Rashmika Mandanna’s rosy gloss and Kajol’s smouldering mauve lids are the stars of this week’s beauty looks

The beauty looks of this week were all about highlighting one feature, whether it was Rashmika Mandanna’s glossy lips, Kajol’s softly smoked eye or Sreeleela’s dewy complexion. The looks were a mix of polished elegance and polished glam, with sleek updos and glowing complexions. Some went for dramatic, rich eyes, while others opted for glossy lips and subtle definition. These looks were wearable, striking, and full of inspiration. From festive beauty to red-carpet glamour, they were all inspiring. Neha Dhupia kept her look clean, sharp, and incredibly polished. Her slicked back hair instantly gave the look structure while her makeup highlighted warm, highlighted features. The bronzey brown eye makeup gave the look a subtle depth without being too heavy, and her terracotta lip color brought everything together beautifully. Sreeleela’s makeup was a perfect example of traditional festive glamour. Her rose-gold lids, precise kohl, long lashes and rose-gold liner brought focus to her eyes, while the satin finish on her skin gave it a smooth, silky look. The peachy lips were a great choice, as they balanced out the richness of the headpiece and jewellery without competing. Sanya Malhotra’s beauty look was fresh, cool, and slightly edgy. Her smoky shimmering eyes were the focus. Silver metallic tones and deep purple smudged eyeliner added dimension and made her eyes really pop. She kept the look in balance by pairing it with a pink lip balm, glowing skin and a pink-peach lipstick. The braided style added a playful and fashion-forward element. Mrunal Thakur chose evergreen glam as her latest look, and it worked. Her sleek bun, minimalistic jewellery and minimalistic bindi set the tone. The makeup was defined but not overwhelming. The matte, even-toned complexion and kohl-lined eyes gave her face structure. Her rosy lips, which were glossy and glistening, instantly made her look fresher. She paired it with a softly winged eyeliner and glowing skin, which looked healthy instead of overly highlighted. The beachy waves in the hair up in the ponytail created a contrast that was both elegant and casual. This look could be worn to a wedding or a formal event. The darker tones added intensity but the mauve kept things from feeling too harsh. Her plum-brown glossy lips were the perfect finishing touches: soft enough for the dramatic eyes but rich enough to stand on their own.

5 small habits (beyond yoghurt) to take care of your gut health and prevent bloating

After a scientific analysis of Maria Branyas Morera’s longevity, the yogurt from La Fageda became famous. Branyas Morera, who became the longest-living person in the world in 2023, died in 2024 at the age 117, exceeding the average spanish woman’s life expectancy by more than 30. The research revealed that Branyas’ gut health was comparable with that of a younger person. Maria herself revealed in her social networks, managed by her family, that she ate three servings of natural yogurt every day without exception. There are many other habits that, without too much effort, can also do a lot for our intestinal wellbeing. There are many other habits which, without much effort, can do a great deal for our intestinal health. “More than 70% of the immune system is located in the intestine, and its balance plays a key role,” says Montse Prados. According to the doctor changes in the microbiota or intestinal permeability, as well as unidentified intolerances, cause a constant immune activation. This is linked to not only digestive symptoms but also fatigue, mood changes, hormonal fluctuations, inflammation, and difficulty regulating body weight. “It’s important to realize that ageing is not only a function of time, but also of the internal state of organs,” he says. Ana Quiroa Fernandez de Soto is a pharmacist in the Farmacia Collazo in Madrid. She agrees and warns, “The market has become saturated with probiotics which promise to improve the microbiota but die before they reach the stomach.” The classic mistake is thinking that any yoghurt, or capsule, will do. If the probiotic does not survive gastric acid, you are just taking expensive placebos.” Inflammation in the gut, which is our second brain will affect our energy, mood, and immune system. “Restoring this ecosystem is the only solution to stop recurrent bloating,” says he. Here are his tips on how to achieve this without too much effort. Take note: Chrononutrition as an ally. “The intestine is its own biological clock. Eating late and going to sleep quickly forces bacteria ferment food stagnantly while sleeping. The rule of 30 chews states that digestion begins in the mouth but bloating begins with the rush. Chewing the food until it is almost liquid reduces the workload for your microbiota, and prevents aerophagia. This is responsible for 30% of extra abdominal volume. “Beware of eating too much “raw” at night: “Sometimes in our eagerness to eat healthily, we overindulge on evening salads. Cellulose is hard to process at night when metabolism slows. After-meal mobility is important: “It is not about going to the gymnasium, but about avoiding mechanical collapsing. A ten-minute stroll after the main meal can help prevent gas from becoming trapped in the bends and promote natural peristalsis. The digestive system is at its best when it is 37degC. Warm liquids and infusions are best for an active microbiota.

