SDCC teaser gives us our first good look at Blade Runner 2099
Ridley Scott announced nearly five years ago that he was planning a spinoff TV series based on his 1982 sci-fi classic Blade Runner and its 2017 sequel Blade Runner 2049. Finally, or almost. Prime Video released the first trailer for its new ten-episode Blade Runner series at San Diego Comic-Con. A teaser was also released for Rings of Power, the third season of Prime Video and HBO’s Lanterns.
Silka Luisa, showrunner of Shining Girls (Evening Girls), joined Yeoh on stage for the reveal. An exclusive clip was also shown to the crowd. Luisa said to Entertainment Weekly that this series is true to “noir principle… there’s also a mystery that’s at the core of the show, that both looks forwards and backwards when it comes mythology. There’s an uprising that has taken place and humans have lost. They are now second class citizens. The show is imagining the future and asking what it means to be human when humanity no longer matters.
According to the official synopsis
Los Angeles is reborn fifty years after Blade Runner 2049. But not by humans. Cora is a fugitive who, in a last ditch effort to quit running, assumes a Blade Runner identity. She is forced to work with Olwen a Replicant who’s days away from death, in order to track down the runaway. The truth she hides could bring their city crashing down.

Blade Runner 2020 will debut on Prime Video on November 25, 2026.
Rings of Power S3
Prime Video invested heavily in The Rings of Power after acquiring the source material rights from Tolkien’s estate. It even committed to several seasons up front. The third season is fast approaching and according to the SDCC teaser, the streaming service will finally show us Sauron forging the One Ring.
According to the official synopsis
Middle-earth has been at war for three seasons. Since the fall of Eragon, five years have passed. Sauron’s armies have conquered the entire world. The Dark Lord is only a short distance away from total victory. Khazad-dum where Dwarves have been sealed in their mountain halls and Lindon and Rivendell elven kingdoms that are protected by the Three Rings.”

Andrew Richardson, the younger brother of Elendil, Lloyd Owen, will play Anarion.
Rings of Power’s third season premieres November 11th, 2026 on Prime Video.
Lanterns
Lanterns is the DC Universe show coming to HBO Max. We have seen two teasers so far, and both made it very clear that we are in for something closer to True Detective, a sci fi version of superheroes. HBO released a new trailer for the show at SDCC, which is less earthbound. The trailer is a little less Earthbound, giving us a “space cop’s” feel, while revealing that the shapeshifting Manhunters are central to the story. It also takes us out into space and gives us our very first glimpse of Sinestro, an ex-Corps member who has gone rogue. HBO has released seven clips, but they haven’t been made public.
According to the official logline: “The series will follow new recruit John Stewart, (Aaron Pierre), and Lantern legend Hal Jordan, (Kyle Chandler), as they are drawn into a deep, earthly mystery while investigating a crime in America’s heartland. There will be 2 storylines, one in 2016, about a Nebraska murder, and another in 2026.
Hal Jordan, played by Chandler, is an ex-test pilot who’s about to retire from the Green Lantern Corps. John Stewart Jr. from Pierre is being trained to be his replacement. Nathan Fillion returns to his Superman role, this time as the annoying Guy Gardner. We get a glimpse of him briefly in the teaser. Kelly MacDonald plays Kerry, the small town family-oriented Sheriff. Jason Ritter is Billy Macon’s wife. Garret Daillahunt is William Macon’s cowboy dad-in-law. Poorna Jaganthan portrays a woman called Zoe. Paul Ben-Victor appears as Antaan, an alien.
Jasmine Cephas Jones will play the younger version, while Nicole Ari Parker is Bernadette Stewart. Sherman Augustus portrays John Stewart Sr. Cary Christopher will portray a child with a special talent named Noah, Laura Linney, a senior Guardian, and Paula Patton in an unannounced role. Chris Coy will also play Waylon Sanders, a truck driver who seems nervous. The show’s inter-dimensional jail and Checkmate, which were introduced in Peacemaker S2’s finale, will also be featured.
