Gymkhana Club: Delhis most exclusive club is under threat of shutdown – can it survive?
It is expensive to be a member of the Gymkhana, but for many years access was controlled by gatekeeping more than price. The members must first propose and second the plicants. A managing committee then proves their plication. The process has historically favored senior civil servants, military officers and other members of the defence forces. Critics claim this has contributed to maintaining inequality even though it has made Delhi’s Gymkhana membership one of the most sought after.

Twisha Sharma: Rival claims of murder and suicide set off media frenzy after Indian bride dies
Twisha’s family refused to cremate Twisha’s body, and requested a post-mortem. According to the BBC, the first autopsy reported that Twisha had died by hanging. It also stated injuries suffered before her death. The court denied their request, but ordered that the authorities protect the body to prevent it from decomposing.

Verified videos show aftermath of explosion in Delhi
Police in Delhi, India have confirmed that eight people were killed by an explosion that occurred near the Red Fort. Satish Golcha, the Delhi Police Commissioner, told reporters that an explosion occurred at 18:52 local (13:52 GMT) when a vehicle slowed down and stopped at a traffic light. The police have yet to determine the cause of the explosion, but they are still investigating. The 17th Century Red Fort is only a few meters away from a bustling trading centre.
