Sunrise on Reaping’ Bound for $60M Opening
EXCLUSIVE: Just like Lionsgate fired up the early summer box office with their blast off of Michael ($97.2M U.S., $218.8M WW), they’re poised to be the saviors of the Thanksgiving box office as their highly anticipated prequel The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping has hit tracking with a floor of $60M+ U.S. and rivals betting that the 3-day goes substantially higher, possibly even north of $70M.
The movie, from Hunger Games franchise director Francis Lawrence, starts shooting arrows into cinemas on Nov. 20.
RELATED: 53 Of The Most Anticipated Movies Of 2026
A domestic start like that for a sixth film in a feature series would be fantastic since it would be an upward turn from the opening of its previous chapter, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds & Snakes which bowed to $44.6M stateside (and legged out to $166.3M domestic, and $394M WW). Note that movie was based on a darker tale in the Suzanne Collins novel series about the origins of notorious villain Coriolanus Snow. That novel posted slower sales during its Covid release, not to mention the film bowed soon after the Actors Strike ended in 2023. Lionsgate had the first big Hollywood premiere with stars post-strike (and they also received a SAG waiver for their cast to promote as an indie company), however, the lead-up and drum roll here for Sunrise on the Reaping is much greater, read there was a recent London fan event with cast and there’s an L.A. one next week. Not to mention, this is a highly anticipated story in the franchise as it revisits the world of Panem 24 years before the events of The Hunger Games, starting on the morning of the reaping of the 50th Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell. Joseph Zada stars as the younger version of Woody Harrelson’s Haymitch Abernathy and Jesse Plemmons as the younger version of Philip Seymour Hoffman’s Plutarch Heavensbee. Another halo working in favor of Sunrise on the Reaping are the reported cameos of OG stars Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson.
Another lightning rod indicator of success is Sunrise on the Reaping‘s trailer views, which was the second most watched trailer ever for a Lionsgate movie behind Michael, the prequel racking up 109M views in its first 24 hours.
In regards to first choice, Sunrise on the Reaping definitely hot with women, but men under 25 aren’t far behind. Women under 25 are stellar on par with Wicked, higher than Beetlejuice Beetlejuice and close to 40% above Songbirds and Snakes. Overall first choice is higher than Wicked ($112.5M), Michael ($97.2M), The Devil Wears Prada 2 ($76.7M), and on par with Beetlejuice Beetlejuice ($111M).
The biggest domestic opening in the Hunger Games franchise belongs to 2013’s Catching Fire with $158M.
The Hunger Games franchise encompasses five novels that have sold more than 100 million copies worldwide and been translated into 52 languages, as well as the blockbuster film franchise that has grossed more than $3.4 billion at the global box office spanning five movies. Sunrise on the Reaping sold over 1.5 million copies worldwide in its first week, marking the biggest debut for any title in Collins’ Hunger Games book series. In the U.S. alone, the book sold 1.2 million copies, more than twice the opening sales of The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes and over three times that of Mockingjay.
Sunrise on the Reaping stars Ralph Fiennes, Glenn Close, Kieran Culkin, Elle Fanning, Mckenna Grace, Maya Hawke, Whitney Peak and Kelvin Harrison Jr.
While we’ve been racing toward a potential $10 billion year at the domestic box office, the last two Novembers, which had Wicked, Moana 2 Gladiator 2 in 2024 and Wicked: For Good and Zootopia 2 last year, will be very hard to compete with. The five-day 2024 Thanksgiving stretch was a record with $424.9M. Last year’s 5-day Thanksgiving haul was the fourth best ever at the North American box office with $292.8M.

Dax Shepard Says He Gave Kate Hudson ‘111%’ of His Charm While She Was Married to Chris Robinson
Dax Shepard knew Kate Hudson was married to Black Crowes singer Chris Robinson when she joined a poker game at her brother Oliver’s house. He tried to impress her anyway.
Shepard, 51, recalled the encounter during the October 28 episode of Armchair Expert, speaking with sisters Sara and Erin Foster. “I gave her 111% of any charm I have, right?” he said, according to Entertainment Weekly.
Shepard had become an admirer of Hudson, now 47, after watching Almost Famous. He remembered struggling to believe she was sitting there with him.
