Timothy Busfield Asks Judge to Dismiss Grand Jury Indictment

Timothy Busfield wants his indictment thrown out … telling a judge the prosecutors’ presentation of evidence to the grand jury failed to tell the whole story.
The actor filed papers asking a judge to toss the grand jury indictment because the state of New Mexico has “abdicated its role in administering justice” and is blindly pursuing an indictment against him.
Busfield says prosecutors are well aware of an independent investigation into the allegations against him conducted by Warner Bros. that he says found nothing to back those allegations, a lie detector test Busfield passed in which he said he never inappropriately touched one of the alleged victims, and multiple witness affidavits defending him … but has chosen to ignore all of that.
The star says he decided to testify in his own defense in front of the grand jury … and he claims he was treated unfairly by the prosecutor, who he says treated the appearance like “adversarial cross-examination.”
As you know … Busfield surrendered to authorities in New Mexico in January, several days after a warrant for his arrest was issued — and he was indicted on child sex abuse charges in early February. He has denied all the allegations against him. His wife, fellow actress Melissa Gilbert, has insisted he’s innocent as well.
Our “2 Angry Men” podcast hosts Harvey Levin and Mark Geragos have insisted the prosecutors are out-of-control headline seekers … blasting them for not looking into the criminal conviction on fraud charges by one of the parents connected to the case.

“Milly Alcock is the Perfect Kara”

Is Supergirl going to fly?
The first wave of social media reactions are below for the DC Studios release, which stars Milly Alcock (House of the Dragon) as Kara Zor-El, who sets out to save her beloved dog Krypto. Supergirl also stars Jason Momoa, making his fan-anticipated debut as the antihero Lobo.
The Craig Gillespie-directed film marks another key moment for DC, which last year successfully launched its new creative era under co-chief James Gunn with Superman.
Keeping in mind that social media first reactions to advance screenings always tend to skew at least slightly more positive than a film’s eventual consensus, here’s what influencers, fan bloggers and some critics are saying.
Supergirl opens June 28.
Mike Ryan: “SUPERGIRL is not at all what I was expecting. I, too, assumed ‘superhero space movie with needle drops’ would have a similar tone to GOTG or even Superman. Instead it looks and plays more like a Mad Max movie, with dirty worlds, gross villains and a self destructive hero.”
Gizmodo: “Supergirl is highly enjoyable. It doesn’t quite have the resonance of Superman, but it acts as both a perfect companion and follow-up to that movie with better characters and more complex relationships. It’s also incredibly emotional, which makes the action hit even harder.”
Den of Geek: “Supergirl is the superhero movie I’ve missed: a straightforward, poignant story with lots of emotion, especially when we see Kara through little Ruthye’s eyes. Luckily that’s every action scene. Milly Alcock absolutely owns the role and will change our idea of Supergirl forever.”
The Mary Sue: “SUPERGIRL is everything I wanted it to be. Girls can be messy and that rules! Kara isn’t her cousin and I really loved how this movie makes that clear. She’s a different kind of hero and perfect in every way.”
CineXpress: “SUPERGIRL is a solid follow-up to last summer’s Superman. More serious and emotionally heavier in tone, it delivers a cool intergalactic road trip that evokes Guardians of the Galaxy, with a dash of Mad Max: Fury Road and a bit of Thor: The Dark World. Milly Alcock is a total badass, delivering a performance that’s both fierce and vulnerable as Kara Zor-El. Can’t wait to see her in future interactions with her cousin and other heroes in the DCU. Keep them coming!”
That Hollywood Show: “#Supergirl SOARS! Milly Alcock is the perfect Kara. This film is filled with gorgeous set pieces and dazzling action sequences. Momoa IS LOBO, but I wanted more of him. The scenes with Clark are priceless. Third act is F’N fun. The future is bright with this Supergirl.”
The AU Review: “Supergirl channels the energy of Gunn’s SUPERMAN while carving out its own identity. Surprisingly dark themes, MAD MAX vibes, and a JOHN WICK-style motivation drive the story. Milly Alcock shines, and Jason Momoa brings his trademark chaotic charm.”
The Direct: “Milly Alcock is a Kryptonian powerhouse and the perfect Kara Zor-El. The film has a strong heart, giving an interesting and complex character journey for Kara. Jason Momoa is clearly born to play Lobo, and the DCU is only better with those two now in it.”
Discussing Film: “Milly Alcock steps into the role of #SUPERGIRL wonderfully and it’s refreshing to root for a heroine with a unique hard edge. Unfortunately the film around her takes far too long to step into gear and never quite matches her energy.”
Geeks of Color: “Supergirl is the best blockbuster of the summer! Terrific action but what sells it is the heart and the characters. Milly Alcock is a force to be reckoned with! Eve Ridley is also incredible & Jason Momoa is pitch perfect as Lobo. One of the best DC films!”
Who Let Us Out: “Supergirl starts off as a slow burn, but once it finds its footing, it soars. Milly Alcock is incredibly relatable, bringing heart, vulnerability, and strength to Kara’s journey of embracing her imperfections and discovering the power within. The film balances emotional character growth with some truly epic action sequences, while Jason Momoa’s Lobo is an absolute scene-stealer. He was born to play this role.”

