UFC 333 predictions

One way or another, history will be made at UFC 333. Maybe more than once.
First, you have Alexander Volkanovski, facing the classic combat sports conundrum of getting older while the competitions only gets younger and hungrier. “The Great” has done it all in his career and has nothing left to prove—other than maybe that he belongs to be placed even higher on the all-time great list than he already is.
He couldn’t ask for a more compelling challenge than Movsar Evloev. The undefeated Evloev has battled inactivity and a lack of fan-friendly highlights to earn his shot, going 10-0 in the UFC and bumping every other contender out of his way. Inside the distance or on the cards, winning’s winning, as a wise man once said.
Then there’s Petr Yan, once hanging on to the edge of the title picture by a thread, now back where he belongs in the greatest bantamweight of all time discussion. All he had to do was defeat three ranked opponents and then deliver the performance of his life this past December to avenge a past loss and become champion a second time.
The man he beat, Merab Dvalishvili, can restore order and cement himself as the 135-pound GOAT if he wins his series with Yan. Dvalishvili might have flown too close to the sun in 2025, attempting to become the first UFC fighter to successfully defend a title four times in a calendar year; now, with 10 months to rest, recover, and evolve, can he get back to his overwhelming ways and go on another dominant run?
Elsewhere on a stacked main card, Lone’er Kavanagh and Ramazan Temirov jockey for position in an increasingly crowded flyweight division, Alexander Volkov looks to keep his heavyweight title hopes alive when he takes on Rizvan Kuniev, and Aaron Pico faces short-notice replacement Losene Keita in a sizzling featherweight opener.
What: UFC 333
Where: Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi
When: Saturday, Oct. 24. The five-fight early preliminary card begins at 10 a.m. ET, followed by a four-fight preliminary card at 12 p.m. ET. The five-fight main card begins at 2 p.m. ET with the entire event streaming live on Paramount+.
(Numbers in parentheses indicate standing in the MMA Fighting Global Rankings and Pound-for-Pound Rankings)
Alexander Volkanovski (1, P4P-5) vs. Movsar Evloev (2, P4P-19)
For the first time in a while, I can say with confidence that Alexander Volkanovski’s time is up.
All credit to Volkanovski for silencing the doubters time and time again, and for never wavering from wanting to give Movsar Evloev an opportunity. It’s hardly an unwinnable fight for the venerated Volkanovski, as his all-around game remains as sharp as ever, plus he’s survived the wrestling of Islam Makhachev and lived to tell about it. Keep it on the feet, box Evloev up, and live to fight another day as champion.
Making the case for Evloev, I want to shut down the notion that his lack of finishes somehow makes him less of a championship threat. Look at his most recent wins: Lerone Murphy, Aljamain Sterling, Arnold Allen, Diego Lopes, Dan Ige, heck, throw Hakeem Dawodu in there. Which of those fighters is easy to finish? Those are some of the toughest outs at 145 pounds, so yes, while we’d love to have seen Evloev put a stamp on his No. 1 contender status by emphatically putting one of those names away, it’s not essential.
As far as Evloev’s skills go, obviously his clearest path to victory involves grounding Volkanovski, smothering him against the fence, just wearing the older fighter down for 25 minutes. That said, and I could be fooling myself, I think Evloev actually finds his first finish here. Volkanovski gets hit. Lopes caught him. Makhachev and Ilia Topuria knocked him out. When Evloev throws, he has some pop to his punches, and all it takes is one good one to rattle Volkanovski’s chin these days.
So yes, I’m counting out Volkanovski. Again. And I’m ready to look dumb. Again. Give me a fresh face at the top, though, and Volkanovski moving one step closer to a well-deserved retirement.
Evloev by knockout.
Pick: Evloev
Petr Yan (1, P4P-2) vs. Merab Dvalishvili (2, P4P-10)
I hate to take away from Petr Yan’s amazing performance in their rematch, but did we really see the best version of Merab Dvalishvili that night?
Look, I’m a man of science—and Xyience, obviously—and I can say with 90 percent confidence that cutting weight and preparing for four title fights in 12 months can’t possibly be good for you, even if you have Dvalishvili’s freakish physical and mental conditioning. Then you remember the fourth was against Yan, a guy who might just be the best ever at 135 pounds who already had five rounds of data to work with. Trouble.
