‘Afterlife With Archie’ Series Based On Comic Ordered By Disney+
Disney+ gave the greenlight to Afterlife With Archie, a drama-drama series of an hour-long length based on Roberto Aguirre Sacasa’s and Francesco Francavilla’s best-selling Archie series. The streamer will premiere the series on Halloween in 2027.
This order was made nine months after the script to series commitment at Disney+. The same people are behind Afterlife with Archie as they were for Riverdale on the CW and Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. They include Greg Berlanti, Berlanti Productions by Greg Berlanti and Warner Bros. Television. Aguirre Sacasa is the writer.
Aguirre Sacasa’s Afterlife with Archie, based on Archie Comics characters and a horror movie of the same name, turns Riverdale in the United States into an apocalypse where zombies are the least frightening thing. The only scary part is surviving your teenage years. After a spell cast by a teen witch backfires and unleashes an army of possessed zombies on Riverdale, Archie, his friends, and their romances are put to the test.
Executive produced by Aguirre Sacasa, Jimmy Gibbons, and Sarah Schechter via Muckle Man, Greg Berlanti and Leigh London Redman through Berlanti Productions, and Jon Goldwater from Archie Comics Studios.
Ayo Davies, President, Disney Kids & Family, said: “Afterlife With Archie is about much more than zombies. It’s the friendships and loyalty that make Riverdale so worth fighting for.” “Roberto Greg Sarah Jon all have a great love for the characters and together they created something both thrilling and emotional.” This new version of The gang will make fans scream and fall in love.
Aguirre Sacasa is the producer of this film. Warner Bros. TV is launching its third live-action Archie Comics adaptation, and it’s the first time that the series has been launched on the original outlet. Riverdale began at Fox, then moved to the CW. Chilling Adventures of Sabrina was first on the CW and later moved to Netflix. Katy Keene, a spin-off of Riverdale on the CW was a brief series.
Warner Bros. TV has also produced its first show for Disney+. Disney+ is increasingly opening their slate of shows to other studios.
Channing Dungey is Chairman and CEO of Warner Bros. Television Group, WBD US Networks. He said, “The Riverdale world and ‘Archie,’ are a gift that never ends.” We are all thrilled to bring Roberto Aguirre Sacasa’s story to life in partnership with Berlanti Productions and Disney+.
Aguirre Sacasa was a writer for film, television and comic books. He had written Archie Comics’ two most popular horror series: Afterlife With Archie, and Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina when he became the Chief Creative Officer of the publisher in March 2014. He continues to play this role, while expanding the Archie TV Universe which debuted with Riverdale in 2017.
This was the first comic. Aguirre Sacasa stated that Before Riverdale and Chilling Adventures of Sabrina there was Afterlife With Archie. I worked on it with Francesco Francavilla, the most talented horror artist of the industry. Afterlife is a dream come true for me. I’m thrilled to be able to work with the incredible team at Disney+, Berlanti Productions and WB, as well as Jon Goldwater and his Archie Family, on a television series. It’s time to pray for Archie and his friends Betty, Veronica, and all the others, because THE ZOMBIES ARE COMING!!! !”
Berlanti Prods. WBTV will also be airing the new Scooby-Doo! Netflix has a live-action show, HBO’s drama pilot How To Survive without Me, Stillwater based on Skybound comics, with a series agreement at Amazon. All American just started its final and eighth season at the CW.
Berlanti Schechter and Berlanti said, “We’re so excited to be reunited with Roberto for this thrilling series which takes us back to the Riverdale universe that we love. We are grateful to Disney+ and WBTV that they have given us the chance to revisit our favourite characters in an exciting and unique way.” We would like to thank Jon Goldwater, who has allowed us to continue playing within the beloved “Archie” universe. He also trusted us to bring Archie’s stories to life.
Aguirre Sacasa is represented by WME, Sloane, Offer, Weber & Dern, and CAA. Berlanti, Schechter, and Goldwater are repped through CAA.

Kimora Lee Simmons Has No Plans to Give Ex Tim Leissner Custody, Filing Was Clerical Error
Kimora Lee Simmons does not plan to grant her estranged spouse Tim Leissner the primary custody of their child… TMZ learned that a court document suggesting this was a clerical mistake.
Sources with direct knowledge confirm to TMZ that Kimora is still the sole guardian of Wolfe, 11, since their divorce in 2020.
Kim responded to Tim’s petition for divorce by checking the box that Tim would have the primary custody. This was an error and appeared to be the result of a typographical mistake.
Sources say that Tim has been in prison for several years now, serving time as a result of his involvement in the multi-billion dollar corruption scandal. He admitted previously to having faked divorce papers to marry Kimora when he still had a legal marriage to Judy Chan, his first spouse.
TMZ reported that Kimora’s divorce filing was a cause for concern because it contradicted Tim’s initial divorce petition. Kimora appeared to have gone further than Tim, who requested joint physical and legal custody. She checked the box that Tim should be granted primary custody.
According to our source, Kimora filed the same documents as the rest. She asked for the court’s ability to award Tim support to be terminated, she requested to receive support in her place, and she also sought legal fees.

‘Seinfeld’ Star Accused of Inappropriate Behavior With Minor
Jason Alexander, the Seinfeld actor who appeared in Funny or Die’s 2012 sketch “Funny or Die”, is being accused of inappropriate behavior.
Courtney Stodden – who became a reality television star after she married actor Doug Hutchison at the age of 16 and 51 – posted an Instagram screengrab criticizing Alexander for repeatedly rubbing his cellphone across her breasts during filming a parody video mocking Dr. Phil or other daytime talks shows.
A representative of Alexander has been contacted by The Daily Beast for comment.
She continued, “The more I age, the harder it is for me to comprehend this.” Jason Alexander repeatedly touched my breasts with his mobile phone while telling me that there was “no signal” in my head, but “plenty signal” in my chest. He joked later in the sketch that if I reached 18, he would like to “have his way” with me and take me behind the sofa.
Stodden divorced Hutchison after nine years in 2020. She is now a campaigner against laws that allow minors to be married before they are 18 and posted this moment to help California pass AB1267. This bill just passed on the floor of the California assembly. It would prohibit child marriages by setting the minimum legal age at 18 years old, with no exceptions for parents or judges. Stodden’s parents supported her marriage to Hutchison.
Stodden’s mother gave her consent for Stodden to marry Hutchison, making the marriage legal. Stodden claims that her husband “groomed her” and verbally abused her after their marriage. She wrote that the arrangement was what led her to have an experience with Alexander.
I was underage. She wrote, “I didn’t have legal authority to decide whether or not I wanted to take part.” The contracts were all signed by adults. Doug received his paycheck. The production continued. The only other child was me. “I felt like I was the only child in the room.”
Stodden was portrayed as an enthusiastic participant in the media’s coverage at the time. ABC News ran the clip with the title “Jason Alexander Gropes Courtney Stodden In ‘Funny or Die. Other media outlets covered the incident without mentioning Stodden’s age. HuffPost was an oddity at the time. It wrote that the sketch “makes you want to shout, ‘Dude! She’s 17!”
E! News reported a statement from Stodden’s manager, who said that at the time the couple could “take something and enjoy it and laugh about it and be okay with it”.
Green Mile’s actor, now aged 66, denied repeatedly her allegations about their relationship and said they were financially motivated. The actor has said that they are “really in love.”