Lanterns will premiere on HBO Max on 18 August 2026.
New Spaceballs
Amazon MGM Studios put together a panel at SDCC this year in parody of old Marvel panels. There have not been any public teasers, trailers or posters yet, but some teaser clips were shown yesterday at SDCC and at CinemaCon last April.
Josh Gad co-wrote and sold the sequel script to Brooks via a cold phone call. Gad said that he had shown the first movie to his young daughter when the COVID-19 epidemic was raging and she liked it so much, she asked to see the second. The official synopsis is below:
Dark Helmet is back! The galaxy faces a new threat forty years after Spaceballs 1, fifty years after Star Wars: A New Hope and one year following The Devil Wears Prada 2. The threat is so evil and unstoppable that, despite its lack of originality, it vows to restore the past… in every detail.
Prince Starburst and Destiny, a mysterious Palace adviser, are the only ones who can save the galaxy. With Lone Starr hiding in the Schwartz, Queen Vespa as the ruler, and Schwartz stretching thinner than an animated TV series, Vespa’s son Prince Starburst is the last hope. They must work together to find Lone Starr and Yogurt as well as any other legacy characters that fans have requested before discovering the hard way, though, that the reboot may be a threat they can overcome.
Brooks, 100 years old, reprises his role of Yogurt through motion capture. He filmed the lines in studio. Rick Moranis, Daphne Zuniga, Colonel Sandurz, Bill Pullman, Lord Dark Helmet and Rick Moranis are also returning. Lewis Pullman is the son of Pullman and Vespa. Keke Palmer plays Destiny, a palace adviser. Gad is a mawg – the same animal as John Candy’s Barf. Anthony Carrigan, Rowan Witt and others have been cast for roles that are yet to be revealed.
The New Spaceball is scheduled to hit theaters in 2027 on April 23. The Schwartz will be with you.

Every Marvel Studios Hall-H Comic-Con 2026 Announcement & Reveal (Updated Live)
Marvel Studios has been at San Diego Comic-Con for two years now, and they always know how to win with their Saturday night panels. Marvel has a reputation for revealing exclusive footage to attendees at the San Diego Comic-Con, as well as announcing new movie titles and characters for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Marvel is aware that even though fans are not present every year at SDCC they still want to know what’s next.
Video by ComicBook.com
Marvel Studios’ Hall H Panel is unique this year. Not only is it the first panel since 2024 but it also comes just before their two next feature films: Spider-Man: Brand New Day, and Avengers: Doomsday. The studio has yet to confirm anything, however these movies may be the main focus. ComicBook will be at San Diego Comic-Con and is in the hall RIGHT NOW. We’ll have live updates here from the panel. Keep your refresh button close by and you’ll be able to find out everything Marvel has confirmed tonight. Kevin Feige will always have one final thing to say before the event is over.
Pre-Panel Hello From Herbie
Two surprises were in store for the attendees before the panel even began. The first surprise was the distribution of Doctor Doom masks, cloaks, and other accessories to all attendees. This feat is no easy task, considering that there were 6,500 people in attendance. Second, HERBIE the Fantastic Four walked out onto the stage to welcome everyone.
Eddie Ibrahim, SDCC’s icon, will introduce the panel and urge everyone to not record it.
A MCU montage is played, which includes not only the X-Men films made by Fox but also Tobey’s Spider-Man: No Way Home scenes. Kevin Feige, Marvel’s President, takes to the stage wearing his trademark baseball cap. This one features Doctor Doom on it. Feige says that Marvel TV series will not be announced today. (TV may get their day next month, at Disney D23 Expo.) Feige released the Avengers: Endgame Encore trailer, which confirms the date of September for the rerelease. It also contains footage from fans who watched the film when it was first released in 2019.
Feige, who said that the event was primarily about films, did slip in an announcement regarding television. He confirmed that VisionQuest will premiere on Disney+ on October 14, and that it is the third installment in the “WandaVision trilogy” (the other being Agatha All Along).