Yan denied Dvalishvili at every turn in their second fight, never letting Dvalishvili reach that extra gear that has broken so many challengers. Unsurprisingly, Yan got the better of the majority of the striking exchanges, showing once again that he is pound-for-pound one of the best strikers in all of MMA. I don’t see a scenario where Dvalishvili wins on the feet, even as much as his standup skills have improved.
Where Dvalishvili excels is in relentlessly mixing up his techniques and, yes, frustrating his opponents with his wrestling whether it’s against the fence or on the ground. His main goal is to give his opponents zero room to breathe, much less think. That’s how he beat Yan the first time and it’s a strategy that is repeatable, albeit with a few tweaks.
At their very best, I lean slightly towards Dvalishvili, but not for a second do I think either fighter will have a comfortable lead on the cards this time around. We could even take a trip to Splitty City. I hope not, but I do suspect we’ll be treated to a close decision—one that possibly sets up a fourth encounter down the road.
Pick: Dvalishvili
Lone’er Kavanagh (8) vs. Ramazan Temirov (12)
Speed vs. power? That’s how Lone’er Kavanagh sees it and who am I to disagree?
The 27-year-old Kavanagh has been swimming with the sharks since his third UFC fight, when he received a rude awakening from Mr. Spoiler himself, Charles Johnson. He followed that up with a career-best performance against two-time flyweight champion Brandon Moreno and then had to tap out in the third round of a gritty battle with another elite veteran, Brandon Royval. Ramazan Temirov is closer to Kavanagh in terms of octagon experience, but arguably just as dangerous as those other standouts.
Outside of Manel Kape, Temirov might be the scariest hitter at 125 pounds. He’s blessed with one-shot knockout power and he’ll be looking land a hammer before Kavanagh can establish any sort of rhythm. I believe Kavanagh has learned a ton from his past three fights though, even if it’s only that there are levels to this. Now it’s his turn to impart a version of that lesson on Temirov.
Watch for Kavanagh to stick and move for three rounds, mix the martial arts, and outlast Temirov en route to another impressive decision win.
Pick: Kavanagh
Alexander Volkov (4) vs. Rizvan Kuniev (9)
I’ll be honest, I didn’t have Alexander Volkov becoming The People’s Champ on my bingo card. But here we are, as much of the community has rallied around Volkov being robbed of a heavyweight title shot after years of battling top 10 opponents.
Rizvan Kuniev is the scariest kind of up-and-coming heavyweight in that he actually does stuff. That might sound like the faintest of praise, but in this division, being busy and pushing the pace immediately separates you from the pack. Ciryl Gane, Josh Hokit, and Gable Steveson are the names that spring to the mind of most fans when talking about athletic heavys, but I feel like Kuniev is flying under the radar in these discussions. He’s always coming forward and looking to engage and he has the cardio to drown Volkov with volume for 15 minutes.
Maybe I just need to see more of Big Riz, but I still think Volkov has the edge in striking and grappling. He’s one of the few giants we’ve seen in MMA that actually knows how to utilize his reach advantage (he’s not amazing at it, but better than Stefan Struve, to put it nicely), and that length should keep Kuniev from just walking him down with no repercussions. Taking Kuniev down is unlikely, but should the fight go to the ground, the more experienced Volkov can give Kuniev some problems.
Full disclosure, this is as much of a hope pick as anything else, because it would be a damn shame if Volkov never received his UFC title shot. I fully expect Kuniev to be a contender for years to come, so let tonight be Volkov’s night as he comes out on the right end of a hard-fought decision.
Pick: Volkov
Aaron Pico (12) vs. Losene Keita
I’ll say it: I don’t believe in the more measured, more mature Aaron Pico. Even though he put together a fine three-round performance against Patricio Pitbull, the berserker is still in there. And Losene Keita is the kind of opponent who can bring it out.
If I’m wrong about this, then I’ll be thrilled, because we need more fighters like Pico and if he’s learned to consistently channel his aggression and prodigious talents into a complete approach to the game, even better. What worries me here is that he’s arguably landed himself in an even more dangerous situation with Keita stepping in to replace an injured Arnold Allen, who was the perfect opponent to move Pico up the rankings and give him a few more high-level rounds. Keita is more willing to risk it all to make a statement.
Call this a coin flip, but I’ve seen Pico go full desperado too many times to trust him, especially against a guy who’s only loss inside the distance was due to a freak leg injury. Keita strikes first, gets the knockout, and takes home another $100,000 bonus.
Pick: Keita

