SACRAMENTO, Calif. —
According to Golden 1 Center, J. Cole’s Sacramento concert was canceled just hours before it was scheduled due to a tour crew member’s death in a car crash.
The downtown Sacramento venue issued a press release stating that “J. Cole’s concert scheduled for tonight at Golden 1 Center, August 27, has been cancelled” due to the death of a tour crew member in an accident on a truck this morning. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of the member who died in this tragic accident.
The crash involving J. Cole concert gear was reported in Yolo County on Thursday morning. According to California Highway Patrol, the big rig flipped along Interstate 5 in the Zamora-Dufour area and north of Woodland.
On Saturday and Sunday, the hip-hop star has two shows in Oakland. Unconfirmed is whether the concerts in Oakland will be affected.
Golden 1 Center announced that guests who bought tickets via Ticketmaster would receive a refund automatically. The remaining guests can seek refunds from their original points of purchase.

Shelley Fabares’ family confirmed her cause of death. People reported that relatives told them that the longtime television and film actor had died from pneumonia after being diagnosed with autoimmune Hepatitis. She had undergone a liver-transplant 26 years earlier.
Fabares, who was 82 years old when he died on August 22, has passed away.
The two-time Emmy-winning actress was born in Santa Monica on January 19th, 1944. She began her Hollywood career with guest appearances in mid-1950s television shows, before securing a regular role in The Donna Reed Show, which spanned five seasons and nearly 200 episodes from 1958 to 1963. After appearing in several films with Elvis Presley, she returned to television work.
Fabares landed several guest-starring roles over the course of two decades, including The Twilight Zone and The Incredible Hulk. She also appeared in Fantasy Island, Mork & Mindy on The Love Boat, Newhart, The Love Boat. In the 1971 telefilm Brian’s Song, she played Brian Piccolo’s wife.

She will be playing the role that she is best known for in her next TV regular gig. Fabares played Christine Armstrong on ABC’s long-running sitcom Coach. She was Craig T. Nelson’s wife and the love interest of the titular Craig T. Nelson. In 1993 and 1994, she was nominated for back-to-back Emmys as Christine Armstrong during the nine-season run of 200 episodes.
She played Superman’s adopted mother Martha Kent on episodes of Superman: The Animated Series and Superman: Brainiac Attacks.

Anthony and Joe Russo’s producing skills likely contributed to the impressive cast of Netflix’s The Whisper Man. James Ashcroft’s thriller is more about content than craftsmanship, but it’s still entertaining. It may not be as chilling as the plot of a serial killer who preys on young boys, as suggested by its storyline. It doesn’t have the visceral fervor of the New Zealand director’s debut film Coming Home in the dark, released 2021, but it is still a good streaming movie.
The movie, which was adapted by Ben Jacoby, and co-screenwriter Chase Palmer of It, begins with the police searching for Neil Spencer (a child abducted the previous night from his New Jersey home), led by detective Amanda Beck, played by Michelle Monaghan. The body of a missing child is discovered, although no trace of Neil Spencer has been found.
Acston Luca Porto plays Jake, an eight-year old boy who is traumatized by his father’s move to the Jersey Shore. Tom Kennedy, a widowed writer of crime fiction (Adam Scott), hopes that the new environment will help his son. Jake is not at home in the large old house his father rented. (Anastasia White’s production design work here is excellent) He seeks comfort from an imaginary companion he has brought with him.
Meanwhile, Det. Beck notices eerie similarities between the newly discovered corpses and victims of a 25-year-old murder trail, which was committed by the Whisper Man. This killer became famous for his ability to beckon prey at night through the windows of their homes. Local folklore has been influenced by the creepy rhyme that was associated with these crimes. Netflix requested reviews do not identify the actor who played Frank Carter. He is still behind bars serving a lifetime sentence.
Carter was arrested by Detective. Pete Willis, played by Robert De Niro, retired shortly after the incident but quietly kept obsessing about a sixth unidentified victim. Pete Willis (Robert De Niro) is Tom’s father, and has not even met his grandson. Only a drawing of a young child and a tape with the voice of the boy missing are the only clues. This is similar to the method used by Carter 25 years ago.
They show an economizing sense by mentioning only Pete’s alcoholism, and not going into detail about Tom’s distance. It’s not hard to picture the absence of parenting from a father who is likely to be married to his career and consumed with one particular case.
Tom’s bitterness towards his father is revealed in a torrent contempt at the diner when the novelist insists Pete gets involved with the investigation despite repeatedly claiming that he had left detective work. Beck asks Pete for his help as well. She has an idea that Carter could hold the key to both finding Neil Spencer and Jake. However, Carter has never agreed to speak to anyone other than Pete.
De Niro is in a great role here, with remorse and loneliness written on his face, as Pete tries to reach out to Tom, who has been steadfastly uninterested. When Carter, the ex-detective, starts to cooperate with Pete the psychological gameplay between them brings back a shivering memory of the many times he was played by the murderer.
Norman Collins, a stylish sicko who has a collection of memorabilia from murders and other crimes (Hamish linklater) is one person that is of particular interest. He visited Carter’s prison twice within the last few months. Other possibilities emerge, which point to a direct link between today’s horrors and the Whisper Man. The final stretch is filled with violence and tragedy.
Ashcroft is a confident director, even though some of the developments in the final act are more reminiscent of pulpy crime novels than real-life psychological situations. He also doesn’t always stick to his guns. The actors are able to keep the film interesting even when it seems like the plot is dragging at times. They add emotional depth through the consideration of father-son relationships. Colin Stetson’s score maintains the unsettling mood.