The two eventually dated for about three months in 2007. Shepard later married Kristen Bell in 2013, and they have two daughters. Hudson has been engaged to musician Danny Fujikawa since 2021.
A Malibu Dinner Gave Shepard Another Chance With Hudson
Shepard said he left the card game expecting nothing to happen, although he privately considered his performance a success. Later, a mutual friend’s invitation to dinner in Malibu brought them together again.
Hudson and Robinson had announced their separation in August 2006, as CBS News reported at the time. At the dinner, Shepard understood that she was single and decided to try his luck again. This time, they began spending practically every day together.
Sara’s memories included the beanies the couple seemed to wear constantly. “You guys got serious fast,” she told him. Shepard supplied a less fashion-focused memory, joking about how much time they spent kissing and having sex.
Sara also admitted feeling protective of Shepard because she had been friends with him before the romance began. She recalled questioning Hudson about dating someone she considered her best friend, only for Hudson to reply, “You don’t know him that well.” Shepard laughed at the revelation; he hadn’t known that conversation had happened.
Shepard Recalls Feeling Out of Place in Hudson’s Hollywood Circle
Dating Hudson introduced Shepard to a social circle that felt unfamiliar. She had grown up with Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell, and he was struck by the connections among her family and friends. Coming from the Detroit area, he felt like an outsider among people whose lives had long overlapped in Hollywood.
Erin challenged his recollection of how he fit in. Although she hadn’t been as close to Hudson as Sara was at the time, she remembered the actress’s friends seeing Shepard as an approachable, down-to-earth guy. She also said they respected that he didn’t treat Hudson with the kid gloves someone else might have used.
Hudson Previously Explained Why Their Relationship Ended
Hudson and Shepard discussed their breakup directly when she appeared with Oliver on the November 4, 2019, episode of Armchair Expert. Both remembered getting along and making each other laugh, but they described being at different points in their lives, according to Us Weekly.
Shepard said his career had been a source of insecurity. Several films hadn’t worked out, and he worried about whether more roles would come. Hudson, meanwhile, was earning more and receiving opportunities he wanted for himself. Accompanying her as she worked brought those feelings to the surface.
“Honestly, I wasn’t giving Dax what he needed and I was making choices that were not relationship-focused,” Hudson said.

Patrick Stewart, actor known for iconic roles in ‘Star Trek’ and ‘X-Men,’ dies at 86
Beloved actor Patrick Stewart has died following a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease and Lewy body dementia, his representative confirmed. He was 86.
“We announce with great sorrow the passing of Sir Patrick Stewart yesterday at his home in Los Angeles, in the loving care of his beloved wife Sunny, following a brief and poignant journey with Alzheimer’s Disease and Lewy Body Dementia,” Kelly Bush Novak, his longtime spokesperson, said in a statement Thursday.

Stewart — whose storied career included the iconic roles of Professor X in the “X-Men” film series and Capt. Jean-Luc Picard in the “Star Trek” franchise — had spent quality time with loved ones before his death, according to the statement.
“He has been held in the warm embrace of family and friends, surrounded by live music, prayer, tears, laughter, and the kind of profound emotion that only he could inspire after a lifetime of devotion to us all,” the statement said. “We will forever cherish the peaceful ease and reflection of his invincible grace.”
Stewart, an indelible part of the “Star Trek” legacy, played Jean-Luc Picard for seven seasons on “Star Trek: The Next Generation,” from 1987 to 1994, and in multiple films, and he reprised the role in the Paramount+ show “Star Trek: Picard,” from 2020 to 2023.
He stepped into the role of Professor Charles Xavier with the 2000 film “X-Men” and continued to depict the genius mutant telepath in multiple sequels.
He was featured in a trailer for the highly anticipated “Avengers: Doomsday” film scheduled to be released in December, reprising the role for the eighth time in the mega Marvel crossover.
He had most recently done voice-over work in the film “The Sheep Detectives” and appeared in the Prime Video series “Bait,” both in 2026, according to his IMDb profile.
Born in the town of Mirfield in West Yorkshire, England, he joined the acclaimed Royal Shakespeare Company in 1966. He went on to make his Broadway debut in 1971 in “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” and forged a career on the silver screen.
