Britney Spears Keeps Low Profile During Holiday Weekend Outing

Britney Spears, who is preparing for the Fourth of Jul holiday weekend in Los Angeles, kept it low-key. She went out on a road trip with her bodyguard.
She was spotted riding Thursday in the front passenger seat while her bodyguard drove a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon. Brit was casually dressed and wearing a hat with a large brim. Britney looked relaxed as she and her friend cruised around Thousand Oaks during the afternoon.
The two are not known to be heading anywhere, but this outing gave fans a glimpse at Britney as she enjoys some quiet time before the Fourth of Independence weekend.
Britney is currently unable to drive, as we previously reported. She struck a deal in May which reduced the original DUI charge against her down to “wet-reckless.” She received a 12-month probationary period.
Britney had another proud moment recently after both of her sons made their Paris Fashion Week runway debuts. Sean Preston Federline and Jayden were the first to walk. Jayden revealed that Britney had been “so nervous”, sending flowers to the brothers and making many texts and phone calls in order to wish them good luck.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s Wedding: Lena Dunham Reportedly Made NSFW Joke During Speech

Last night, the wedding of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden went without incident… but the star’s closest friend Lena Dunham made an alleged joke that had people’s jaws dropping.
In a speech, the “Girls'” creator honored Mrs. Swift joked in her Friday night speech, according to Daily Mail. “American Football is straight men reenacting homosexual porn.”
The insider of the outlet claims that the NSFW joke “divided guests” as they heard “gasps, and laughter” immediately after. The source claims that Taylor did not take offense at the joke and called Lena afterward a genius.
TMZ reached out to Lena’s representatives for comment… but so far no response.
Adam Sandler, who officiated the ceremony and sang the couple a song that was described as touching yet humorous, performed the original song for the wedding.
TMZ insiders also claimed that the children of Jason and Kylie Kelce were flower girls who hurled petals at Taylor when she walked up the aisle. Jason Kelce was Travis’ best man, and Taylor Swift’s brother Austin Swift served as Taylor’s Man of Honor. They did not use the traditional bridal party and groomsman.
Some of Hollywood’s biggest stars attended their ceremony, as well as the reception that followed, including Jennifer Lopez and Tom Cruise. Also in attendance were Reese Witherspoon and Tim McGraw. Faith Hill and Paul McCartney. Karlie Kloss, Joshua Kushner and Stevie Nicks. Blake Lively was nowhere to be seen after her bizarre fallout with Taylor.
TMZ source said that the carnival games were played and food was served by Zero Bond, Tay’s favorite spot. The decor was of “Alice in Wonderland”, mixed with “Wizard of Oz”.

The White House Responds to Taylor Swift’s Wedding With Trump Meme

Donald Trump was not invited to Taylor Swift’s and Travis Kelce’s wedding. However, he managed to make himself known through a meme. On Twitter, the White House posted a parody of the signs outside Madison Square Garden that were displayed on Friday evening after the wedding.
“IT’S HAPPENED!! The page also wrote “IT’S HAPPENED!!
After Swift and Kelce exchanged vows on Friday night, the venue in New York City, where they were married, lit up a number of signs. The couple released a press statement shortly after saying “I do” on Friday evening.
The White House shared a meme earlier in the day referencing Swift, with an Eras Tour poster-like image of Trump and the caption “It has been a very long time …”
Swift has a long-standing feud with Trump, but she doesn’t get involved. Trump was angry when Swift supported Kamala in 2024. He wrote on Truth Social: “I HATE Taylor Swift.” Then, in 2025 he said, “Has anybody noticed that since I’ve written ‘I HATE Taylor Swift,” she is no longer “HOT?” ‘”
Trending Stories
Swift’s dislike by the president goes way back, even before her most recent elections. Swift supported Phil Bredesen, a Democrat running for the Tennessee Senate over Republican Marsha blackburn ahead of 2018’s midterm elections. Swift was asked about her stance by the then-president outside of White House.
Trump added, “I now like Taylor Swift’s music 25 percent less.”

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Are Married at Star-Studded M.S.G. Bash

A representative of Swift’s, Tree Paine, confirmed the nuptials of the pop superstar and her football player husband at around 7:30 p.m.
“Taylor Swift & Travis Kelce Are Married!,” the announcement read.
The couple did not have bridesmaids or groomsmen, according to Paine’s statement, with Swift’s brother Austin serving as “man of honor” and Jason Kelce, the groom’s brother, as best man. Adam Sandler, the actor and comedian, officiated. The couple wore Christian Dior, the statement said.
The event has been shrouded in secrecy for months, but on Friday, a rolling array of guests in black tie, the dress code, streamed inside the Garden, a collection of A-listers to rival the annual Met Gala on Fifth Avenue.