California Highway Patrol reported earlier that day that the California Highway Patrol confirmed the death of the driver after a large truck overturned in Yolo County, near Woodland in the early hours of Thursday morning.
CBS Sacramento reported that a representative of J. Cole told them the truck was transporting gear for Thursday’s concert in Golden 1 Center. The truck was driven from Seattle where J. Cole played on Tuesday.
Golden 1 Center announced later that the concert was postponed. They confirmed that one of the members of the tour crew had died.
Golden 1 Center issued a press release saying, “Our hearts go out to the family members and friends of crew member during this difficult time.”
Arena officials said that fans who bought tickets via Ticketmaster would automatically be refunded. The remaining ticket holders can seek refunds at their original points of purchase.
The show was not announced immediately.
Jarlath Parker, 66 years old and from Jackson in South Carolina was the driver.
CHP reports that the accident occurred shortly after 6:05 am, south of County Road 95. Both southbound I-5 lanes were blocked by the collision.
CBS News Sacramento photojournalist Dave Grashoff said that the driver was rescued and a helicopter called.
The driver was reported to have drifted to the right and tried to get back on the road. The driver then lost control of the truck and it overturned.
It’s not known at this point, but it could have been due to a distraction. “Unfortunately, the sole occupant of the vehicle did not survive,” stated Sgt. David Barker, of the California Highway Patrol.

DUFOUR, Calif. —
On Thursday, a person was killed after a large truck carrying the concert gear of musician J. Cole overturned and crashed along Interstate 5 near Yolo County.
According to California Highway Patrol online traffic logs, the crash occurred shortly after 6:05 am along southbound I-5 between Zamora, Dufour and Northwest of Woodland. All lanes were blocked by the overturned truck just south of County Road 95. They have now been reopened.
The crews worked for hours to remove and upright the large truck from the road, before they reopened all the lanes.
Brian Hickey, a traffic expert said that a helicopter was sent to investigate the accident. It has now left the scene.
Golden 1 Center confirms that the deceased was part of J. Cole’s touring team. The concert was originally scheduled for Sacramento, California on Thursday night. However, the event has been cancelled.
Golden 1 Center issued a press release saying, “Our hearts go out to the family members and friends of crew member during this difficult time.”
Ticketmaster customers will receive a refund automatically. Concertgoers who purchased tickets at other venues can also request refunds.