Brewers ride ridiculous, record-setting eight-run inning to dominant 3-0 World Series lead over Rays

The Milwaukee Brewers moved one step closer to their first ever World Series title on Monday night, taking a 3-0 series lead with a dominant 10-1 win.
That’s the short version of the story. The long version? The Tampa Bay Rays will be kicking themselves over a disastrous top of the fifth inning, and historians will one day use a clip of that inning, and the entire 2026 Brewers’ postseason run for that matter, as proof of how powerful luck is in Major League Baseball.
This page may contain affiliate links to legal sports betting partners. If you sign up or place a wager, FOX News may be compensated. This content was created by a team that works independently from the FOX newsroom.
Game three meant the series shifted to Tampa Bay, and Tropicana Field was packed to the rafters with Rays fans and a sizable contingent of Brewers supporters. But as has typically been the case this postseason, only those in Milwaukee blue and gold had much to cheer about.
MILWAUKEE BREWERS’ DOMINANT BULLPEN AND CLUTCH OFFENSE PUT THE TAMPA BAY RAYS ON THE BRINK
At least defensively, the Rays put up a fight. In the top of the second, outfielder Chandler Simpson made a tremendous running catch in the left field corner, crashing into the fence to rob Sal Frelick of a hit. Then catcher Nick Fortes caught Garrett Mitchell trying to steal second base to end the inning. It was all downhill from there.
In the third inning, the Milwaukee superteam machine kicked into high gear. Jackson Chourio started things off with a ground ball single. Jake Bauers followed with a walk. That’s when the Brewers’ incredible penchant for outperforming on batting average on balls in play reared its gigantic head yet again.
Christian Yelich popped up a 71 mph blooper that fell in for an RBI single. William Contreras followed with another 79 mph blooper that fell in to drive in the second run of the game.
Still, a 2-0 game in the third inning wouldn’t normally mean that much, but the Brewers had Robert Gasser on the mound. Who’s Robert Gasser you might be wondering? Well, essentially the epitome of a league average pitcher, someone who had a 4.27 “expected” ERA in the regular season, then turned into a Cy Young candidate in the playoffs. Because baseball.
Gasser entered his game three start with just one run allowed in the playoffs, but the Rays couldn’t muster even that on Monday night. Rarely getting swings and misses, Gasser relied on his best friend in October: the opposing team having exceptionally poor luck on batted balls put in play. Prior to Monday, opposing hitters had just a .185 BABIP against him. Then he went six shutout innings with just three strikeouts and only one hit allowed. How? Because the Rays had an .071 BABIP. Gasser will likely end his postseason with just seven hits on 55 balls put in play, an incredible .127 batting average allowed, when league average is around .300.
Gasser’s start was the first time a lefty had gone six shutout innings while facing the minimum number of hitters in the World Series since Sandy Koufax.
Next time you want your favorite team to acquire the big name starting pitcher in free agency or at the trade deadline, just remember that one of the most effective starters on the team that won the World Series was Robert Gasser. That he did something that hadn’t been done in the World Series by a lefty since one of the greatest pitchers in the history of the sport. In large part because of BABIP. There’s no luck in baseball, because everything must have an explanation, no matter how absurd.
Gasser didn’t need much support, obviously, but the Brewers unstoppable offense provided it anyway. In the fifth inning, Milwaukee put together one of the most absurd innings you’ll ever see, and a near-perfect reminder of the immense amount of variance and randomness inherent in baseball.

It started innocently enough, with Chourio once again singling with one out. Jake Bauers flew out for the second out, then Christian Yelich walked to put runners at first and second. Then, the play that will haunt Rays fans forever.
William Contreras grounded one in the hole between second and third, and third baseman Junior Caminero went to second base for the force out, unable to see that he had plenty of time to get Contreras at first. But Yelich beat the throw out, loading the bases for Brice Turang. Then, the floodgates opened.
Turang hit a grounder to short that Taylor Walls couldn’t make the play on, scoring two. Then Garrett Mitchell slapped another single through the infield, directly where the shortstop typically plays. 5-0 Milwaukee. Cooper Pratt followed with a grounder that somehow clipped the foul line for a double, making it 7-0. Sal Frelick hit a soft line drive that fell in to left field to make it 8-0. David Hamilton, having an incredible postseason after a career of being a very bad hitter, drove in the ninth run of the game with a single. Finally, Jackson Chourio added his fourth hit of the game and second of the inning to make it 10-0. Why not?