In his theater career, he graced numerous Broadway and West End stages — including as the title character in “Macbeth” on Broadway, for which he was nominated for a Tony in 2008.
Across the pond, he won two Laurence Olivier Awards focused on London theater: the first in 1979 for best actor in a supporting role for his role in “Antony and Cleopatra” and the second in 2009 for best performance in a supporting role as King Claudius in “Hamlet.”
As a voice actor, Stewart lent his commanding baritone to the character Avery Bullock, the eccentric CIA director on the animated comedy “American Dad,” from its 2005 debut through this year. He also voiced several characters, including his own Capt. Jean-Luc Picard, on the animated comedy “Family Guy” from 2005 to 2018.
“His sonorous voice and singular talent will forever be synonymous with indelible performances in every genre,” the statement from Novak, Stewart’s spokesperson, said. “He explored the human condition in all its poetic complexity and brought hope not only to the far reaches of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but into science fiction’s most iconic final frontier aboard the Starship Enterprise.”
Off the stage, he was dedicated to philanthropy and activism, including advocating for human rights, domestic violence survivors, refugees, veteran mental health services and animal welfare.
A revered figure in Hollywood — with myriad accolades spanning nominations for Emmy Awards, Golden Globes and Screen Actors Guild Awards — he was also knighted in 2010 by Queen Elizabeth II for his services to drama.
The statement closed with a quote from his 2023 book, “Making It So: A Memoir”: “Like me, Jean-Luc has lived an unusual life that has taken him far beyond the bounds of normal human experience. But he is also someone who has remained true to his earthbound roots, for they are what gave him his identity. In the end, he feels the call of home, as do I.”
Marvel Studios said in a statement that it is “deeply saddened” by Stewart’s passing.
“Sir Patrick brought Professor Charles Xavier to life with extraordinary grace, intelligence, and humanity, defining the character for generations of fans, from ‘X-Men’ to ‘Logan’ to ‘Avengers: Doomsday,’” the statement said. “He was a singular talent, a generous collaborator, and a true gentleman. Our hearts go out to his wife Sunny, his children, his friends, and the countless fans around the world whose lives he touched with his art.”
Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, recalled first seeing Stewart in action.
“I’ll never forget the first time I saw Sir Patrick Stewart on the set of the first X-Men. After years of knowing him as the inimitable Captain Picard, I was in awe — and he turned out to be everything I had seen on screen and more: brilliant, charming, warm, generous, with a quiet strength and gravitas,” Feige said in a statement.
“Away from the cameras, he was even more remarkable, with a wonderfully sharp sense of humor. It was a true privilege to know him and to work with him. His legacy lives on not only in decades of extraordinary work, but in the many, many people he mentored. He will be deeply missed,” he added.
The Royal Shakespeare Company hailed Stewart as “a colossus of both stage and screen and one of the finest classical Shakespearean actors of his generation.”
“Despite being one of the most recognizable Shakespearean performers in the world, Sir Patrick remained deeply connected to Stratford-upon-Avon and the RSC throughout his career,” the company said, referring to Shakespeare’s birthplace, where RSC is based. “His contribution to our company and to our industry is beyond measure.”
The company said Stewart served as a core member through 1982.
Tributes poured in for Stewart from devoted fans and co-stars.
Hugh Jackman, who played Wolverine to Stewart’s Professor X in the “X-Men” films, shared photos of the pair on Instagram, writing: “We lost one of the greats of stage and screen today. And, in my book, a tremendous friend and man. I learned so much from him. I will miss you, Patrick Stewart, all of my days.”
William Shatner, a fellow “Star Trek” captain, remembered Stewart as “a friend, a colleague, and a magnificent actor.”
“From the stage to the bridge of the Enterprise, he brought intelligence, grace, and a deep sense of humanity to everything he did. Captain Picard stood for the best of us, and so did the man who played him. I was filled with affection and admiration for him and his work,” he said on social media.
Jonathan Frakes, who played Cmdr. William Riker in “Star Trek: The Next Generation” and in “Star Trek: Picard,” wrote on his Instagram Story: “Rest in peace my friend.”
“Star Trek: Picard” executive producer Akiva Goldsman remembered Stewart as “not only a true lion of the profession, he was the rarest of alchemists, one who could literally turn the written word into flesh and blood.”