The guest list spanned worlds of music and sports and celebrity — like the bride and groom themselves — and included Selena Gomez; actors Bradley Cooper, Hugh Grant, Reese Witherspoon, Dakota Johnson, Ethan Hawke, Mariska Hargitay and Jason Sudeikis; the models Karlie Kloss and Gigi Hadid; musicians like the Chainsmokers, Ed Sheeran, Sombr, the Chicks and Benson Boone; and National Football League stars Cooper Kupp and Chris Jones.
Stevie Nicks, a friend of the bride, was expected to perform.
A four-block stretch of Seventh Avenue, a major downtown-bound thoroughfare, was closed, with roughly 1,000 people streaming into the Garden, often in tinted windowed S.U.V.s, waved into the event through a tall, black curtain set up outside the building. Traffic snarled on some other nearby streets and avenues.
Security was heavy, including some officers in tactical gear. Crowds of Swifties formed a fan club around metal barricades at the Garden, where workers have been busy for days, unloading cargo including food, décor and party supplies during a heat wave currently smothering in the city.
The choice of the arena was a surprise to some who thought Swift, 36, might choose a far-flung destination, but it has allowed for privacy for an event that has been likened to a royal wedding. Kelce, also 36, is a star in his own right, a three-time Super Bowl champion with the Kansas City Chiefs.
The celebration is occurring during a weekend marking America’s 250th birthday, which has only intensified the symbolism: In 2019, Swift wrote a social commentary song in the character of the disillusioned “Miss Americana,” and has been known to hold star-studded events around the holiday.
Swift and Kelce began dating in 2023 and announced their engagement last summer. Here’s what we’re covering:
Security and heat: Police officers from several agencies were dispatched for the event, working amid a suffocating heat wave. But those temperatures didn’t prevent an ice sculpture, apparently.
The Trump take: President Trump used the wedding event to try to draw the nation’s attention to himself. He posted a series of items nodding to Swift, including a faux poster featuring the president, titled “America’s Eras Tour” — a reference to the singer’s wildly successful world tour — and a post reading “TRUMP IS YOUR PRESIDENT” after the marriage was announced. The president is holding a rally on the National Mall on Saturday in Washington.
A featured performance: Stevie Nicks, the Fleetwood Mac legend, who has performed with Swift in the past, was said to be performing at the celebration on Friday, according to a person with knowledge of the event who spoke to The New York Times on condition of anonymity.
Welcome to New York: Where has Swift been seen and frequented in the city? We made a map.
Why Sandler? Adam Sandler as officiant may have been a surprise, but Kelce appeared with the actor and comedian in a cameo role last year in “Happy Gilmore 2.” Swift had also spoken glowingly about the Sandler character that he first played in 1996.
Money matters: Did Kelce have to sign a prenuptial agreement? Legal experts weighed in on how mega-celebrities handle their assets.
He was nattily attired in navy slacks, a matching waistcoat, and a white button-down shirt, which would soon show signs of perspiration. His wrist was stacked with friendship bracelets that spelled “Karma,” “Fearless,” and “No Body, No Crime,” references to Swift’s music. The Griffiths all wore Swiftie shirts.
The tour has a strong tween-girl component, says LaSpata, but it attracts all types. “Last week we had three generations of Swifties on the tour,” he said.
Today, there were two. They strolled together, with the adults doing most of the talking. Approaching Electric Lady Studios, where Swift recorded the ballad “Lover” and other tunes, they discussed their favorite songs. Alicia was leaning toward “Coney Island,” in honor of her family’s visit to New York.
“I feel like ‘Love Story’ would be a perfect song for today,” LaSpata said.
LaSpata’s tour illustrates key moments in Swift’s New York life, from the obvious (old apartments) to the whimsical (her deep connection to the sitcom “Friends”). He punctuates his stories with videos, which he shows on a tablet that he carries.
At Stonewall, the site of the 1969 riots that sparked the gay rights movement, LaSpata pointed out Swift’s history of support of the LGBTQ+ community. He bopped his head as he played a video of the acoustic version of “Shake It Off” that she performed there in June 2019.
Nearby, at a bakery called Milk Bar, he revealed Swift’s partiality to their signature birthday cake, a layered funfetti creation. “I’ve never seen her here,” said an employee. “It’s possible someone else orders for her.”
Other stops on the tour: Minetta Tavern, where LaSpata said Swift has been known to enjoy an oyster or two, and Via Carota, a buzzy Italian restaurant. “Supposedly, she went on a date with Travis here,” he said.
The streets of the West Village were subdued, which was to be expected in the oppressive heat. The most anticipated stop, at least for the young fans on this tour, was still to come.
“She has a song called ‘Cornelia Street,’ so I can’t wait to see the street,” said Cora. When she arrived, Cora recreated a photo staged by many Swifties before her, holding up a phone with the song queued up on the screen with the street sign behind her.
The tour came to an end at a shop in SoHo with a Swift-appropriate bracelet bar. It was time to part ways. Althea lifted her wrist, which had three bracelets she had made, each with the initials “TS,” and offered one to LaSpata. He accepted, and offered one in return.