That fifth inning was the first eight-run inning in World Series history. The Brewers went 9-18 with runners in scoring position, had a .471 BABIP and 16 hits against a typically strong Rays pitching staff. Tampa’s BABIP? .130. That’s only half of it. Per the league’s Statcast page, Milwaukee’s expected batting average in the game was .254. Their actual batting average was .390. Tampa’s expected batting average was .236, and their actual was .107. And that’s been Milwaukee’s luck all postseason.
The Rays added a meaningless garbage time run in the bottom of the ninth, but Milwaukee takes a commanding 3-0 series lead, and is well on their way to the organization’s first ever championship. Potentially as soon as Tuesday night’s game four.
Should the Brewers close it out with a fully rested bullpen, they’d become the first team in the history of the sport to sweep both the NLCS and World Series. They’re 10-1 in the playoffs thus far, with a chance to go 11-1 and win ten of nine straight to win a title. Baseball-ruining superteam indeed.

Not all of these results are down to luck, of course, and it’s hardly a criticism of the Brewers’ team or players to say they’ve had fortune on their side in the playoffs. Every team that wins the playoff tournament in Major League Baseball has luck go their way. The Dodgers in 2024 and 2025 had plenty of breaks, as did the Rangers in 2023 and Astros in 2022. And the Braves in 2021 and so on.

World Series 2026: Brewers on cusp of first title after dismantling Rays in historic rally to take 3-0 lead

It will take an unprecedented comeback to stop the Milwaukee Brewers from winning their first World Series title. After Monday, It’s hard to be confident the Tampa Bay Rays are up for the job.
The Brewers defeated the Rays in a 10-1 demolition in Game 3 of the 2026 World Series to take a 3-0 lead. No team has ever come back from a 3-0 deficit in the Fall Classic, and it’s only happened once at all in a seven-game series (the Boston Red Sox in the 2004 ALCS).
Game 4 is scheduled for Tuesday at 8 p.m. ET at Tropicana Field, with Milwaukee one win from exiting MLB’s group of title-less teams.
Thanks to a strong performance from starting pitcher Robert Gasser and the bullpen, the Brewers already had enough runs to win the game by the third inning. It was in the fifth, however, that the game — and quite likely the series — was decided.
The Brewers will never forget that fifth inning
The inning was theoretically over. With two outs and runners on first and second, William Contreras grounded into a force-out at second base. However, the Brewers challenged the out call at second, and a quick replay review showed Christian Yelich was clearly safe.
As obvious as overturning the call was, it wound up being one of the most consequential challenges since MLB introduced the system.
That loaded the bases and knocked out Tampa Bay starting pitcher — and old friend of the Brewers — Freddy Peralta after 4 2/3 innings. Cam Booser, the top left-hander in the Rays bullpen, entered to face Brice Turang and keep the game within reach.
He did not keep the game within reach.
Instead, the most patient offense in baseball ambushed him on the first pitch in three straight at-bats and got an RBI hit with every single swing. Then they added three more consecutive hits, one against Booser and another two more off Cole Sulser. All with two outs.
In the span of 12 pitches from Booser, the night saw a two-run game turn into an eight-run game. And then it got even worse after he left.
The full sequence in what will go down as the most famous inning in Brewers history:
David Hamilton lineout
Jackson Chourio single
Jake Bauers flyout
Christian Yelich walk
William Contreras single*
Brice Turang RBI single
Garrett Mitchell RBI single
Cooper Pratt RBI double
Sal Frelick RBI double
David Hamilton RBI single
Jackson Chourio RBI double
Jake Bauers flyout
* call overturned on replay
Or, in video form:
The Brewers are playing in the World Series despite ranking 29th in MLB in home runs during the regular season, and they showed why that didn’t matter in Game 3. They might not hit the long ball as much as MLB’s other top teams, but they refuse to go away.
They are the first team to string together seven straight hits in a postseason game. Jake Bauers posted the second out of the inning, then finally flew out for the third. By the end of the inning, every player in the Milwaukee lineup save for Bauers had a run and RBI in the game.
In total, the Brewers out-hit the Rays 16-3 across the game. That first Tampa Bay hit was a leadoff single by Yandy Díaz in the first inning; the second and third came in the ninth. Everything between that: absolute dominance.
Everything is coming up Milwaukee
It’s almost a footnote that Gasser posted a start of six shutout innings with one hit allowed. In another game, we’re talking at length about him becoming the first pitcher to face the minimum in six or more innings since Don Larsen in his 1956 perfect game.
The Brewers didn’t even need to dig into the bullpen that has become their calling card. Instead, top arms Trevor Megill, Aaron Ashby and Abner Uribe all got a night off and will be rested when Milwaukee goes for the clinch in Game 4.
An added treat was the appearance of Brandon Woodruff to pitch the ninth, making his return after what was thought to be a season-ending shoulder injury in July. He allowed the Rays’ only run on an RBI double by Díaz.
Milwaukee is now 10-1 this postseason, and what stands out is that no starting pitcher on either side has pitched into the seventh inning. Only two pitchers — Gasser on Monday and Blake Snell of the Los Angeles Dodgers in Game 3 of the NLCS — have recorded an out in the sixth inning.
That reflects two things. One is the Brewers bullpen has been that good, with a 1.34 ERA in 53 2/3 innings across the postseason. The other is this Brewers lineup, which walks more than any other team in baseball, aggressively runs the bases and strings together clutch hits, has absolutely tortured some of the best pitchers in baseball.
Robbie Ray, Michael King, Tarik Skubal, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Drew Rasmussen, Peralta. None lasted more than five innings. None pitched in a win.
This Brewers team has been a machine this postseason, and Monday was their masterpiece. They have now won 113 games between the regular season and postseason, and need just one more to reduce the number of title-less MLB teams to four.
Tampa Bay will, in all likelihood, remain one of those teams, along with the San Diego Padres, Colorado Rockies and Seattle Mariners, despite this being its third trip to the World Series.

