Axiom reveals its Prada-designed spacesuit inner layer for NASA – Engadget
The Liquid Cooling and Ventilation Garment will keep astronauts cool on the lunar surface.
With NASA set to go to the moon as part of its Artemis III missions, it tasked Axiom Space and Prada to create new, high-tech spacesuits. We recently saw how they’ll look on the outside with the chic newAxiom Extravehicular Mobility Unit suit. Now, Axiom has showed off the LCVG (Liquid Cooling and Ventilation Garment) inner layer, designed in collaboration with Prada, that will help keep astronauts at a comfortable temperature on the lunar surface.
The LCVG “will be one of the few layers standing between [astronauts] and the unforgiving environment of space,” Axiom wrote. Its job is to remove body heat and expel it into space by circulating water via tubes running throughout the suit across the body’s major muscle groups. It also serves a ventilation function, with separate tubes delivering fresh oxygen to an astronaut’s face to continuously clear exhaled carbon dioxide. Unlike previous spacesuits, the LCVG has a backup cooling circuit if the primary loop fails.
It may sound odd to enlist a haute couture company for a spacesuit design. But Prada does know how to fit garments and brings expertise in “design, pattern making and advanced materials,” the company’s CMO Lorenzo Bertelli said in a statement. Plus, if you’re going to design a new spacesuit from scratch, you might as well make it stylish — provided it doesn’t affect functionality.

9 Surprising Foods You Can Make in Your KitchenAid Stand Mixer
I’ve been an avid cook and baker since childhood and have heard only great things about the KitchenAid stand mixer, but I spent decades believing I didn’t need one. Why purchase a device that costs hundreds of dollars when I have an entire set of kitchen tools, plus my hands, for mixing, whisking and kneading?
But last year, I reached a point of cooking and baking fatigue. And I’ll admit it: I was swayed by watching videos of my favorite chefs and food content creators effortlessly making delicious desserts and more with their KitchenAid mixers. So my partner and I combined our holiday gift cards and purchased a five-quart, tilt-head KitchenAid Artisan Series in the dreamy almond cream color.
I can admit when I’m wrong, and I was wrong about a KitchenAid stand mixer not being worth the cost — especially because I’ve learned that it’s not just for baking. In fact, there are many surprising foods you can make in your KitchenAid mixer to take some effort out of your time in the kitchen.
The idea for this article came to me when I saw TikTok creator Jenna Denise use their KitchenAid mixer to shred chicken for chicken salad. Even though I’m a vegetarian, I did the same with Quorn’s Meatless Diced ChiQin Pieces, and it worked perfectly. After shredding the “chicken” with the included coated flat beater, I added the remaining ingredients and had the KitchenAid mix the entire salad.
Along with shredding chicken on its own, you can use your stand mixer to make chicken salad.
Once I successfully made vegan chicken salad in my KitchenAid mixer, that got me thinking: What about egg salad? Turns out, it works just as well. I simply peel boiled eggs, add them to the mixer, use the flat beater to mash them and then add the rest of the ingredients for a delicious, effortless egg salad.
Using the wire whisk, I whipped 4 cups of heavy cream to make butter in my KitchenAid mixer. Bonus: Once you have your butter, use the flat beater to add different flavors, such as cinnamon and sugar or garlic and herbs.
Using your KitchenAid mixer, you can easily make both butter and buttermilk. All you need is heavy cream.
When you make butter in your KitchenAid mixer, it’s a two-for-one experience because the liquid that forms is buttermilk. Make sure you save this for use in pancakes or biscuits.
Your mixer can be used to shred most cooked, boneless meats, including pork. Simply employ the flat beater to shred your pork for dishes like tacos, sandwiches, soups, nachos and more.
Pork is another type of cooked meat that can be shredded in your mixer.
If you’re not in the mood to mash avocados by hand, your KitchenAid’s flat beater can do that work for you. Add your avocado meat to the mixer to mash, then add the other ingredients for a hands-free guac.
Make mixed-meat dishes like meatballs and meatloaf.
Mashing potatoes can be an arm workout, especially if you want the perfect texture that doesn’t turn into gluey, sticky mash. By letting your mixer’s flat beater mash your potatoes, you can focus on watching them until they reach your ideal fluffy texture.
One of the perks of using a KitchenAid mixer to make food from scratch is knowing exactly what’s going into the dish. The same goes for mayo, which can be made with your mixer’s whisk and only six ingredients: egg yolks, Dijon mustard, vinegar, sunflower oil, salt and pepper. No food processor required.
That’s right — you don’t need a food processor to make homemade mayo.
However, since it doesn’t contain any preservatives like store-bought mayonnaise, just make sure to refrigerate your homemade mayo and use it within four days.

