Watch: Singles pray to a goddess for love in Bangkok

In a Bangkok mall, a shrine dedicated to the goddess Lakshmi has become an area where young people pray for love and happiness. People describe the person in detail they wish to win over while praying. They believe the goddess will assist them. Some suggest that you bring a photograph of the person with you so that she can “see your face”. BBC asked people who were visiting the shrine what they were asking Lakshmi. Farooq Abdullah attack: Video shows moment gunshot misses Kashmir ex-chief minister

A CCTV video from a wedding held in Jammu, in Indian-administered Kashmir, shows a man shooting a gun towards the former chief minister Farooq Abdallah. Abdullah was not injured in the attack that took place Wednesday evening. The BBC reported that the police have taken Kamal Singh Jamwal into custody, and are investigating the incident. Abdullah, a five-time chief of Indian-administered Kashmir and president of Jammu & Kashmir National Conference – a prominent regional party – is also a prominent political leader.

Omar Abdullah shared the following on social media:

“Allah is kind.” My father’s shave was close. It is not clear what happened, but a man in a loaded gun was able reach point-blank and fire.

Former India Captain Kohli is regarded by many as one of history’s greatest 50-over batsmen. He was part of India’s last World Cup winning team in 2011. He played a major role in the Champions Trophy triumph of last year. The 37-year old has retired from India’s Test and T20 sides but continues to play for their 50-over team. Kohli said on the RCB Podcast that he would be seen if he could add value to his environment and if the environment felt like he could add value.

If I’m forced to feel that I need to prove myself and my value, then I’m out of there.

“When I arrive to the game, I put my mind down and work as hard as anyone else, if not more. I play the game correctly.

“You want me running from boundary to boundary in an ODI match for 40 overs, I’ll do it without complaint. Because I prepare accordingly.

I prepare for it. I know that I am going to field 50 balls every ball, as if this is the last ball of my career. I will bat and run between wickets in the same way. I will do all I can for my team.

If I have to prove myself in a situation where I need to prove that I am worth it, then I will not be able to do well there. And I’m very clear about that in my mind.