Marvel’s Ghost Rider confirmed
Kevin Feige confirmed that Ryan Gosling will OFFICIALLY join the MCU. Shawn Levy, the director of Deadpool & Wolverine, will also be directing this movie in 2028. Marvel currently has three releases scheduled in 2028: May 5, July 28, and December 15. It seems unlikely that Ghost Rider would ride during Christmas, but who knows?
Feige stated that Ghost Rider could only be directed by one person. Ryan has a movie that will be released first. Star Wars: Starfighter is the name. It’s amazing. I won’t brag about it, but as a Star Wars fan, I was lucky enough to watch Star Wars: Starfighter. It’s a new take on Star Wars that gives me the Star Wars feel and I cannot wait to share it with you. What was it that brought this freshness to Star Wars Starfighter?? It was Shawn Levy, the director who was responsible for bringing Deadpool, Wolverine and other characters to Star Wars: Starfighter a few year ago.
Spider-Man: Brand New Day Scene Revealed
Jon Bernthal, who was quick to interrupt the Marvel panel after Ryan Gosling’s announcement as Ghost Rider in the MCU, reminded Kevin Feige of Spider-Man: Brand New Day opening next week. A clip of the movie was screened, which featured Punisher fighting the Hulk with Spider-Man.
Avengers Doomsday to be shown at SDCC
On stage the cast for Avengers: Doomsday is assembling, divided by X-Men, Avengers and Robert Downey Jr. The Russo Brothers are also in attendance.
Downey stated that “decisions must be made.” You’ll either have to choose the right side, or consider joining the family of dread.
Hayley Atwell will be returning as Peggy Carter for Avengers: Doomsday, the first major announcement. Fans who watched Avengers: Endgame will not be surprised by this news.
Deadpool Crushed the Panel
Deadpool, dressed in grey Deadpool costume, has crashed the Avengers Doomsday panel, and is asking audience members questions about the film, such as “Why did Thor cry?” Deadpool also seems to be hinting that he won’t appear in the film, by asking when the production begins.

Ted Danson admits personal struggles overshadowed the end of ‘Cheers’
You can now hear Fox News stories!
Ted Danson gets real with his life as he nears the end of “Cheers.”
In a recent podcast episode, the actor told listeners what it was like for him when “Cheers,” which ended in 1993, came to an abrupt end.
People ask, “What did it feel like?” “What did you do after she left? He said: “I said that I had so messed up my own life, I hadn’t realized ‘Cheers was over’.”
Danson also admitted that he had “barely known himself” before he joined the show and that he took “a postgrad grow up class quickly” during his last season.

He drove to Long Beach, California to visit his mentor. His mentor was “amazing” and gave him “a different type of spirituality therapy.”
He said, “I didn’t want to be a liar anymore.” I wanted to mature emotionally. “I wanted to be changed.”
In an episode of his podcast from August 2025, the “Curb Your Enthusiasm’ star spoke of the ending of the show and reflected on his own personal situation at that time.
Danson was asked by Charlie Day if he feared being stereotyped when the show ended. He replied that “the transition” was “easy because I had messed up my personal life so bad.” And he hadn’t realized the end of the show for several months, “because I wasn’t thinking about anything else but myself and personal things.”

Danson played Sam Malone in the popular sitcom from 1982 until 1993. He was one of only a few actors to have appeared in 273 episodes.
After 11 seasons of “Cheers”, the series ended when Danson decided to move on to other opportunities. The executives felt that it was not possible to continue without him.
He said, “I thought I’d jump off the edge, since I was working so hard to change for the better.” He said, “And there was] a bit of… If I didn’t leave, I might not know if i could do anything else. I wanted to see if i can do other stuff.”
Danson starred after “Cheers” in “Becker”, “Curb Your Enthusiasm”, and “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” until he found a new audience with “The Good Place”.