It was the most public setting one could imagine, and yet the most private celebrity wedding, in recent memory, of such a size, completely shrouded in secrecy. Manhattan was alive with sailors in town for Fleet Week, soccer fans visiting from the world over to watch the World Cup and tourists in town to see the tall ships in the harbor for the Fourth of July. The heat, which peaked at 100 degrees, also lent a level of intensity to the day.
The president commented on it, and little girls came from neighboring states to watch it. Only Taylor Swift, the woman whose songwriting has inspired fans young and old and whose love life the public has watched, criticized and cooed at over the years, could have a wedding that would bring together such a scene.
Outside Madison Garden, Zeinab Yassine, 13, from Long Island, watched a caravan of black vehicles ferrying guests to the wedding with her mother. Soon, she spotted Hargitay roll down the window to wave to fans.
Most of all, Yassine was happy for Swift and her then-husband-to-be Travis Kelce.
“They’re so cute,” she said. “I’m so happy she finally found love.”
There is an intangible thing that happens when groups of Swifties get together, even if they are strangers: an immediate bond, an easy shorthand talking about favorite songs, albums and boyfriends. It is like realizing you have a good mutual friend with someone you’re just meeting for the first time. Except, in this case, the friend is a megastar you have not technically met.
Tammy Bogard, a sales associate from Dallas, said she had attended the Eras tour in London, the first show after a thwarted terror attack in Vienna that forced Swift to cancel her shows there. The London show was an emotional experience for Bogard, 54, who said she was then just a burgeoning fan.
She was impressed by the show, but was even more moved by the crowd.
“It’s the other Swifties, that’s the thing you can’t describe to people,” she said. Bogard went on to see the tour again and now considers herself a full-fledged Swiftie, even giving a Times reporter a friendship bracelet, the wearable trinkets that are traded among the star’s fan base.
That friendly energy was present outside the Garden on Friday, as crowds of fans congregated hoping to catch a glimpse of Swift. At a barricade along Seventh Avenue, a group of fans sang “Love Story” while news cameras filmed them.
The list of celebrities spotted heading into the event was dizzying: Benson Boone, Ethan Hawke, Jason Sudeikis. Each had a connection to a song or to a chapter in Swift or Kelce’s lives. Boone opened for her on tour; Hawke starred in a music video and Sudeikis is a fan of Kelce’s team, the Kansas City Chiefs.
Shortly after 7:30 p.m., their nuptials became official when a sign broke the news outside the arena: “JUST&T MARRIED.” Not long after, the skies opened and poured down rain.
Soon, the White House weighed in with what appeared to be a slight: a post on social media with a digitally altered version of the sign outside the Garden saying, “Trump Is Your President.”
Her fans were buoyant. Two camp friends, Gray O’Sullivan, 18, and Frankie Root, 19, came to see the spectacle together. Root said that she had been at the Eras Tour and had loved Swift since 2014, when her album “1989” was released.
“She really understands me,” Root said. “When I’m having a hard day and I listen to her, it immediately makes me feel better.”
Sarah Mead and her 10-year-old daughter, Sunniva, who live in Brooklyn, were on their way to see the New York Philharmonic and stopped at the Garden with handmade signs referencing Swift’s lyrics: She will walk into M.S.G. and make the whole place shimmer.
“We’re hoping that Taylor will see us,” Ms. Mead said.
Not everyone was feeling that love outside the Garden, however,
Tyler Guilizia, a 23-year-old who was searching for a bathroom with his friend, asked police officers in front of the Garden: “Is this all for Taylor Swift’s concert — uh, wedding?” He gestured at the blocks of barricades.
Many streets were shut down around Penn Station, the busy train station beneath the Garden, annoying plenty of pedestrians and commuters, many of whom shouted at police officers to ask for directions and stormed off.
Fans also peppered officers with questions about the wedding. They did not offer details, but a female officer responded when fans asked her favorite song.
“‘Getaway Car,’” she said, smiling.
Eduardo Ramirez and Mamie Borres were standing on Seventh Avenue peering out at the Garden as the rain subsided on Friday night. Borres, 30, said she had been standing in front of the arena when the video screen flashed the marriage announcement.
“Not everybody noticed immediately,” she said. But then, there was a scramble of phones and cameras as excited fans filmed the sign, she said.
Soon after, thunder began to boom and rain poured down, forcing her to seek shelter.
After the storm, Borres, a teacher who lives in Alexandria, Va., returned to her post watching the venue in the hope of seeing, well, anything. West of the arena, the sunset colored the sky in glorious shades of purple and orange.
And lest you think there isn’t a Swift lyric for every occasion, may we direct you to her song “End Game.”
“After the storm, something was born on the Fourth of July.”
Sarah Lyon and Erin McCann contributed reporting.
