadium where the Chiefs played, back in July of 2023.
On his podcast “New Heights”, he admitted to feeling disappointed – or, as he put it, “butthurt,” that he could not meet Swift in person and give her a bracelet with his number.
He jokingly said, “She hasn’t met anyone, or she at least didn’t want me to meet her, so I’ve taken it personally.” On Instagram, the podcast posted: “Anyone have any ideas on how to send a bracelet @taylorswift13?” Asking for a Friend.”
The getaway car
Kelce hinted that his efforts were having some success by September of the same year. In the face of speculation, Kelce told an interviewer that “it is what it Is.”
But clearly, there was something going on. Kelce announced that he had invited Swift to an Arrowhead game. He said, “I put the ball into her court” on another talkshow.
Swift accepted Kelce’s offer and appeared in front of the entire world at the Chiefs vs. Bears football game to cheer alongside his mother, Donna Kelce. Kelce and Swift left the stadium together in Kelce’s purple Chevelle “getaway car” — pardon the pun but Kelce used it himself.
Kelce described Swift’s performance as “pretty ballsy” a few weeks later, and said that he enjoyed seeing Swift cheering alongside his mother.
Swift’s appearance at the Chiefs game was just one of many. Swift’s fandom was a hot topic online, with some wondering if she was distracting football. The NFL capitalized on this. She was at Arrowhead a day after her flashy Los Angeles premier of “Taylor Swift – Eras Tour”.
Karma, the Chiefs’ Karma
Now it was Kelce’s turn to be the admiring fan. Swift’s tour in Argentina was brought to an end by Swift, who changed “Karma” lyrics to honor her boyfriend, two months after her hiatus. She sang, “Karma’s the Chiefs guy coming home straight to me,” Scott Swift applauded Kelce’s newest flame, standing next to him.