He currently stars in the Netflix hit show “Man on the Inside” as a retired university professor working undercover in a nursing facility.

“The Odyssey” screenings at Regal King of Prussia impacted after 70mm IMAX projector goes down
Currently, one of only 41 cinemas around the globe screening Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey” 70mm IMAX is experiencing technical problems.
Regal King of Prussia in Philadelphia informed customers on Friday that its 70mm IMAX projection system was having problems and only digital IMAX screenings were available.
The theater posted on Facebook that it “understands your frustration and apologizes for any impact this has had on your experience.”
The IMAX team has been working non-stop since Thursday and continues to do so to solve the projection problems. “We are trying to return normal 70mm operations as quickly as we can, but at this time there is no timeline.”
The King of Prussia Theater is one of only 25 theaters in America to show “The Odyssey” 70mm IMAX. New York City, Rochester, New York, and Providence, Rhode Island are the next nearest theaters.
Nolan told CBS Mornings co-host Gayle king last week that the new format is sharper and more like the image our eyes perceive.
Fans from Virginia drove as far away as King of Prussia to watch the 70mm IMAX film.
David Dekok: “I drove 80 miles to Harrisburg from Harrisburg in order to reach the theatre.”
Kate Elfatah said that when she arrived at the theatre, the buzz quickly spread throughout the lobby.
Elfatah replied, “I could not believe what I heard.” You have people who are out of order.
Elfatah said that customers received refunds as well as the opportunity to view the film in digital format for free. Not everyone was satisfied with that, she said.
Elfatah: “I met people from South Carolina who said that they had driven 8-10 hours.”
Kate Elfatah said that when she arrived at the theatre, the buzz quickly spread throughout the lobby.
Our crews informed several people CBS News Philadelphia interviewed that the projector had broken. This lack of notice was frustrating for many.
They could have sent out an email to all their clients. Dekok stated that they had our entire email.
Elfatah stated that no one from the theatre came to talk with anyone.
Regal has said that IMAX technicians are working round the clock to fix the projector. However, there is still no timetable for the return of 70mm screenings.

Marvel SDCC 2026 Live Coverage – All the news from the Marvel panel as it happens
Kevin Feige has announced that they’ll only be showcasing movies at the panel today. So no VisionQuest or Daredevil: Born Again then…
The Marvel SDCC 2026 panel has started
Almost 30 minutes later, the Marvel 2026 panel has begun. Kevin Feige is now on stage to kick off the announcements. He’s wearing a Doomsday hat…
Unfortunately that was a false alarm… We’re still waiting for action to begin here in Hall H. At least we’re well dressed for the occasion?
It looks like the action might be about to start as HERBIE has just rolled onto stage…
There’s a lot of excitement in Hall H now as we wait for the panel to begin. Everyone in the room is currently being given a Doctor Doom mask ahead of the action.
Some outlets are reporting that the delay may be as long as 15/20 minutes. Hold on tight, folks…
The Marvel Studios panel is almost certainly starting late as the panel before is still overrunning. There’s no word yet on when it will begin but we’re expecting a quick change around when the previous panel stops.
We’re seated in Hall H now ahead of the panel’s start in 15 minutes, but the panel before is currently still happening. Just a reminder too, the Marvel SDCC 2026 panel will not be live-streamed. Follow along with us here for everything that happens as well as on our Twitter.
30 minutes to go!
We’re now just 30 minutes away from the start of the Marvel panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2026! GamesRadar+ is seated in Hall H and ready to bring you the news as it happens.
Just a reminder on timings. The panel kicks off at 5.30pm PDT, local time. This means it starts at 8.30pm EDT and 1.30am BST. We’re expecting it to last about an hour as Marvel tends to keep a pretty tight ship with their SDCC appearances.
Probably the most exciting potential announcements will be around the upcoming X-Men movie. Kevin Feige has made no secret that the next stage of the MCU will be all about mutants and director Jake Shrier is behind an upcoming reboot film. Currently, we don’t know much at all about it, apart from that it won’t be linked to any of the X-Men movies we’ve seen before. Screenwriter Lee Sung Jin told Deadline earlier this year that Feige “just wants to take a big swing and start anew, not be beholden to any of the movies that have come before.”