Single women deserve honeymoons too—and no, I’m not talking about a girls’ trip

I’m in a speedboat, whizzing to my latest vacation destination. As we bounce, I try to take a self-portrait. I want to take a picture of the islands, the waves and the boats but I can’t get the couples kissing out of the background. No matter which direction I turn, I always see couples on honeymoon in my viewfinder. The boat operators and myself are the only two single people on board. Technically, I am also a part a couple – actually, a trio of single girlfriends headed to Anguilla. This trip is what I call a “we-moon”. We often reserve our dream destinations for the day that we can go there with the person who we’ve decided to spend the rest of our lives with. There are the babymoon and the honeymoon, but when can single women celebrate their life milestones with companionship and adventure and fulfill their desire for companionship? The we-moon is a trip with two girlfriends. You may be wondering what the difference is between this and a typical girls’ trip. A we-moon celebrates a major life milestone, much like a babymoon or honeymoon. It was my first novel. Single women travel so often to celebrate other people’s bachelorette, wedding or baby shower. We rarely get friends to travel for something that does not fit into a typical timeline. That is the purpose of the we-moon. It’s a phone call asking your friends to celebrate with you an achievement, just as you do for others. When planning the perfect we-moon there are a few things to consider to ensure that the trip runs smoothly. I spoke with Joy Harden Bradford PhD, author Sisterhood Heals, about how to have a destination celebration without drama. On a wemoon, you want to balance time spent together with time alone. Dr. Bradford suggests separate rooms, if you can afford it. We rented a villa in Anguilla, so everyone had their own room and bathroom. It was ideal for those who wanted to wake up early and read a book quietly on their balcony, or those who wanted to stay in bed and order room service. This location was ideal for the we-moon as our hotel offered the privacy of a home while still providing access to hotel amenities and personalised service. You should discuss your plans in advance. “I think that having a place that everyone can retreat to and have alone-time is really good, if that’s something that the group is able to do.” She says that private sleeping quarters is important. “Also, having conversations about the budget before hand is important. Some people may say, “Oh, we don’t need a five star hotel.” We’re only going to sleep there. We’re going out.’ Other people are like, “No, I prefer luxury.’ You don’t want wait until you arrive to find out there’s a different in the group on that.”

10 everyday eyeliners that won’t smudge by noon

At 9 am all of our eyeliners will be razor-sharp. By noon, however, they have migrated, smudged, or disappeared entirely. This is due to humidity, long commutes and oily lids, or even a simple eye rub. This gel liner is perfect for marathon wear. It delivers a rich black pigment and a creamy glide. It sets quickly. The waterproof, transfer resistant formula is designed to withstand sweat, humidity, and long days.

3 surprising factors fueling your migraines

The temperatures are rising, and some parts of the globe are experiencing a heatwave that is unprecedented. While you’re likely focused on staying cool, a new study published in the Journal Neurology has revealed that migraine headaches are more common than usual. This study revealed three lesser-known triggers of migraine headaches, which can be more prevalent in the summer. The study’s findings and how doctors who treat migraine patients recommend protecting yourself are listed below. Researchers tracked weather conditions and participants’ daily exposures to air pollution during the study period. Researchers also examined how often people visited their primary care doctor or hospital with a headache (and when). The data was compared with the pollution and weather conditions of that day, as well as seven days prior. During the study period 2,215 people (32%), had at least one migraine-related visit to a hospital or clinic. Researchers also found that 47% had purchased triptan medications, which are fast-acting prescription drugs that are designed to stop migraines. Most participants used at least two tablets per month. They found that higher levels of pollution were associated with more visits to a clinic or hospital for migraines. The researchers also found that the days with the lowest number of visits to a hospital or clinic had lower pollution levels than average. The study found that people with short-term exposures to high nitrogen dioxide levels (a common pollutant emitted by traffic exhaust) are 41% more likely than others to seek medical attention for migraine symptoms. Researchers said that high temperatures and low humidity are linked to more headaches. This is likely because they amplify the effects of nitrogen dioxide. But doctors say that there is likely something to this.