‘He knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring and said … ’
Before the marriage comes the engagement. An engagement is the dramatic climax to one of Swift’s best-known songs, “Love Story” (2008).
The young lovers in the song are dubbed Romeo and Juliet, and their story starts a bit like the familiar tragedy, with plenty of sneaking around as Juliet’s father objects to their union.
But Swift’s story takes a sharp turn from the potentially tragic to the gloriously joyful when, just after Juliet has expressed how alone she feels, the music soars, and “He knelt to the ground and pulled out a ring, and said, ‘Marry me, Juliet.’” (Don’t worry, he also straightened things out with her dad.)
In her contemporary era, Swift deals with a proposal in a more oblique manner. In “The Tortured Poets Department” (2024), after detailing her imperfect relationship with one of those tortured poets, she sings: “At dinner, you take my ring off my middle finger and put it on the one people put wedding rings on. And that’s the closest I’ve come to my heart exploding.”
‘Speak Now’ or forever hold your peace.
“Speak Now” (2010) is set at a wedding. Swift’s narrator is not the bride. Nevertheless, she will play a key role in the ceremony, in this, one of her greatest story songs.
It seems that Swift’s invitation was rescinded. But she has no qualms about “rudely barging in on a white veil occasion” because she is sure this marriage is not the right thing for the groom. (“You wish it was me, don’t you?”)
The drama builds: “The organ starts to play a song that sounds like a death march, and I am hiding in the curtains.” How will it end?
“I stand up with shaky hands, all eyes on me, horrified looks from everyone in the room.”
But: Hooray! It ends happily. The groom comes to his senses, sheds his tux, and slips out the back door to meet her.
In a 2013 episode of the television comedy “New Girl,” Swift guest stars as the character Elaine and seems to live out those lyrics when she interrupts a wedding that isn’t meant to be. The groom declares his love for Swift’s character and carries her out of the hall.
But marriage is not always the answer.
In the song “Fifteen” (2008), Swift swears to marry a boy someday, but soon learns that “I didn’t know who I was supposed to be at 15.”
In “Champagne Problems” (2020), she leaves the wrong man with “your mom’s ring in your pocket.” (“She would’ve made such a lovely bride. What a shame she’s stuck in her head.”)
In “Lover” (2019), she vows to be with a man “forever and ever” but as a lover; no legal ceremony is mentioned.
After more than an hour, Capozziello gave up and returned home. An episode of “Love Island” and a night on her cozy couch awaited her. Still, her enthusiasm for the couple’s nuptials lingered. “New York City is the mecca,” she said, adding that she’s excited for this wedding to see Swift happy.
Among those star-struck fans making their rounds on Franklin Street on Friday were sisters Yue Qing, 23, and Yue Ying Low, 21. They flew in from Singapore with their parents and learned that their trip coincided with the wedding. Both had attended the “Eras” tour in Singapore after camping out overnight for concert tickets.
“I started because of the music, but I stayed because of her personality. I think she has a good heart,” said Yue Qing Low, who also goes by YQ, noting the $26 million donated ahead of the wedding as an example.
Yue Ying Low shared that visiting TriBeCa was already on their itinerary, along with Cornelia Street, inspired by the Swift song. The trip was planned several months ago, but the wedding made it extra special. “We didn’t plan to come to New York for the wedding, but somehow, our days just collided with the wedding so it’s very cool,” she said. They also had planned to stop by Madison Square Garden to check out the celebrations late Friday.
Michelle and Jason Joyce, who frequent Manhattan from Philadelphia, were in a festive mood in nearby SoHo and decided to stop by. Michelle is more of a Swiftie, whereas Jason Joyce, new to the Swift fan club, considers himself more of a Kelce fan.
“I definitely thought MSG was a decoy, and here we are,” said Michelle, who has been following the celebrity sightings in the area, like Gigi Hadid and Bradley Cooper, on Instagram.
“It’s very exciting,” she said. “My friends are very jealous. I’m sending them boots-on-the-ground updates.”
Ishani Desai contributed reporting.
Still, the choice of one of the most storied French couture houses for his wedding suit, albeit one with a buzzy new designer, is a notable move for the groom, who likes to stand out and isn’t afraid of taking risks with his clothes. Occasionally outrageous dressing — worn with a grin — has become part of his brand, and he understood early on how fashion could be used to build it.
Last month, Mike Amiri, a designer whose work he often wears, described Kelce’s attitude this way: “He’ll pick the most ’70s-fitting suit. He’s not scared. My kids will come down and say ‘Dad, he’s getting roasted on social,’ and Travis is like: ‘It’s good. It’s good. It’s everywhere.’”
Kelce’s style evolution has mirrored his rising profile in pop culture and the growing fashion influence in football. As a relatively unknown third-round pick of the Chiefs in 2013, Kelce appeared on the day of the N.F.L. draft in an anonymous teal quarter-zip, looking very much like a college jock. In his early years in the league, he favored the long T-shirts, slim distressed jeans and hoodies that were typical of the streetwear of the time.