A race across nine time zones
The game was still on. Swift’s fans wondered how she would make it to Las Vegas for the Super Bowl from Tokyo.
Swift wrote on Instagram, “This week has been the most chaotic of all.”
Chaos indeed. Swift was able to attend the Grammys at Los Angeles in one week, fly to Tokyo to perform four concerts and then jump back on her plane with plenty of time left to get to the Super Bowl. Swift crossed nine timezones and the dateline to get there.
Kelce, announcing the Grammys the day after Swift won Album of the Year for the record-breaking fourth time said: “She is rewriting history herself.” “I said I would have to keep my promise and bring home hardware too.”
He did. Swift was wearing her necklace “87”. They kissed again on the field after the Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers.
The road is open again
Swift and Kelce were back on the road in Australia, where they cuddled koalas at the Zoo.
Swift played a segment from her latest album, “The Tortured Poets Department” in Paris. Some fans wondered if Kelce was a part of some lyrics, such as “You knew exactly what you wanted, and boy, did you get her” from “So High School.”
The highlight of the tour was in London in June when a series of celebrity-packed concerts took place. Kelce, dressed in a tuxedo, top hat, and Swift, he carried Swift around during a choreographed piece before the song “I Can Do It With a Broken Heart.”
Swift later wrote on Instagram, “I’m still swooning/cracking up.”
“Happiness, fun and magic”
Kelce spoke with great pride of the relationship and said on the podcast “Bussin’ with the Boys”, that he did not want to conceal anything.
He said, “That is my girl.” He said, “That is my girl.” “I’m very proud of you.”
Swift’s acceptance speech for the MTV Video Music Award in September last year, where she shouted out “my boyfriend Travis”, echoed this emotion.
She said, “Everything he touches is filled with happiness, fun and magic.”
I am just a sailor who supports his girlfriend
Kelce, during the summer and autumn of 2024 attended Swift’s last tour dates. He also mentioned Swift on his show “New Heights,” referring to Swift as “his girlfriend” in an episode from July.
She is everything that everyone says she is. She is so amazing. “Some of the people that you meet you are like, “I have no idea what I am doing,” he explained. You are incredible, your talent, and how you present yourself, is amazing. I’m just a guy supporting his girl.”
Swift was also regularly photographed at Kelce’s matches, including Super Bowl 2025.
Football lights, camera action
The couple’s red carpet debut was at Tight End U in June, a three-day annual training summit, founded by Kelce George Kittle, and Greg Olsen, a month after the Super Bowl.
Swift performed “Shake it Off”, along with Kane Brown, at Brooklyn Bowl. Fans were thrilled to see the couple once again showing their public love and support for each other.
‘The Life of a Showgirl”
Couples who work together will stay together.
Swift released her 12th studio record, the highly-anticipated “The Life of a Showgirl”, in mid August. Kelce was also included in this announcement. Swift’s appearance in “New Heights” was teased by a clip from the show.
Swift revealed to the Kelce brothers that she had something special for them. She showed a green briefcase with her orange initials. Jason Kelce then asked Swift what she had in the briefcase, which prompted her to take out a record.
Our jobs are similar
Swift spoke in detail, during the “New Heights”, a two-hour episode that featured Swift, about their summer after the Super Bowl. Swift said that she and Travis Kelce spent a lot of time together in Florida. The two jobs revolve around “entertaining people for three hours at NFL stadiums.”
Swift, who calls “New Heights,” her “favorite” podcast, credited the song for bringing her boyfriend. Swift said, “This is what I have been wanting since I was teenager” about their relationship.
Kelce said that the tour was responsible for him getting a girlfriend. He said, “I’ve seen you perform on stage and I can see that you’re able to get a stadium pumped up. Then I meet you and I feel like I have known you for years.” It was the most fun I’ve ever had and the easiest conversation that I have ever had.
Jock, meet writer
The couple revealed their engagement in late August through a 5-photo carousel posted to Swift’s and Kelce’s respective Instagram accounts. She wrote, “Your English and gym teachers are getting married.”
A wedding at MSG
Even the most openminded Swifty thought it was crazy — a marriage at Madison Square Garden. Really? Really?
Instead of bridesmaids and groomsmen the couple chose Swift’s brother as Swift’s man-of-honor, while Kelce’s younger brother Jason served as Kelce’s best man. Adam Sandler, the actor who officiated at this star-studded ceremony.
Swift’s Publicist stated that the outfits of Swift and Kelce were created by Christian Dior Haute Couture, its designer Jonathan Anderson and Christian Louboutin custom made shoes. Swift was wearing Cartier jewellery.

Former Dancing with the Stars professional shared a post comparing the difference between her current appearance and that when she was young.
Burke wrote in a journal article published on June that she was humiliated for her appearance at a television show back in 2006.

The former Dancing with the Stars professional encouraged anyone who had something to criticize to “stop comparing myself to when I was twenty.”
The 42-year old television personality turned beauty creator addressed the “exhausting speculations” about her appearance, including some that claimed her transformation may have been in part caused by a GLP-1 drug, like Ozempic. Burke, in an interview with Dory Jackson of the journalist Dory Jackson spoke about the physical and psychological tolls that retiring from dancing professionally has taken on her. She also said that she is experiencing the changes associated with perimenopause.
“I looked like a bodybuilder, I had a jacked torso like my legs. It changes when you stop pounding your body. “It’s not the best but that’s how life is,” said she.
Burke acknowledged that she is affected by the criticism from time-to-time. It hasn’t gotten too bad recently, but it will get old. “People will say the same things every time,” said she.
Burke wrote about the body-shaming she had experienced after her debut in 2006 on Dancing with the Stars.
“I can remember one day turning on my television and seeing the name of my daughter on a chyron. Was Cheryl fat enough to be on TV?” That is something I’ll never forget. “I was 20 or so years old and hormonally fluctuating, living for the first-time outside of the strict constraints of competitive dancing, when my body made the news.” she said.
She then claimed that her two male co-stars on the show, who were both professionals, had “made remarks about my weight in the press room after a live performance.” The story was picked up by everyone. Then she asked, “Have you had any personal discussions with them?” Absolutely. Am I able to forgive? Absolutely. “But it’s still shocking.”

