Variety exclusively reports that a sequel to “How to Lose a Guy In 10 Days” is being developed at Paramount with the original actress Kate Hudson producing the project.
According to a close source, the development of the sequel has just begun. The cast, as well as several creative key roles, have yet to be chosen. Hudson’s co-star Matthew McConaughey and the filmmakers plan to reprise their original roles. The film is looking for a scriptwriter. Casting will be determined by the budget.
Stacey Sher will also produce with Hudson under her Shiny Penny banner. Sher has a long list of credits as a producer, including “Pulp fiction”, “Gattaca”, “Erin Brockovich”, “Vanilla Sky”, and “Django Unchained.”
Variety’s comment request was not responded to immediately by Hudson or McConaughey.
The Y2K nostalgia that is currently sweeping Hollywood seemed to make a sequel to “How to Lose a Guy.” The Devil Wears Prada 2, “Scary movie” and “Toy Story 5,” have all been huge box office successes in 2026. They were based on material from the late 1990s and early 2000s. Throwbacks don’t seem to be slowing either. The “Practical magic 2” and the “Focker-in-Law,” will be in theaters shortly, and Greta Gerwig’s “Narnia,” and “Shrek 5”, are scheduled for release by 2027.
The plot details of “How to Lose a Guy 2”, which is still in development, are not yet finalized. Original 2003 film followed the love story between Hudson’s magazine columnist Andie and McConaughey, who played a brooding advertising executive, Benjamin Barry. Andie seduces Benjamin as part of her research on modern dating. She then turns herself into the girlfriend who will make you regret your decision. Benjamin makes a bet with his boss that he will make Andie fall in love. He’s determined that things will stick, especially since he has a big campaign at stake. True love is born out of absurd situations. Donald Petrie is the director of this film. Kathryn Hahn is in the supporting cast, along with Adam Goldberg and Thomas Lennon. Michael Michele, Shalom Halow, Michael Michele, and Shalom Halow are also featured. It is considered a classic in the genre of rom-coms. The movie grossed almost $180 million on an estimated $50 million budget.
Hudson received her second Oscar nod for “Song Sung Blue” in 2025, which was the role she played. Her first nomination was for her role as Penny Lane, in Cameron Crowe’s “Almost Famous”. She also stars the Netflix sports comedy “Running Point”. Hudson is a producer, so it’s easy to imagine that she will be back in “How to Lose a Guy 2”.

Fox News has promoted Emily Compagno from the popular cable program “Outnumbered,” to “The Five”, a position that she will hold full time.
Fox revealed Monday that Compagno, along with Greg Gutfeld and Dana Perino, will join the “Five” in its official capacity on September 8, while Harold Ford Jr., Jessica Tarlov, and Jessica Tarlov continue to rotate as part of the liberal seat.
Compagno is stepping down from her position on the Fox network show “Outnumbered.” A rotating personality of the network will take her place until a permanent successor has been named.
The CEO of Fox News Media Suzanne Scott said: “Emily has a great deal of experience as a host. Her energy and talent make her stand out across Fox News Media. We are delighted to welcome Emily to our show.”
Compagno stated that she felt “honored to be a part of the show” after having appeared alongside the hosts for many years.
She said, “Having an official place at the table of what I believe to be the funniest show on TV is an amazing privilege.”

Compagno now has a permanent position on the show, which averaged over 3.6 million viewers during the second-quarter of the year and 322 000 viewers within the 25-54 age group.
Fox reported that the show, which celebrated its 15th birthday in July, was the most-watched cable news program for 19 straight quarters.
Compagno began his career at Fox News in 2018, before becoming the co-host for “Outnumbered” by 2021.

She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from the University of Washington, and she holds a Law degree from the University of San Francisco School of Law.

Gilbert, who is 62 years old, acknowledged that she did not personally know “Heroes'” actress Hayden Panettiere, but she took her death to heart as she pleaded for changes to the industry in a Substack post.

Ivanka attended Take Off Surf School in Santa Teresa and Playa Hermosa during a trip with her family. Jesus Zabala told CR Hoy, a local publication, that Ivanka had taken lessons at Take Off Surf School for over three years.
“She is a great surfer and has an excellent attitude,” Zabala stated at that time. Zabala explained to her that she had been temporarily kept out of the ocean during some of this visit because of large waves.
Ivanka later shared photos of herself catching waves in Costa Rica. She also posted glimpses on her social media. In her reflections on the trip, Ivanka wrote that she spent a week in nature with family and surfing under “golden sky”.
Her most recent outing provides a new perspective on how this hobby has changed. Ivanka, rather than just posing on a surfboard, was pictured standing in the waves, riding the waves, and recovering from any falls.

Hayden Panettiere’s boyfriend Brian Hickerson took domestic violence classes after being accused by TMZ of punching her in 2020.
Court documents in Brian Hayden’s Wyoming criminal case were obtained. Hayden had called the cops in L.A. months earlier to report him for alleged abuse. Officers say that they noticed marks on Hayden’s body and took him into custody.
Brian’s lawyers argued in court documents filed August 2020 that the warrant of arrest for Brian should be withdrawn.
Brian stated that he had obtained an evaluation on domestic violence from the Curran Seeley Foundation. He said he would “follow any recommendations.”
Curran Seeley Foundation is an outpatient drug rehab located in Wyoming. It provides services for “those directly and indirectly affected by the use of drugs” through its treatment and prevention programs.
Brian’s financial problems were also included in the documents. In his explanation, he said he “borrowed” money from relatives to pay the bond. Brian’s lawyer claimed that Brian didn’t have enough money to cover the cost of his travel to Wyoming from Los Angeles.
Brian’s criminal cases were resolved in a comprehensive manner. Brian was given a 360-day sentence, but 358 of those days were suspended. He also had to complete 12 months unsupervised probation.
As TMZ reported first, Brian had been accused of sending threatening texts to Hayden regarding cooperating with police.
According to Brian’s alleged message to Hayden, the text read: “Time to go war I suppose.”
In another text he allegedly said, “Even If I Sit in A Jail Cell For Ten Years.” He also appeared to have made other veiled threat about disclosing information about her, unless the case was dropped. The stuff I vaulted with my team overseas will be revealed the moment I set foot in prison. All that will do is to damage your reputation while clearing mine. Who cares about that?
Hayden and Brian have had a rocky romance for many years, as TMZ reported. Hayden received a restraining against Brian after the arrest in 2020, but they rekindled their romance a few years later. They were both together at an Airbnb when Hayden died of a suspected drug overdose.