But as brands began to see tunnel walks as an opportunity to get their designs in front of a mass audience, and as players (and their agents) saw an opportunity to use clothes to craft their image, Kelce became more style-conscious. He arrived at the games wearing Heron Preston and Thom Browne and sat front row at Browne’s spring-summer runway show in Paris in 2020.
When he started dating Taylor Swift in the summer of 2023, his style choices drew even more attention. Those choices were mostly his own: While he used red-carpet stylists for special appearances, his pregame and date-night looks were ones he put together himself. (It’s an approach to dressing not unlike that of Swift, who has a stylist but also seems to pick her own off-duty outfits, often with equally mixed results.)
Kelce has worn runway names like Jil Sander, Marni and Chanel, as well as indie designers like R13 and Collina Strada. He was especially fond of one Collina Strada design in particular: crushed-velvet cargo pants, of which he owned at least three pairs. In September he will take on his most fashion-centric role yet, as an ambassador and “creative collaborator” for Tommy Hilfiger, bringing what the designer called (in something of an understatement) “his fearless, fun-loving and bold take on Prep Made Current” to the brand.
Occasionally, that take has sometimes activated observers’ inner fashion critic. He’s played around with head-to-toe sequins, jaunty prints and pants of various widths. Still, it was a pair of bland khaki Ralph Lauren shorts — very Hyannis Port, very preppy coded, worn in the Instagram post in which he appears on bended knee before Swift, who was also in Ralph Lauren — that prompted some of the strongest reactions. Some wondered: Was it perhaps a bit tacky to propose in shorts?
They were missing the point. It was a carefully chosen bit of couples image-making; the perfect costume for Kelce’s role as the “gym teacher” to Swift’s “English teacher.” And a harbinger, perhaps, of what is next as two of the most powerful brands in pop culture become one.
After all, this party, like that party, claimed what seemed to be a highly calculated and cross-pollinated power guest list, with attendees from the worlds of sports, Hollywood, music, comedy and society arriving one after another in their black Sprinter vans. Here, Karlie Kloss and Josh Kushner; there, Hugh Grant! Here, assorted members of the Kansas City Chiefs; there, Bradley Cooper and Gigi Hadid! Here, Sombr; there, George Stephanopoulos. Here, Nikki Glaser; there Dakota Johnson. You get the idea. The magic is in the mix, and the mix doesn’t get much more heady than this.
This party, like that party, may be taking place behind closed doors with a ban on phones and social media, but it has an equally rabid audience of outside oglers just waiting to live vicariously and comment on who went with whom and who was wearing what.
But this party, unlike that party, eschewed the exaggerated costume dramas that adorn the guests of the Met. Rumors that top hats and opera gloves were going to be de rigueur turned out happily not to be true, and rather than tempting fate and meme culture with a theme teetering on the edge between elegant and absurd (in the Met’s case, more than occasionally tipping over it, and not in a good way), the black-tie dress code of the Kelce-Swift nuptials seemed to have freed the attendees from trying to push the boundaries of taste, allowing them to just define fancy as they saw fit.
Ed Sheeran in his sky blue suit and white T-shirt aside, most of the men wore classic tuxedos. Even the rapper MGK went with a mostly traditional penguin suit (albeit with a steel wallet chain hanging from his belt loops). As for the women, the predominant colors seemed to be pink, gold and black; the most common materials lace and lamé, with a bit of sparkle on top.
Swift, who has not only attended the Met Gala but also served as a co-host in 2016, clearly was taking notes.
Indeed, despite shutting down a chunk of Midtown on a busy New York weekend, she and Kelce have thus far emerged largely unscathed from their very public display of wealth and just-for-the-select-few fabulousness, while the same could not be said of May’s Met. Widely criticized for its tone-deaf display of ostentatiousness, that benefit has started to seem less a joyful celebration for a good cause than an ends-justify-the-means, morally empty extravaganza.
This, on the other hand, is more like a supersized (if pretend-secret) live-action version of a Disney fairy tale. The fact that Swift and Kelce donated $26 million to various charities probably helped.
It’s a coup for Anderson, especially following Dua Lipa’s choice of Dior rival Chanel for her recent wedding. It’s a win for Delphine Arnault, the chief executive of Dior, who fought to bring Anderson to the brand. And it’s confirmation that Swift, whose taste tends to the fairy tale rather than the avant-garde, eccentric or understated, and has never seemingly bought into the snobbism of the high fashion world, was thinking about posterity as much as princesses when it comes to this particular event.
Getting the hot new designer at one of the most storied couture houses in Paris to design your dress, like situating your wedding in a giant arena smack in the middle of one of the busiest cities in the world, on one of the busiest weekends, is a flex.
Pointedly, this is the first time Swift has worn an Anderson-for-Dior design, though she wore a tartan corset and train look by his predecessor, Maria Grazia Chiuri, to the 2024 MTV Video Music Awards and since April has been carrying an assortment of Dior bags.