A custom license plate with “JUST&T” and arcade games. Arcade games, and other odd pieces of equipment were unloaded by MSG Saturday morning. One car with “JUST&T” MRD license plates was spotted leaving the arena. The plate matched the one for “JUST&T Married!” Page Six reports that a marquee was placed outside the arena.
This sign. Around 7:30 pm, a marquee lit outside of the Midtown Manhattan Arena. ET, the marquee displayed “JUST&T WEDDED!” The play on T&T, the first initials of the couple. The sign was immediately photographed by fans and passers-by. It looked uncomfortably similar to AT&T’s promotion, according to more than one Yahoo Editor.
Adam Sandler presided. Tree Paine, Swift’s Publicist confirmed the news. The “Happy Gilmore’ actor presided over the ceremony. Kelce and Sandler have been friends for a long time. The Chiefs tight-end appeared in the 2025 sequel to “Happy Gilmore”.
Paul McCartney performed, according to reports. People said that the Beatles legend, along with actor Tom Hanks, was seen departing Madison Square Garden after reception. Stevie Nicks was the performer at this wedding. There were some notable absences. Page Six reports that Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds and others who were once part of Swift’s inner circle did not attend. The outlet reported that Swift’s friendship has deteriorated with Lively due to the legal issues she is facing with It Ends With Us co-star Justin Baldoni.
Please, no gifts. George Kittle, tight end for the San Francisco 49ers, said Swift and Kelce had told their guests “absolutely no gifts.” Uncertain is how many of the guests actually followed through.
It’s raining and there are lavender lights. Soon after the wedding announcement, rain began to fall in New York. Madison Square Garden was lit in pinkish-lavender color.
Insiders spilled all the details. AMC Theatres’ CEO Adam Aron who was one of 1,000 wedding guests broke the omerta by sharing a detailed account on X. Although he deleted the post later, the screenshots still preserved all of its details.
What Aron has revealed
Secret Garden was the theme. Aron described Aron’s ceremony area as “an outdoor garden in a lush country retreat” with “everything draped off in white and green.” He thought that artificial trees and real flowers greeted 15 rows of 75 chairs. He wrote: “They said there were about 1,000 attendees but it felt small and intimate.”
The walls were covered with photos of Taylor Travis and blown-up versions. Aron writes: “Immediately upon entering, everything… walls, floors, ceilings… were draped in white and peach.” The display included large blown up pictures of Taylor, Travis, and their ages, from one year old to the late teens.
The wedding was ushered into the reception by live violins and a cello. Travis was dressed in a white suit, while Taylor looked stunning “in a stunning wedding gown with a long veil train,” Aron noted. Sandler’s “warmth and welcome, funny and elegant” was a great description.
They were long, funny, heartfelt, romantic, emotional, endearing, and irreverent. Aron stated that both couples sang and talked, as well as explored the “hows, whats, and whys” of their relationship. They then sealed it with a kiss to “sweep off your feet.”
Five-story “trees” were lit at the reception. Aron described it as “an even larger stage of a Secret Garden” that was “just exquisite” with “superb music and food” by “A-list audiences.”

Taylor Swift married Travis Kelce on a bittersweet note… Her favorite teacher died the day before.
The Telegraph reported that Kirk Schwabe died on 3 July after losing his battle against cancer. The pop singer was married to Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end at the time.
The Telegraph reported that Schwabe, a Chicago cop, taught Taylor criminal justice at Hendersonville High School, Nashville from 2004-2006.
Taylor, her parents and friends trusted Schwabe, so in 2009 they asked him to become Taylor’s guardian as Taylor’s music career soared. Schwabe took the opportunity, quitting his job as a teacher and working hard for Taylor, a 14-time Grammy Award Winner.
Schwabe told the Telegraph that he quit his security job due to burnout, but he loved Taylor Taylor, and still called her “superstar.”
Schwabe, who was not able to attend the wedding, said that Taylor had chosen well in Travis. He believed she had impeccable judgment. Jane Schwabe, Schwabe’s spouse, says that Schwabe treated Taylor like one of her daughters.
Schwabe is 69.
