The organizers of Miss North Carolina USA have stripped her recently-crowned title. They said Wednesday that the winner had not upheld the “standards” and “values” set by the pageant.
Blaize Productions (organizers of the North Carolina competition) has confirmed that Brittany Boltinhouse will not be representing the Tar Heel state at the 75th Miss USA 2026 Pageant in Miami on August 27.
Myla Hadley, the first-runner up in this year’s competition, will now represent North Carolina.
In a press release, A Blaize Productions stated that “As the organization responsible for selecting and training women who will represent their states at the national level, we are required to uphold the values and standards our titleholders agreed to when they accepted the honor to wear the crown.”
The statement continued, “A Blaize Productions, after careful consideration and multiple conversations, as well as in consultation with Miss USA Organization has made the hard decision to end Brittany Boltinhouse’s reign of Miss North Carolina USA 2020,”
A Blaize did not elaborate on Botinhouse’s alleged mistakes, but Miss USA’s President and CEO Thom Brodeur released a statement stating that “the organization does not tolerate racism or homophobia nor any language that strips anyone of dignity — whatever they may be.”
Boltinhouse was not available for comment on Thursday via the publicly-listed phone numbers.
On Wednesday she posted an extensive, cryptic message to her followers, warning them not to take anyone’s advice.

Deadline reported that Kit Connor is Marvel’s pick to portray the iconic mutant leader and director of the X-Men, in an upcoming movie directed by Jake Schreier. The trade reports that a few actors were tested in July. After a few weeks of back-and-forth, Connor finally won out.
Although the film has not been released yet, there have long been rumors that an announcement of its cast was on the way. The news was expected at San Diego Comic-Con but now that it has been announced, the team is still far from being set. Marvel also had to keep a secret that the identity of one main character was being used as a spoiler in another film.
Connor’s credits are impressive, particularly in the animation field. He’s also the voice for Brightbill, in The Wild Robot, which was io9’s favourite movie of 2024. Pantalaimon was his voice in HBO’s His Dark Materials. Both of these performances were made many years ago and, although he has grown considerably, they still showed his range.
Now he will be torn by the choice between Sadie Sink or Samara Weaving.
There’s no word on what other X-Men will be needed for the upcoming movie, nor when that information might come to light. However, Disney’s D23 Convention is in a few days, and there’s a chance we may learn more at this time.

Phoebe Bridgers takes her album artwork’s celestial theme seriously. The “Lost Boys’ singer-songwriter announced that, in partnership with Spotify and the Lost Weekend LP release date, August 14, special listening parties will be held inside planetariums.
Lost Weekend is paired with either a dome show created by Babak Tafreshi or a laser show by Laser Fantasy. The planetarium will be free of phones and cameras at all listening events. Devices are placed in Yondr bags upon arrival, and then returned after the event.
Over 40 locations in the United States and Canada will be screening it in-person. A press release states that each location will offer multiple screenings.
Bridgers will embark on her Lost Tour next month. She will appear in Primetime as a member of the cast of the new A24 film directed by Lance Oppenheim, starring Robert Pattinson, based on Chris Hansen’s infamous TV show To Catch a Predator from the 2000s. The movie received a brand new trailer and is set to hit theaters September 25, 2018.

Hilary Duff played the first of her two sold out shows last night at New York City’s Madison Square Garden, with the entire evening dedicated to the millennials.
The pop singer, who looked better than ever on her return to stage brought nostalgic classics such as “So Yesterday,” Come Clean,” and “Anywhere but Here,” to be met by waves of 30-something CD-era fans screaming-singing each and every word.
Duff also included some of the fan favorites from her recent album Luck… Or Something, as this was her “Mature” period.
Duff prepared us for the finale by changing from her flirty pink outfit to a baggy pair of jeans and oversized Good Charlotte T-shirt. Benji and Joel Madden, the twins she dated between 2004 and 2006, joined Duff onstage. The three hugged tightly and performed their hit 2002 song, “The Anthem.”
Joel Richie’s wife Nicole Richie and Duff’s spouse Matthew Koma posed with the Madden Brothers and Cinderella Story’s star, Hilary Duff, backstage. Joel posted the picture on Instagram with “FAMILY DAY @ MSG – CONGRATS to @hilaryduff.” “Love yall.”
Duff’s Lucky Me World Tour began on June 22, 2026 in West Palm Beach in Florida and will conclude in Mexico City on February 12, 2020. Her 2026 album Luck… Or Something is her sixth studio record and follows 11 years on from her 2015 Breathe in. Breathe out.
Duff donned a fringed silver dress to perform her finale, a joyous rendition of the Lizzie McGuire classic “What Dreams Are Made of”. The song made all Lizzie McGuire fans’ hearts explode. The singer thanked her fans as pink and orange confetti rained on the audience. She said, “I will remember this night for ever.”

James said that he began to wonder as he grew older if a sparkle in his eyes was something i had to hide from the “normal” boys that were around him. “Like so many other gay children, I had to learn to accept and celebrate certain parts of me before I could even begin to appreciate them.”
James dimmed his lights to fit in, but wishes that he had told his younger self not to hide.

He said he had grown tired of hiding himself and was ready to reveal the truth.
James replied, “Not that he has changed but because he is tired of hiding.” It’s not about changing into someone else, but about letting everyone know who you are.
In his letter, he continued: “I wish that my family, as well as others, can choose to love, rather than fear. I hope they will also choose understanding, instead of judgment. And connection, over beliefs which may have separated us.” “I hope that they will see beyond labels to simply me as the same person they have always known. I want them to look past the labels, and just be able to recognize the heart, laugh, and soul of the man they know.”
James is grateful that he no longer feels the need to apologize about the things in himself that makes him who he truly is.
He wrote… “That boy with glitter and mascara on the lashes, was never broken or confused. He was just gay. He was happy. “He was courageous before he knew it.”
James and Romi were married in 2024 and separated a few days later. James and Romi are working together to turn her book into an upcoming television series, James will direct.