Some had guessed that Ralph Lauren might be the designer of choice, in part because of his credentials as the ur-American designer, and in part because the wedding took place on the July 4 weekend, and both Swift and Kelce had worn Lauren for their engagement photo shoot.
Others bet on Schiaparelli, because Swift had worn a white dress by the designer to the Grammys in 2024 — though that, along with the fact that both Lauren Sánchez Bezos and Dua Lipa had worn Schiaparelli to their weddings, seemed to mitigate against it. Vivienne Westwood was also a contender, because, again, the Grammys, and because Swift clearly loves the romance and historicism of a corset and a swagged skirt, and no brand does it better.
Interestingly, even Vogue, in its speculation about who might make the dress, had not mentioned Dior, though The Hollywood Reporter publicly floated the brand as a possibility earlier this week. At the time, Dior, not surprisingly, declined to comment.
The statement from Swift’s representative described the gown as Anderson’s “first couture wedding dress for a world-renowned celebrity.” But Anderson has designed wedding dresses for private clients before. In June, the model Ming Xi wore a long-sleeved boatnecked Dior couture gown with a back that opened like the wings of a bird for her marriage to the entrepreneur Mario Ho, while later that month the Brazilian influencer Elisa Zarzur followed suit in an elaborate embroidered lace Dior couture bodysuit with another open and winged back under a grand satin skirt for her nuptials.
Anderson had also ended his first couture show, held in January, with a wedding dress: a one-shouldered look, covered in hundreds of translucent petals, like a cross between Titania and a snow angel. Perhaps it was something of an audition.
If so, it worked.
“The ceremony joined both families together and was officiated by friend Adam Sandler,” the statement said. Both Swift and Kelce wore looks from Christian Dior, designed by Jonathan Anderson. Swift also wore custom Christian Louboutin shoes and jewelry from Cartier.
The marriage was also announced on a video screen outside Madison Square Garden, where Swift and Kelce were holding a star-studded event on Friday.
“JUST&T MARRIED,” the sign read.
During an extreme heat wave, Swift and Kelce hosted two events at the famed Manhattan arena. On Thursday, they invited about 100 guests to attend a rehearsal dinner at the Infosys Theater, a venue inside the Garden, according to an internal police memo with details about the gatherings that was previously reported by The New York Times.
Friday’s event was a much grander affair, with around 1,000 invitees, many of them celebrities streaming in from around the world.
The guest list spanned worlds of music and sports and beyond — like the bride and groom themselves — and included Bradley Cooper and Gigi Hadid, Selena Gomez, Reese Witherspoon and Dakota Johnson. Also in attendance were the actors Hugh Grant, Ethan Hawke, Mariska Hargitay and Jason Sudeikis; musicians including the Chainsmokers, Ed Sheeran, Sombr, the Chicks and Benson Boone; and National Football League stars like Cooper Kupp and Chris Jones.
Their nuptials were hotly anticipated for months, from tabloid speculations about dates and venues to prediction markets taking bets on the details of the big day. The event, a union of two superstars in their respective fields — music and sports — was hailed by some fans as a kind of American royal wedding.
The couple’s relationship began with a missed connection in 2023, after Kelce tried and failed to give Swift his number at an Eras Tour concert stop at his home turf, Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Mo. He later lamented his failed effort to reach Swift in an episode of “New Heights,” the podcast he hosts with his brother, the retired professional football player Jason Kelce.
It caught Swift’s attention, and she found it adorable and “metal as hell” that Kelce had called her out in that July episode, she told Time magazine.
In a later interview on “New Heights,” Swift described Kelce as having thrown a “man-tantrum” when the initial meet cute didn’t work out. “It was such a wild romantic gesture to just be like, ‘I want to date you,’” she added.
The singer and the athlete began hanging out soon after Kelce’s “man-tantrum,” away from the public spotlight.
“So we actually had a significant amount of time that no one knew,” Swift told Time magazine about the relationship, “which I’m grateful for, because we got to get to know each other.” She added, “By the time I went to that first game, we were a couple.”
Swift became a regular and highly photographed fixture on the N.F.L. circuit, including when she made a hasty trip from Tokyo, where she was performing on the Eras Tour, to Las Vegas to watch Kelce and his teammates win the Super Bowl in 2024. Kelce, in turn, made an appearance onstage in June that year during a London stop on Swift’s tour, donning a top hat for a Vaudevillian number during the “Tortured Poets Department” set of the show. (Some fans have speculated that several tracks on that album are about Kelce, including “The Alchemy,” a love song peppered with football references.)
The pair announced their engagement last August on Instagram with a series of photos captioned, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married,” with a firecracker emoji. (Or, put in Swiftie sleuth parlance, an emoji of TNT, for trinitrotoluene, or Taylor ‘n’ Travis — get it?) The post also included a snippet of the song “So High School,” another track from “The Tortured Poets Department,” which fans believe is about Kelce.