Cowboys make it a two score game
Well, we’ll see if the Eagles can prove me wrong. They’ll have to score twice and force a Cowboys punt in the game’s final nine minutes. They’re off to a good start; McKee completes two quick passes and the Eagles are already past midfield.
Well, scratch that. DeMarvion Overshown just made an incredible interception, the game’s first turnover. Cowboys are now in complete command with 7:47 left, up 31-21 and with possession.

Eagles forced to punt
A holding call and a sack ended the drive before it could get started. The Eagles’ defense is now going to have to hold the Cowboys, something they’ve only done twice so far. Cowboys currently holding a 28-21 lead.
There’s a lot of time left (14:17), but given how this game has gone, it feels like the Cowboys can put this one away if they are able to make it a two-score game. If that happens, I don’t see the Eagles scoring twice and forcing a quick Cowboys punt in about a half quarter of work.

Lamb scores on a beautiful over the shoulder catch that gives the Cowboys a 28-21 late in the third quarter. Dallas gets the 2-point conversion on a designed run by Prescott. Cowboys have now scored on five of their first six possessions.

Eagles re-gain the lead!
Really impressive drive for the Eagles to start the half that ends with a TD pass from McKee to Makai Lemon! TD capped off an epic 17-play, 84-yard drive that took a whopping 9:16 off the clock.
McKee was 7 of 9 for 60 yards. That’s Lemon’s first career TD.

Both teams record their first punts
After five straight scoring drives, both teams traded punts late in the first half. The Eagles, down 17-14, will get a chance to end the first half with a score. They’ll take over at their own 39 with 1:39 left until halftime. They have just one timeout.

Pickens makes one of his patented, incredible catches that gives the Cowboys a 17-14 lead with 5:37 left until the half! Unreal game so far. We’ve already had five scoring games and neither team has punted.

The shootout continues. Dameon Pierce scores from close range to give the Eagles a 14-10 lead. The score caps off a 13-play, 76-yard drive that took over seven minutes off the clock.

He’s clearly not 100%, but Barkley was still a difference-maker on the Eagles’ first drive. His 29-yard run sets up his eight-yard touchdown as the Eagles take a 7-3 lead with 10:25 left in the first.
Barkley had 49 yards on just three touches on the four-play, 75-yard drive. The drive’s other play was a 21-yard catch by rookie Makai Lemon.

Williams has struggled in recent weeks, which has been one of the reasons why the Cowboys’ offense has regressed.

Saquon Barkley, Jordan Mailata one of few offensive contributors remaining from 2024 Super Bowl team
Saquon Barkley is averaging 5.1 yards per carry on 36 carries this season while all other Eagles running backs have combined to average 2.8 yards per carry on 71 carries this season. A big factor in that is the Philadelphia offensive line isn’t as capable of carrying the run game on its own anymore. Left tackle Jordan Mailata is the only starting offensive lineman remaining from the 2024 Super Bowl championship team. Philadelphia is 2-2 and averaging 109 rushing yards per game along with 4.2 yards per carry when Barkley has played this season. When he hasn’t been able to play, the Eagles are 0-2 while averaging 28.5 rushing yards per game and 1.8 yards per carry.