“Patrick was kind, strong, fiercely intelligent, collaborative, vulnerable and wise. His Captain Jean-Luc Picard permanently expanded the universe of Star Trek without measure. He will be deeply missed by this one fan and by so many more,” Goldsman said in a statement.

Pregnant Savannah Chrisley Marries Jason Galanis in Secret Church Wedding in the Cayman Islands (Exclusive)
NEED TO KNOW
Savannah Chrisley and Jason Galanis are married, per marriage records obtained by PEOPLE
The couple wed in the Cayman Islands on July 14 after a year of dating
Chrisley and Galanis are also expecting their first baby together
Savannah Chrisley and Jason Galanis have tied the knot.
The Chrisley Knows Best alum, 29, and the businessman, 56, secretly tied the knot on Tuesday, July 14, at Cayman Islands Baptist Church, per marriage records obtained by PEOPLE. The couple wed after one year of dating and just two days before Galanis’ birthday.
The couple got engaged in the Cayman Islands five months into their romance in December 2025, Chrisley shared on the Tuesday, Oct. 27, episode of her Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley podcast. Galanis proposed with a massive oval-cut diamond ring that he designed with Genovese Jewelers, a prominent family-owned-and-operated jewelry store based in St. Louis, Missouri.
At the time, Chrisley also revealed on her podcast and in an Instagram post that she and Galanis are expecting their first baby together.
Marriage speculation between the couple sparked when fans noticed Chrisley was wearing a diamond wedding band beneath her engagement ring in close-up photos of the bling posted by the jeweler and a professional photographer.
Chrisley also used careful phrasing online that left her relationship status unclear. Although she spoke about her engagement and used ring emojis in her announcement, she never specifically said that she was currently engaged, nor used the word “fiancé” to refer to Galanis.
Her father, Todd, also didn’t deny marriage rumors when asked about it during his guest appearance on the Thursday, Oct. 29, episode of Bunnie Xo’s Dumb Blonde Podcast.
Chrisley and Galanis began dating in July 2025.
The expectant mother praised Galanis on her podcast, Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley, gushing that they have the “dream relationship.”
“Our relationship as a whole has been absolutely amazing,” she said. “It has been the dream relationship that any woman could hope to be in. There hasn’t been drama and chaos and dysfunction. There has been absolutely none of that.”
In her pregnancy announcement post, she called him her “forever.”
“I’ve prayed for this life. I’ve cried for this life. And there were moments I truly wondered if this life would ever be mine. 🥹🤍,” Chrisley began her caption alongside a video of herself holding a series of ultrasound photos, before the montage switched to show her and Galanis kissing as she perched on a kitchen island and placed a hand on her bare bump.
“The past few years have taken me through fires I never imagined I’d have to walk through. Seasons of heartbreak, loss, and moments when I didn’t know if I would ever make it to the other side. I wondered if I would ever find my forever… if I would ever feel safe enough to truly breathe again. And then God sent me J. 🤍,” Chrisley continued.
“My protector. My fiercest fighter. My most loyal person. My lover. My safe place. A man with the patience of Job (and Lord knows he needs it 🤣). The one who makes me laugh even on my hardest days. For the first time in a long time, I feel safe. I feel fulfilled. I can finally exhale. I found my forever in you. 💍,” she added.
The reality TV star then shared, “And just when I thought my heart couldn’t hold any more love, God gave us our sweetest blessing yet… we’re having a BABY! 🥹👶🏼.”
Adding how caring Galanis has been during her pregnancy, Chrisley continued, “J, watching the way you already love and protect our baby before he/she has even entered this world has made me fall in love with you in an entirely new way. Not a single doctor’s appointment missed. Constantly caring for me, talking about our baby, and reminding me how beautiful my growing bump is. I thank God every day that this baby gets to call you Daddy. 🤍.”
“I once prayed just to make it through another day. Now I get to spend forever with the love of my life, carrying a little miracle we already love more than words,” she continued. “From heartbreak to healing. From surviving to living. From praying for my forever to building a family with him. Only God could have written this story. 😭🤍Here’s to forever, J… and the sweetest little blessing we can’t wait to meet. 💍👶.”