Given that it’s going to be so key to the future of the MCU, we might get some casting announcements. Rumors have been swirling around everyone from Adam Driver to Bill Skarsgård, and then there’s the persistent speculation that Sadie Sink will debut as Jean Grey in Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Watch this space…
Another potential point of focus could be Daredevil: Born Again season 3. While it might not seem like the most exciting announcement for the Hall H slot, timing might be in its favor. The third season of the Disney Plus show has just finished filming and there have been a lot of leaks. Marvel might use the opportunity to announce some of the casting we already know about officially and there may even be some footage. We’ll bring you updates as they happen with that.
Traditionally these Marvel panels have also focused on the upcoming slate. This means that VisionQuest, which is the conclusion to the WandaVision trilogy could also be a focus during the presentation. We’ve still not seen a trailer for the upcoming Disney Plus show, despite it showing behind closed doors at CinemaCon earlier this year. It’s out on October 14 too so we’re more than overdue a first look…
What happened the last time Marvel were at San Diego Comic-Con?
It’s been a few years since Marvel Studios has been at SDCC, but the last time they made quite an impact. After Deadpool & Wolverine got its own showcase on Friday night, Saturday night belonged to Marvel Studios’ upcoming slate. The biggest surprise of the evening was the announcement that Robert Downey Jr. was returning to the MCU, not as Iron Man but as a new character: Doctor Doom.
He appeared on stage in a Doom mask to mark the occasion and subsequently surprised just about everyone. We were in Hall H when it happened and the atmosphere was electric. Here’s a little recap of how that all went down…
Avengers: Secret Wars is also about a year and a half out too – and we still know relatively little about it. We’re not expecting to hear too much about the plot details given they’re likely very dependent on what goes down in Doomsday, but we could hear some casting news. At the moment, Doomsday has a few big omissions, including Spider-Man, Doctor Strange, and the Hulk. Could we get confirmation about their return?
One thing we are expecting to have a big presence at SDCC this year is Avengers: Doomsday. If you’d asked us a week ago, we would have put good money that it would be in this panel when we’d finally see the full trailer. However, Marvel actually dropped that on Monday (read our Avengers: Doomsday trailer breakdown here)…
This means we’re not expecting to see any more footage released widely, but that doesn’t mean no news. The Russo Brothers will likely be there with Robert Downey Jr. and we might even get a scene shown exclusively in Hall H, which we’ll share a description of with you.
Doomsday has already been appearing all around SDCC too, with new costumes being showcased and a special installation in the middle of town. Check out a closer look at Doctor Doom’s costume below.
In terms of what we’re expecting to be covered tonight in the Marvel panel, we don’t yet have anything confirmed. Marvel has released no guests, no agenda, and Kevin Feige has been keeping tight-lipped. Speaking to Collider just last week, the Marvel Studios head said: “Listen, you probably know as good a tease as I do in terms of the fact that when we go to Hall H, it’s for a reason, and it’s to have some surprises and show a few things. It’s our home away from home, Hall H, so I’m very excited to be heading back.”
How to watch the Marvel SDCC 2026 panel
As we get closer to the panel’s start, you’ll likely be wondering how you can watch the Marvel SDCC 2026 panel. The short answer is, you can’t. San Diego Comic-Con doesn’t livestream their panels so you have to be in the room to be able to watch it as it happens.
Luckily for you, GamesRadar+ is in Hall H and we’ll be keeping you updated every step of the way. Follow along here, as well as on our social media (Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok) so you don’t miss a moment.
Just a reminder too about timings: the panel begins at 5.30pm PDT. If you’re on the east coast then that’s 9.30pm and if you’re in the UK then that’s 1.30am. We expect it will last about an hour or so, depending on what’s announced.