All the Trailers From Xbox Games Showcase 2026
Microsoft had a lot to prove with its Xbox Games Showcase on Sunday. The Xbox maker has had big concerns in the past year, as there are more reports of the console not selling as well as anticipated, especially after the company had to raise the price multiple times. Adding to that, its portfolio of studios isn’t selling as many games as expected, and Xbox Game Pass is costing it a ton of sales.
However, with recent high-profileleadership changesand a business reset following anXbox Game Pass price increase, it seems like Microsoft is course-correcting before a next-gen console is announced. And this showcase was another step in the right direction.
More than 25 trailers were shown in Sunday’s showcase. While there were updates for some live service games, such as Fallout 76 and Sea of Thieves (a tactic that Sony avoided with its State of Play), Microsoft did show off quite a few major titles. Some were exclusive, like Gear of War: E-Day, but others were revealed for the first time in the show and will be available on day one for Game Pass. This will include Persona 6.
Microsoft didn’t have as huge a reveal as Sony had with God of War: Laufey, but it’s clear that the company is leaning into its strengths: big titles that will also be available on Xbox Game Pass at launch. Will it help Microsoft move more consoles or sell more Xbox Game Pass subscriptions? It’s hard to say now, but at least the company is not withering away anytime soon.

Rest Well Tonight With These Expert-Recommended Sleep Headphones
Sound significantly influences your sleep quality — positively or negatively — depending on the scenario. Here are examples of each:
Negative impact: Recent studies have shown that environmental noise (especially cars, city or transportation sounds) can decrease your deep and REM sleep while increasing your awake time. Those annoying extraneous noises keeping you up at night provoke a biological stress response in your body, which is detrimental to your sleep quality. As a result, those who sleep in noisy environments are at greater risk of feeling groggy the next day, often experiencing mood changes, annoyance and decreased brain functioning.
A lack of sleep from sound disturbances at night has long-term health consequences, which is why using a pair of sleep headphones can be beneficial in this scenario. Canceling or blocking out those unwanted sounds can help you fall and stay asleep longer.
Positive impact: Listening to audio for sleep — particularly relaxing music or soundsces — affects our brain and body. Soothing music can shift the focus in your brain from stress-inducing thoughts to a more relaxed state, which helps to lower your heart rate and blood pressure. This makes it easier to fall asleep.
When listening to music at around 60 beats per minute (the same as the average relaxed human heart), “entrainment” can occur when your body synchronizes with its environment (in this case, the beat of the song), which promotes relaxation.
It doesn’t have to be slow-tempo songs; listening to any music you enjoy can release dopamine in the brain, promoting pleasure and reducing stress and anxiety. Adding music or soothing soundsces to your bedtime routine can be a great way to mask unwanted extraneous noises and train your body and brain that it’s time for sleep.

Undead Labs finally shows off State of Decay 3 gameplay in new trailer – Engadget
The game is slated for release in 2027.
It’s been six years since State of Decay 3 was first announced and we finally just got a proper look at some gameplay. A new trailer premiered at Xbox Games Showcase 2026, providing some much needed confirmation that things are moving along toward release. While we didn’t get a firm release date, the trailer reveals State of Decay 3 will be here next year. The game will be available on Xbox, Steam and PlayStation 5.
Here’s what to expect from State of Decay 3: “In a harsh and unpredictable zombie ocalypse, community is survival. Players will build settlements, keep a community of survivors alive, and fight back against a dynamic and encroaching zombie threat as they reclaim a world overrun by blood plague.” It’ll support both solo play and shared world co-op for up to four players, according to Xbox.
The gameplay trailer comes shortly after franchise co-creator Brant Fitzgerald announced that developer Undead Labs would be launching Alpha playtests in May. Players can sign up for that waitlist here. Things are hpening!