The video also featured a clip of a blanket laid with the ultrasound photos, a onesie, white booties, a stuffed rabbit, the children’s book Guess How Much I Love and a cake iced with the word “Baby.” A clip then appeared of a baking tray covered with icing sugar and a cookie with the words, “Half Baked,” written with a finger, before the video showed Chrisley and Galanis placing a hand on her bump.
At the time, Chrisley did not reveal Galanis’ last name or face, but PEOPLE confirmed his identity later that day.
Galanis is a businessman who was an associate of Hunter Biden and worked with him and his business partner Devon Archer. Galanis was sentenced to 189 months in prison in September 2020 for multiple securities fraud schemes. While he was in prison, Galanis testified in the Republican impeachment inquiry into then-President Joe Biden in March 2024. One year later, President Trump commuted Galanis’ sentence in March 2025.

Chrisley and Galanis plan to host a larger wedding in 2027, a few months later than they originally intended to because of Chrisley’s pregnancy.
“Now, for Jason and I, our wedding was scheduled for Jan. 9 of 2027,” Chrisley said on Unlocked with Savannah Chrisley. “And let me tell you, it was going to be a phenomenal time — it still is going to be a phenomenal time. It has just been pushed a few months to May of 2027, and that is because we got the surprise of a lifetime.”

Skydance TV’s JB Perrette Unveils Leadership Team, Exec Departures
Team,
As you learned from David and Ynon earlier this month, my role in the company is one that purposefully bridges DTC and TV. The industry and consumer behavior continue to evolve at a fast pace, and these two businesses have more cross-over and interconnections than ever. We need to aggressively drive each business forward, while also being attentive to maximize the strategic and financial opportunities between the two, and at the same time be transparent and data-led when there are inevitable trade-offs that need to be decided…make them with speed, and stay clear that our north star is what’s in the best interest of the overall Skydance company (not individual units, countries or other agendas).
To do this, we will have some leaders more dedicated to TV and others to DTC, and many leaders wearing both hats (or more). Our structure will leverage strong local/regional expertise and relationships, and global scale and capabilities…and success will require everyone to make this local and global set-up a powerful network vs. a dreaded matrix. The focus needs to be on collaboration and putting points on the board to ensure we win, rather than who put them on the board. We have a one-of-a-kind portfolio of DTC and TV assets that I’m convinced can work better and more powerfully together, engaging and delighting billions of consumers around the world while also being the cash, profit and revenue growth engine for the company.
The painful part in these transitions is that we have to say goodbye to many talented leaders who have delivered significant value to the prior companies, and more importantly have been great friends, colleagues, and mentors to so many. I want to thank Dan Barnes, Michael Bishara, Jamie Cooke, Domenic DiMeglio, Marco Nobili, Pank Patel and Juan Sola (gracias!) for all they’ve done getting the company to where it is today. Their work has been instrumental to the success of the DTC and/or TV businesses, and I am incredibly grateful for their efforts throughout their impressive tenures. Please join me in wishing them all the best on their next endeavors.
Below is our new leadership team as of today. We have been as thoughtful as possible albeit in a very compressed timeframe. Despite our best efforts, there will undoubtedly be further clarifications and refinements that need to be made particularly within sub-teams that will need to be more specifically re-aligned to this new structure. Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding, and most importantly your help working it through with us in this next phase to make sure we get to the right answer. So, joining the previously announced Jay Askanasi (Advertising), Ray Hopkins (Distribution), and David Decker (Content Sales) to help lead this charge will be (in alphabetical order):
GLOBAL
Jeff Cusson, EVP and Head of Communications, Skydance DTC: As previously announced by Casey, Jeff will lead the communications strategy for the streaming services with a shared reporting line to me, Casey and Mel Zukerman, Chief Communications Officer, Skydance. The international communications teams will hard line into his organization but continue to have a dotted line relationship into the country GM/MD and be part of their leadership team.
