Jacob Elordi was not apologetic in his comments on the filming of “Euphoria”.
Fans are eagerly awaiting the long-awaited Season 3 and the actor’s comments have provided a rare insight into how the series is put together.
Elordi revealed that scripts are not always fully fleshed-out. He plays the troubled high school footballer Nate Jacobs. He compared it to “throwing sh*t at the wall” and seeing what sticks.

As the chatter about “Euphoria”, ramps up again, one detail of Elordi’s past interview is catching new attention… and raising eyebrows.
Elordi revealed months before the Season 3 premiere that scripts were not always fully mapped during filming. Pages would sometimes arrive day by day. This meant he was forced to rely heavily on instinct when filling in the emotional and narrative gaps in real time for Nate.
This admission has a different impact now that the new season has finally aired. Reddit users criticized the approach. Some called it “really strange,” while others offered more practical explanations such as tighter leak control and last-minute rewrites.
This latter theory has also brought creator Sam Levinson to the discussion, with some viewers speculating that he may have adjusted scenes on the spot.
The actor said that limited preparation time shaped his performance

Elordi revealed in the same interview that he only had a short amount of time to prepare for his scenes. This is a drastic change from the more systematic process he used before.
“I didn’t have time to prepare for it,” he explained. “I didn’t even have scripts,” he said. “I had to make a choice because I just had creative discussions with Sam.”
This lack of preparation worked in his favor. Elordi relied on instinct to approach scenes, as he didn’t have a script to analyze.
“I had no choice but to act, and I was able to be completely free, because I just threw stuff at the wall, seeing what stuck,” he said.

Elordi made it clear that he was a complex person long before Euphoria grew to include multiple seasons.
In 2021, when speaking with WMagazine, the actor was not shy, calling the character “an emotional terrorist…a narcissist…a sociopath…a freak.”
Years later, the connection hasn’t faded. Elordi said that despite Nate’s darker characteristics, stepping into the role has shaped him unexpectedly, especially in understanding perspectives far different from his own.
“I love him,” said he. “I act in order to understand and express a different experience from my own. I learned a lot from him about patience and empathy, which is odd for a character of that kind.

Elordi reflects on the lessons he learned from playing Nate in “Euphoria” and says that it has helped him gain a better understanding of human behavior. The actor believes that more people should adopt this perspective in their everyday lives.
The rising A-lister said that studying and deconstructing a character on that level was a rare privilege but also a valuable exercise that goes beyond acting. According to him, approaching real-life interactions with the same curiosity can lead to a better understanding, whether we’re talking to people close to us, or strangers online.
“If we all approached those relationships as an actor would break down a character, then I think we’d be a little more calm,” Elordi said. “I can look at what he does, and maybe not understand it but I can at least empathize.”