Philadelphia has averaged fewer than 4.0 yards per play in three consecutive games within a season for the first time since 1999. CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens off to strong starts despite Dallas’ struggles
Dallas Cowboys wide receivers CeeDee Lamb (96.2 receiving yards per game, the fourth most in the NFL) and George Pickens (71.3 receiving yards per game, 17th in the NFL) both rank inside the top 20 in the entire league in receiving yards per game. They are the first teammate duo to each average 70-plus receiving yards per game on a team with a losing record through six games since 2021. The last receiving duo to do so was the Seattle Seahawks duo of DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett five years ago.
Lamb is the first Cowboys player with 550-plus receiving yards (577) and 4-plus receiving touchdowns (4) since Hall of Famer Michael Irvin did so in 1995, Dallas’ last Super Bowl title season.

Dak Prescott looks to bounce back vs. Eagles, continue success in Philadelphia
After throwing four touchdowns and no interceptions against the Washington Commanders in Week 2, Prescott has four touchdowns to four interceptions since Week 4. However, he has a matchup where he was thrived individually of late, at the Philadelphia Eagles, tonight. He has 10 passing touchdowns and no interceptions in seven road starts against the Eagles, which is the most road starts without an interception by a quarterback against a single opponent since 1950. Why Dallas’ offense is struggling
The Cowboys are coming off a 23-13 loss at the Green Bay Packers in Week 6, a game in which they trailed 17-0 at halftime. Dallas failed to score on four drives that ended on the Packers’ side of the field. They ended with one punt, two interceptions and a turnover on downs. CBS Sports’ Garrett Podell did a deep dive on what changed schematically with the Cowboys’ offense from 2025 to 2026 after that game to diagnose the issues with coach Brian Schottenheimer’s attack.

Cowboys offense in a rut since Week 5
Since Dallas faced the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on “Thursday Night Football” in Week 5 and the Green Bay Packers on “Sunday Night Football” in Week 6, their offense has been in a rut. The Cowboys are averaging just 14.5 points per game the last two weeks. They have scored under 20 points in consecutive Dak Prescott starts for the first time since 2019, the last year Jason Garrett was the team’s head coach.

Cowboys vs. Eagles score, live updates: Saquon Barkley returns as Eagles, without Jalen Hurts, try to snap 4-game skid in NFC East showdown

The Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles will close out the Week 7 game slate on “Monday Night Football” in an NFC East showdown at Lincoln Financial Field, with kickoff set for 8:15 p.m. ET.
Both franchises enter the week at 2-4 after disappointing starts to the year, but the division remains wide open as the New York Giants lead with a 3-2-1 record.

The Cowboys are coming off a disappointing Sunday night loss to the Green Bay Packers at Lambeau Field. After struggling on defense for most of the season, Dallas couldn’t get their offense going, stuck at just seven points before scoring a touchdown in garbage time with just 0:44 on the clock.
The Eagles, meanwhile, had their season turned upside down last week after quarterback Jalen Hurts was placed on injured reserve as he undergoes treatment for deep vein thrombosis and blood clots in his lungs. Now, it’s up to quarterback Tanner McKee to save the season. He threw for 215 yards and one touchdown in his third career start last week.
Follow along with Yahoo Sports for live updates, highlights and more as the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles close out Week 7 on “Monday Night Football,” airing on ABC and ESPN.