Shauna Spenley, CMO, Global DTC and International TV: Shauna will expand her role to include oversight for marketing of International TV, partnering with me and George Cheeks, with all streaming and TV marketing teams internationally hard lining into her organization. This will help make the operations more effective and efficient…but local marketing teams, particularly in larger FTA markets will continue to have a dotted line relationship into the country GM/MD and be part of their leadership team. She will also have a dotted line to Rebecca Mall, CMO, Skydance. Juan Sola’s team, Domenic’s DiMeglio’s team and marketing focused resources in other groups will move into Shauna’s team.
Trey Turner, COO, International: In addition to his responsibilities in Finance, Trey will take on the new role of COO of International reporting to me to help steer and continue to transform the large international portfolio. Moving to Trey’s team will be Pank Patel’s strategy team, Louis Goldstein, Vanessa Brookman, Lee Hobbs and Myriam Lopez-Otazu.
Josh Walker, COO, DTC: Josh will have a dual role of COO, DTC, reporting to me and supporting Casey, and of CFO, DTC, reporting into Dennis Cinelli, CFO, Skydance. As COO, he is responsible for business strategy and planning, content strategy, planning, analysis and acquisitions, pricing, podcasting and project/program management. Moving to Josh’s team will be Rodrigo Mazon and most of Michael Bishara’s team.
Liz Wright, CFO, Skydance TV Segment: Liz will be the chief financial officer for the Skydance TV segment, leading finance for CBS and our global television networks business. In her new role, Liz will partner with George and me for Skydance TV and report into Dennis Cinelli.
Head of Pluto/AVOD: This is a big and important business for us and deserves dedicated leadership to help drive it day in and day out. We will conduct a search for a strong leader of Pluto/AVOD with internal and external candidates, and I will share more as we get through that process. Reporting into this new role will be Olivier Jollet, Will Gurman, and Kevin Kroll, and on an interim basis this team will report to Josh and me.
REGIONAL/LOCAL
Internationally, we will have four regional leaders who will help drive the combined TV and Streaming businesses and will report to me.
These regional leaders and their teams will have direct oversight for distribution, ad sales, business and commercial development across both networks and streaming as well as TV programming in their markets, and will work in partnership with global functional teams above as well as with Jay Askinasi in Advertising, Ray Hopkins in Distribution, and David Berson in Sports (rest assured the common objective is to be pragmatic about what makes sense or where there is value-add…we will work together to clarify further in the coming weeks). These leaders are (in alphabetical order, and to be clear only changes in reporting are listed below the regional leaders not their full teams):
Andrew Georgiou, interim President & MD Europe & Africa will lead Europe & Africa: Andrew will be taking on a new role outside the company next year, but he has offered to help me manage this transition before his departure and as we search for his replacement. Moving to Andrew’s team will be: Alessandro Araimo, MD Southern Europe: responsible for Italy, Spain, France, and will now add Turkey and Africa
Qaisar Rafique, EVP Commercial Development: will be responsible for all distribution and business development in Europe, and oversight for Central and Eastern Europe (excluding Poland)
Reemah Sakaan, President 5 and MD UK & I: will take on leadership for the company’s UK and Ireland entertainment business, including her existing role leading Channel 5
Christina Sulebakk, MD Nordics, Benelux, GSA: will continue to lead the Nordics, Germany, Austria, Switzerland (GSA), and Benelux
James Gibbons, President & MD APAC & MENA will lead Asia Pacific & Middle East and North Africa (APAC & MENA): Moving under James will be Beverley McGarvey, Jason Monteiro, and Shonali Bedi.
Kasia Kieli, President & MD, will lead Poland: Given the unique scale, profile, and breadth (i.e.: entertainment, news, sports, digital, studios) of our leading TV and digital business in this market, Kasia will continue to operate Poland as a more integrated media team.
Fernando Medin, President and MD LATAM/US Hispanic, will lead Latin America and US Hispanic: Moving under Fernando will be Adam Waltuch.
A few other personnel items to share: Leah Hooper, Regional Streaming Lead for Europe, reporting to me is finishing her maternity leave and I’m looking forward to having her back in January; Ronald Goes is moving over to the Skydance TV Studios side of the business under Channing; and Efrain Miron is stepping away from the DTC organization to explore other opportunities within the company. The foundation that’s been set by Efrain’s leadership will continue to benefit the business moving forward.