In the photos, Kelce is on bended knee before Swift under an elaborate floral arch. Both are wearing clothing by Ralph Lauren. On Swift’s finger is what appears to be a bezel-set diamond on a yellow gold band.
The engagement ring, designed by Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry in New York, features a stone estimated to be between seven and nine carats and could have cost anywhere from $250,000 to $500,000, Ann Grimmett, the vice president for merchandising at Jared Jewelers, told The New York Times. Swift said on the British radio show “Heart Breakfast” that she had sent a video of Lubeck’s work to Kelce over a year before he proposed. She was touched that Kelce had been paying close attention.
The photos set off a frenzy online, as fans speculated wildly about what the couple’s wedding might look like, parsing old interviews with Kelce and even Swift’s song lyrics for clues.
“I actually don’t know people who have gotten married in the fall,” Kelce said in a 2025 episode of “New Heights. “All the weddings I’ve been to, and all my friends do it in the summer.” In a different episode, he told Jimmy Fallon the couple were “live music people.”
Rumors initially swirled that the couple would wed in Rhode Island, where Swift owns a home in the Watch Hill neighborhood of Westerly, known as Holiday House, which she purchased in 2013 for $17.75 million in a reported all-cash deal.
The mansion is heavily featured in Swift’s song “The Last Great American Dynasty,” which tells the story of the home’s original owner, the oil heiress Rebekah Harkness. Swift has also been known to throw celebrity-filled parties at the estate, particularly to celebrate the Fourth of July.

White House Trolls Taylor Swift Wedding on Instagram (Sort of)

Sandler hosted, Trump roasted.
On Friday, the White House was in Taylor Swift overload. They posted a meme that appropriated a photo of Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding at Madison Square Garden.
In an Instagram posting Friday night, the White House mocked the Garden’s digital billboard featuring Swift and Kelce singing “JUST&T married” with the words “Trump is Your President” along with similar text “It has happened!”. This addition makes perfect sense if you only think about it in less than two seconds.
This post is a parody of Swift’s 2023 poster, which featured a collage with all-American imagery like Iwo Jia and Miracle on Ice. The caption read “America’s Eras Tour.” Taylor’s line “It has been a long while coming” was included in the post.
Swift’s sensitivity to the idea of a wedding during a holiday seemed to be a concern for the president. The White House posted on Friday two videos that repurposed Swift to highlight moments of American history. The White House posted two videos on Friday, both of which repurposed Swift’s music. One video announced “Next in America’s Eras Tour”, while the other promoted “America’s Greatest Hits one era at time.”
This was a pretty mild celebrity injury compared to other Trump’s actions. Just this week, he released an AI video in which he posed as a physician treating Robert De Niro and Julia Roberts for the “Trump Derangement Syndrome.” It even had hints of an uneasy blessing. It’s for a good reason.
Trump can be safe in his decision to target liberal actors, and it is an easy way for him to score points with his supporters. Swift is a more difficult target for Trump. He knows many people who support his candidates in the swing states look up to Swift and her liberal beliefs, and a fight with Swift could lead them to vote against him. He has expressed his good wishes to the couple (but also said they wouldn’t last).
Swift may or may well not have intended it, but her choice to host a large concert with a lot of musicians on the weekend Trump had planned for his own concert may also have come across as a slight. Even though the president planned a large Freedom 250 concert, musicians such as Martina McBride (hardly a progressive firebrand) and Bret Micheals — who are hardly progressives themselves — dropped out of it because they did not want to be linked with the partisan event.
At the Garden, Stevie Nicks and Paul McCartney planned to perform with the biggest popstar in the country on Friday. In front of an all-star lineup of liberal performers, Billy Madison will make a marriage pronouncement in the first ever pop concert in history.
Swift has an uncanny ability to influence Trump. She can get him to give her free rent and live in his head. Swift clarified in 2024 that Trump had posted a fake of Swift endorsing her over Kamala, which led him to write: “I hate Taylor Swift!”
Swift has been relatively quiet during this period, but she did come out against Trump at the height of the BLM protests, in 2020. She accused him of “stoking fires of racism and white supremacy your entire presidency”, and vowed to vote him out of office in the autumn. Trump replied with comments about how he disliked her more and more. He would then say her liberal views will cause her to pay a “price…in the market”, a sum that she doesn’t seem to be spending.
Swift’s wedding of 1,000 people, which featured musical performances by the bride and groom on an arena-sized stage, would be exactly what Trump would enjoy if he were to oversee it.
The fact that he isn’t could well be the exact thing that makes him angry.

Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce and their joyous public courtship, which was portrayed as a blockbuster romantic comedy, have married. This marks a new chapter for Swift, who achieved the heights of pop music for over two decades with songs about broken hearts and girlhood.
Swift’s representative confirmed to CNN on Friday that Swift and Kelce had been married.