iOS 27.2 Features: Everything New in iOS 27.2

Apple released iOS 27.2, uniting the iPhone Duo and other iPhone models on the same version of iOS. iOS 27.2 is the first major iOS 27 update, and it adds several useful new features.
Siri AI Improvements
Siri AI can recall past conversations you had with it, so you can ask ‌Siri‌ about something it told you before, like a restaurant it previously recommended. It’s also able to draw on more sources:
Photos attached to Messages
Calendar event attendees
Voicemails
Apple says you’ll also get better results from Safari history and Reading List.
There’s a redesigned Excluded Apps feature that lets you quickly select which apps ‌Siri‌, Search, and suggestions can access. The prior App Access feature required excluding apps individually.
There’s also granular text selection, so you can select and copy just the part of a ‌Siri‌ response you need.
‌Siri‌ AI requires an iPhone 15 Pro or later.
Siri AI Languages
‌Siri‌ AI is now available in more languages, including French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish. ‌Siri‌ AI is still not available in the EU or mainland China.
Messages
Suggestions in Messages have been added in iOS 27.2. The feature was available during the ‌iOS 27‌ beta testing period, but was removed before launch.
Messages suggestions show tappable shortcuts in a conversation based on context, so you can do things like track a package with a tap, or add a dinner invite to the Calendar app.
You can choose the suggestions you want, with options to add Calendar, Reminders, Notes, Maps, and Flights and Packages.
Apple Music
iOS 27.2 introduces a new Apple Music icon that goes with Apple’s recent ‌Apple Music‌ rebranding. The icon is black and white, replacing the red icon. Apple also changed the color of the highlights in the navigation bar and other areas of the ‌Apple Music‌ app to remove the red color.
Photos
Shared Albums in the ‌Photos‌ app now have an edit option for captions and comments. Apple also added a feature for avoiding duplicate photos, and there’s now a reminder before albums expire so users can save important photos and videos.
SynthID
iOS 27.2 includes SynthID labeling for Image Playground images and some ‌Photos‌ app edits. Watermarks are added when using Extend and Reframe in ‌Photos‌, and for large edits with the Clean Up tool. You can check images for SynthID using Google’s SynthID Detector website.
Podcasts
The Home tab in the Podcasts app has separate sections for New Episodes and Continue Playing. The new sections replace Up Next.
Games
The Friends tab in the Games app now includes context on friend suggestions and shows recent games played on friends’ player pages.
Apple TV
Apple TV app users can now create profiles in the account settings section on the iPhone and iPad. Profiles only require a name, profile rating, and information about whether the user is a child.
Creating a profile for a child limits content to a PG rating by default, but there is a customize option for finer control. Users can select age ratings for TV shows and movies that are appropriate for the child based on their age.
Phone
The Call Context feature in the Phone app reminds you of a contact’s anniversary when you call them, as long as you’ve saved the date in the Contacts app.
FaceTime
FaceTime Dual Capture is now available in group ‌FaceTime‌ calls. Dual Capture is a feature that lets you stream ‌FaceTime‌ video content from the front and rear cameras at the same time. On a compatible device running ‌iOS 27‌, flipping the camera while on a ‌FaceTime‌ call automatically turns on Dual Capture.
Dual Capture is available on the iPhone 17, ‌iPhone 17‌ Pro, ‌iPhone 17‌ Pro Max, iPhone Air, iPhone 18 Pro, ‌iPhone 18 Pro‌ Max, and ‌iPhone Duo‌.
Apple also added an option to add a third-party sign language interpreter or live captioner to a call.
Shortcuts
‌iOS 27‌ includes new automations, actions, and improvements for the Shortcuts app. There’s a new “when my iPhone is opened or closed” automation for the ‌iPhone Duo‌.
An updated Workout automation adds support for the Fitness app, and the App automation can provide the name of the app that was closed.
Window layout can be configured with the “Show Actions” and Show Describe a Shortcut” menu items, and Shortcut names and icons can be edited from the library.
iPhone Duo Updates
iOS 27.2 adds Apple Pencil USB-C support to the ‌iPhone Duo‌. It also includes Edge Light to illuminate your face during video calls.
Multiview
iOS 27.2 expands Multiview in the ‌Apple TV‌ app to the iPhone, so users can watch up to four live sports streams simultaneously.
Multiview works for sports events included in an ‌Apple TV‌ subscription: Major League Soccer (MLS), Formula 1 (F1) in the U.S., and Friday Night Baseball doubleheaders during the Major League Baseball season.
Clock App
There are smaller a.m. and p.m. labels in the alarm list in the Clock app.
EU – App Tracking Transparency
App Tracking Transparency supports an alternative expanded prompt for EU users along with re-prompting on an annual basis. The alternative prompt is required for users in France, Germany, Italy, Poland, and Romania.
Health App
Apple tested its redesigned Health app in the iOS 27.2 beta, but it won’t be coming out until later this year and is not included in iOS 27.2.
Security Fixes
iOS 27.2 addresses more than 160 security vulnerabilities. None of the vulnerabilities were actively exploited, but it’s always a good idea to update when this many fixes are included.