I know you will likely have questions, and I fully appreciate the continued and unfortunate anxiety and distraction that this process causes. We will continue to work through it as quickly and respectfully as possible. In the meantime, please join me in congratulating this new leadership team…I’m incredibly excited to get going. The leaders announced above will now start working through their respective structures asap. Information will continue to be shared on a timely basis, and your patience, as always, is greatly appreciated.
Thx, JB

Ex Olivier Martinez granted primary custody of Maceo
Halle Berry will remain without primary custody of her 13-year-old son.
A decision has been made in the ongoing legal battle between the actress, 60, and her ex Olivier Martinez after he accused her of physically abusing their son Maceo. On Thursday, Oct, 29, Los Angeles Superior Court judge Shelley Kaufman dismissed Martinez’s request for a domestic violence restraining order, but temporarily denied Berry’s requests for 50/50 custody and overnight visits, USA TODAY confirmed.
The former couple, who split in 2015 after two years of marriage, previously shared joint custody until Martinez, 60, was granted a temporary restraining order earlier this month. At the time, the French actor cited an incident on Sept. 26, during which Berry allegedly “attacked” Maceo by “jumping on him, putting her hands around his neck, and choking him,” per documents obtained by USA TODAY.
Martinez further alleged several prior instances of abuse involving the teen and sought sole legal and physical custody. While Kaufman ultimately rejected a permanent domestic violence restraining order, she ruled that the custody arrangement from the TRO would stay in place pending additional proceedings.
This leaves Berry, who denies all allegations, with joint legal custody, but limited physical custody of Maceo.
In a statement to USA TODAY after the Oct. 29 ruling, Berry’s attorney, Marina Beck, said, “We are extremely pleased that the Court has dissolved the TRO. As we move forward, Halle is determined to continue to focus on the well-being and best interests of her family.”
Martinez’s lawyer, Patrick Baghdaserians, told TMZ that his client having primary physical custody is a “huge victory.”
USA TODAY has reached out to lawyers for Berry and Martinez for comment.
Berry’s attorney Beck previously addressed Martinez’s allegations in an Oct. 1 statement to USA TODAY. Calling Martinez’s filing “entirely meritless and deliberately misleading,” Beck said there is extensive evidence, including previous court rulings, that Berry’s ex repeatedly violated court orders, interfered with their son’s therapeutic and educational care and alleged he has been legally sanctioned for his conduct.”In a way, today’s filing is not entirely unexpected from an individual with a well-documented history of erratic, possessive and violent behavior,” Beck said. “Fortunately, Halle is used to this kind of outrageous conduct from Mr. Martinez and, while she is deeply saddened, she will not allow it to deter her from fighting for Maceo’s best interests and providing him with the love and support he needs.”
Berry and Martinez married in July 2013 and welcomed Maceo later that same year. They filed for divorce in 2015 and it was finalized in 2023 after an eight-year legal battle, with both agreeing to joint legal and physical custody of their son Maceo and for Martinez to receive $8,000 a month in child support.
Halle Berry’s daughter spoke out in support of her mom
The “Catwoman” star also shares 18-year-old daughter Nahla Aubry with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry. Nahla Aubry submitted a written declaration on Oct. 3 in support of her mom, in which she told the court she was “shocked, very sad, and very upset” by Martinez’s claims.
“Having lived with my mom my entire life and having personally observed her relationship with Maceo for years, the allegations are completely inconsistent with the mom I know,” Aubry wrote, calling Berry “a loving and devoted parent” who has “has always encouraged” both her and her brother “to maintain loving relationships with our fathers.”
Aubry accused Martinez of being on “quest to destroy my mom” and said she is “heartbroken” to see Maceo “become the subject of a public dispute that he may not fully understand.”
“Based on my observations throughout Maceo’s life, I believe he loves our mom very much and shares a close bond with her. I have seen him hug her, kiss her, tell her he loves her, seek her comfort, and enjoy spending time with her,” Aubry’s declaration read. “At the same time, I have also witnessed occasions when Maceo has been disrespectful, at times aggressive, and unwilling to follow rules at home.”
She added, “When that occurred, my mom responded the same way she did with me when I was growing up: by enforcing appropriate boundaries and consequences, such as limiting screen time, imposing time-outs, or restricting access to electronics and play dates. I never observed anything abusive about her parenting.”
