Police say the mystery is not the whereabouts of these two men but rather the answers to questions about their past. “We’re looking to find them.” Pasco Police Lt. Tom Groom said to the Tri-City Herald that they knew their exact location. “We are asking for information on how they have been living with their adopted names. The men left a faint trail across the country, with ties to Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Arizona, Texas and California. The deputy was heard broadcasting the description of the driver as he wore “black pants and white shirt” while officers set up a perimeter. Memphis Police Chief Cerelyn Davies said that someone knows about the missing children we discovered in this area. This is heartbreaking and disturbing. We have many resources that can help us identify these children and bring closure to the investigation. Davis said that authorities believe the bones were in a “heavily-vegetated area” for several years and “there is no indication of an active threat to our community.” “SKELETAL REMINISCENCES FOUND BY HITCHHIKERS IN WASHINGTON WOODS IDENTIFIED TO BE WOMAN MISSING FROM 2024The Memphis Police Department has released photos of investigators searching the woods. The Memphis Fire Department and the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation are assisting in the operation, which involves 170 personnel. It is also being conducted in collaboration with Shelby County Medical Examiner’s Office. Investigators are conducting a systematic search between Winchester Road and Ridgeway Road to find additional evidence. Police say that the investigation began March 8 when an anonymous caller reported a possible skull near a wooded region. “Responding officers found what appeared to be human skull at the edge” of the woods. “INVESTIGATION CONTINUES AFTER HUNDREDS of CREMATED HUMAN REMAINS DISCOVERED, RECOVERED IN NEVADA DESERTA A few days later, police said, “cadaver-K9 units alerted to a drainage pipe nearby, indicating the possibility of additional human remains.” Investigators discovered what appeared to be a second skull in the drainage system on April 1. The next day, “searching teams conducted a coordinated canvass and recovered fourteen additional bones that were consistent with human remains,” Memphis Police also stated. The police said that “identification is ongoing and investigators are working both to determine the identities of individuals and the circumstances around their deaths.” Laquita Singleterry is a local mother who told FOX13 Memphis that the discovery was “really heartbreaking.” “I hope they find the rightful owners,” she said.
