Florida man’s execution date set for killing 2, including small child

NEWYou can now hear Fox News articles. A Florida man is scheduled to be executed next month following his conviction for the killing of his girlfriend’s cousin and her 4-year old daughter under a warrant signed by Gov. Ron DeSantis on Wednesday. Richard Knight, 47, is scheduled to die by lethal infusion at Florida State Prison in Starke, May 21, as part of a number of death warrants that the governor has signed. Knight was convicted of the 2000 murders Odessia Stevens and her daughter, Hanessia, according to WFLA. Prosecutors claimed that Knight and Stephens had been in an argument on the night of the murder. Authorities described the killings as “heinous and cruel” in court records, according to the outlet. Investigators say that Stephens suffered stab wounds on her chest, chin, and back. She also had injuries that indicated she was strangled. Knight’s attorneys have been unable to appeal this case. In 2025, Florida will set a new record for the number of executions. The previous record was eight in 1984 and 2014. Florida had a record of eight executions per year between 1984 and 2014, but that was before last year. In the United States, 47 people will be executed by 2025. This year, Florida has already executed 5 people. Another execution is scheduled for April 30 when James Hitchcock 70, is scheduled to die for the rape of his 13-year old step-niece.

Child reunited with mom after transgender dad, partner allegedly kidnap abroad amid gender surgery fears: feds

NEWYou can listen to Fox News articles now!A Utah custody case escalated to an international case when a 10-year old child was allegedly taken by a transparent because family members feared gender-reassignment surgery would take place in Cuba.Federal officials allege that the child’s father, Rose Inessa, 42, also known by Eri, along with the father’s partner Blue Inessa, 32, also called Carly Ann Crosby never made it to the planned destination of a camping Investigators claim that the couple took the child to multiple countries without the mother’s consent or knowledge. This is now the subject of a federal case of international parental kidnapping. The two were located in Cuba with FBI assistance on April 16, and returned to the U.S. Monday. They appeared in federal court Richmond, Virginia. The two are expected to be moved to Utah where they will face charges of international parenting kidnapping. According to a federal criminal case, the trip began on March 28 when the child was taken to what the mother thought was a camping trip to Calgary. The group entered Canada the next day on foot via the Peace Arch border crossing, Washington state. However, they never checked into a hotel or campsite. This was confirmed by the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the District of Utah. Mexican immigration officials later confirmed the group’s movements using U.S. passports.Investigators say the trip appeared far from spontaneous. According to the complaint filed by the couple, searches of their home revealed detailed planning notes. These included references to learning Spanish and securing travel documentation, as well as preparing for extended trips. MOTHER CLAIMS CHILDREN DIED AFTER RELIGIOUS BRUINWASHING AS AMBER ALERT ISSUEDBack in Utah the child’s mom was left waiting. The last time the mother heard from her child was on March 28 when the child informed her that the group had safely arrived in Canada. As the days passed without contact, the concern grew. Court documents state that both adults turned off their phones on March 28, cutting communication off, while the child did not have an independent way to contact his family. Authorities said that some relatives believed the child, who was born male but identified as female, had been influenced Rose. There were also concerns that the child could have been taken outside the country to undergo a possible gender reassignment before reaching puberty. Davis told the outlet, “I don’t believe she ever imagined Rose could do this before it was too late.” “She was afraid she would never see her child again. The group was located by Cuban authorities three days later, on the 16th of April. U.S. officials working with international partners secured the child’s return to the U.S. Robert Bohls, FBI Salt Lake City Special agent in charge, said that the safety and wellbeing of the child is always the priority in parental kidnapping cases. This case shows the power of partnerships to locate victims, support reunification and ensure accountability. “CLICK HERE TO DOWNLOAD FOX NEWS APPFBI director Kash Patel also weighed into the case. He said that agents and their partners had “acted quickly and rescued a young child” who was kidnapped, and ended up in Cuba. He added that the child has now returned “safely”.