They chose to have Swift’s older brother Austin Swift as their “Man of Honor” and Kelce’s younger brother Jason Kelce as the best man.
Adam Sandler, an actor and close friend of the couple, officiated at the wedding ceremony which took place in Madison Square Garden before 1,000 guests.
The screen outside the Garden says “JUST&T Married” in purple.
Jonathan Anderson, the designer of Christian Dior Haute couture’s ceremony look for Swift and Kelce. Swift and Kelce “worked in close collaboration” on the looks. Swift complemented her outfit with Cartier jewellery and both Swift and Kelce wore Christian Louboutin custom shoes.
This milestone marks the culmination of a public romance, which has spanned from an unrequited meet-cute on a podcast through to Super Bowls and the Eras Tour.
It also comes after weeks of speculation about how and where they would hold what has become America’s Royal Wedding. Rumors have it that Swift and Kelce could celebrate their big day anywhere, from Swift’s Rhode Island house to Madison Square Garden. The latter, in recent times, was buzzing with excitement as preparations were made and guests arrived on Friday.
They started dating in the year 2023. The couple first met after Kelce spoke about being disappointed that he was not allowed to meet Swift during her Kansas City Eras Tour, and subsequently denied entry to Swift. Swift described this as a “metal” move.
Designer revealed
Taylor Swift, who recently married Travis Kelce, wore Christian Dior Haute couture, created by Jonathan Anderson during the wedding celebration held at Madison Square Garden, on Friday. This was according to Swift’s press release.
Dior and smaller American labels like Monse or Wiederhoeft were rumored to be possible designers of dresses. Both are part of her style rotation, for both on-stage and off-stage events.
Jonathan Anderson, the designer at Dior is renowned for his elaborate and mischievous creations. The atelier of this house is considered to be one of Paris’ finest. Melania Trump is a fan, while Rihanna wears its clothing for important publicity events.
Swift’s wedding gown is a staple of her music videos. The dress has been shown in a number of them as a strapless bra with a princessy, grand skirt.
She isn’t known for being a style icon but her stylist Joseph Cassell has shown that she prefers feminine hourglass dresses, often strapless, which are classic Hollywood, even if they can be a bit camp.
Tree Paine, Swift’s representative, said that the couple’s custom-made shoes were made by Christian Louboutin. Swift also wore Cartier jewellery.
The New York Times reports that Taylor Swift and her longtime friend Stevie Nicks are expected to perform together at Swift’s wedding.
Swift and Nicks did a soundcheck in the Garden today, according to a person familiar with the event. A man working at the event, who was heard saying Swift has already arrived for the celebrations and will perform today with Nicks. The Times reported.
After the two performed at the Grammy Awards in 2010, their friendship grew. Fleetwood Mac’s singer, known as “Fairy Godmother Of Rock ‘n’ Roll”, has been Swift’s confidante ever since.
Swift has praised Nicks’s work for opening the door for women artists. She even mentions her in her track 2024, “Clara Bow”.
You look just like Stevie Nicks from 1975, with the same hairstyle and lips. The crowd goes crazy at her fingers. “Half moonshine and a total eclipse”

Taylor Swift, Travis Kelce and Ed Sheeran were among the star-studded list of guests who arrived at Madison Square Garden for their wedding on Friday.
Swift and Sheeran are close friends who have collaborated frequently. They’ve appeared together on albums and performed at concerts.
Sheeran’s and Swift’s relationship goes deeper. He also opened her Red Tour in 2012 and considers that his first date took place over a decade earlier at Swift’s 4th of July party.
Swift and Lopez have performed together as well. Swift was surprised by Lopez’s concertgoers in 2013 when she sang her song “Jenny From the Block” at the Staples Center, formerly the Staples Center of Los Angeles.
It was a long and difficult process to compile the list of guests for Taylor Swift’s wedding with Travis Kelce.
Guests include Kelce’s Kansas City Chiefs team-mates, as well as sports personalities like NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, and celebrities like Gwen Stefani and Fergie. There are also some guests who may be less well-known to casual observers, but have a connection to Kelce and Boone.
Swift’s “Fortnight” music video from 2024 featured actor Ethan Hawke.
Hugh Grant isn’t in any Swift videos, but he has been a Swiftie for years. The actor and wife Anna Elisabet Eberstein attended the Eras Tour, which left a lasting impression. He took to X and thanked Kelce for the “incredible show” and praised Swift’s “gigantic girlfriend.”
Jenny Han, an author has been seen. The author of “The Summer I Turned Pretty,” Amazon’s hit television show featuring several Swift songs, wrote the series.
Jason Sudeikis, Kansas City native and Chiefs supporter, was also spotted at the event, along with comedian Nikki Glaser. She is a Swiftie, having attended a number of Eras Tour concerts.
According to an article in the New Yorker, Swift wrote a letter of support to celebrity chef Alison Roman years ago.
What an amazing party.