Jason Sudeikis Frustrated With Olivia Wilde Sharing Breakup Convo: ‘Real Story Is Being Overlooked’

Jason Sudeikis is reportedly frustrated after his ex-fiancée, Olivia Wilde, went into detail about the end of their relationship.
During the Wednesday, June 17, episode of Call Her Daddy, Wilde, 42, spoke about a specific conversation she and Sudeikis, 50, had that made her realize their relationship was over.
“Jason and I had been having a rough time for a while. We had a real bumpy, bumpy ride,” the Don’t Worry Darling director told podcast host Alex Cooper.
Wilde went on to explain that on the way home from a birthday celebration for her, she asked the Ted Lasso star if he had gotten her anything for her birthday.
“He said, ‘What would I get you, Olivia? I don’t know you,'” she recalled. “And he wasn’t wrong. We didn’t know each other anymore. That was when we realized it was over.”
However, sources close to the actor told Rob Shuter’s Naughty But Nice Substack on Thursday, June 18, that he felt like Wilde’s version of events left out important context.
“The narrative makes it sound like Jason simply checked out of the relationship,” one source said. “People close to them remember a far more complicated situation.”
Another source said that Sudeikis and “those closest to him feel the real story is being overlooked.”
“From their perspective, everything changed when Olivia fell for Harry [Styles],” the source continued. Wilde and Styles, 32, were in a relationship for nearly two years after meeting on the set of her film, Don’t Worry Darling in 2020 — around the same time she and Sudeikis called it quits.
“Jason has spent years rebuilding his life,” the source added. “He doesn’t understand why old wounds need to be reopened when everyone involved is trying to move on.”
A third source told Naughty But Nice that Sudeikis was initially worried about his kids learning of the former couple’s conversation in the future.
“Jason is incredibly private and was shocked to see this story resurface years later,” the source explained. “His first thought was their children. One day they’ll read these interviews, and that’s what hurts the most.”
The Tron: Legacy actress and Sudeikis first began dating in 2011 and went on to welcome two children – Otis, 12, and Daisy, 9.

Inside Jelly Roll’s ‘sad’ betrayal of Bunnie Xo as ex ‘stood by him through everything’

Jelly Roll’s decision to file for divorce from Bunnie Xo carried a sense of betrayal given everything the podcaster had weathered by her husband’s side over the years.
“The sad part is that Bunnie stood by him through everything,” a source exclusively told Page Six. “She was there before the fame, before all the awards, before his sold out shows. She stayed through some incredibly difficult periods, including challenges that would have ended a lot of marriages.”
“Jelly Roll and Bunnie eventually had to be honest with themselves that they weren’t building the same future anymore,” the insider said.
Still, the source believes there’s a “tremendous amount of love” between the exes.
Reps for Jelly Roll, 41, and Bunnie Xo, 46, did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
A source previously told Page Six that some people around the former couple “felt there was growing tension as Jelly embraced a more faith-centered lifestyle while Bunnie continued building the outspoken and provocative brand that had always been authentic to her.”
“Whether that’s fair or not, it became increasingly difficult to reconcile those two worlds,” the insider said.
In 2018, Bunnie and Jelly briefly separated after the “Son of a Sinner” singer, 41, had a months-long affair.
“When you add in the pressure of fame, constant public scrutiny and then the unresolved issues from the earlier years of their marriage, including trust issues they worked hard to overcome, it created a situation where they kept finding themselves having the same conversations over and over,” the source explained.
It was revealed on Monday that the “Wild Ones” hitmaker, whose real name is Jason Bradley DeFord, filed for divorce from Bunnie on May 18 after almost a decade of marriage.
The legal documents, which were filed in Williamson County, Tennessee, cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for their breakup.
The “Dumb Blonde” podcast host shared a racy image just hours before news broke of Jelly’s divorce filing.
Bunnie shared a steamy photo of herself wearing pink satin lingerie. In the snap, she sat up on her knees on a brown couch as she began to take off her bra strap.
“She’s getting her sparkle back,” she wrote atop the photo.
The following day, a moving truck was spotted outside of their shared residence in Tennessee. It’s unclear at this time as to whose items were being moved from their marital home.
Jelly Roll and Bunnie, whose real name is Alisa Andrea Carter, secretly tied the knot at a Las Vegas courthouse in August 2016 — just one year after the couple met at one of the country singer’s concerts.
They married the same night that Jelly Roll proposed. In 2023, they renewed their vows.
During their relationship, Bunnie served as a stepmother to Jelly Roll’s two children — daughter Bailee Ann, 18, and son Noah Buddy, 9.

‘All My Children’ Alum Dead at 84 After Tragic House Fire

Former soap opera actor Paul Avery and his wife, Sheila Avery, tragically died in a house fire at their home in New Jersey, their daughter confirmed.
“I’m devastated to share that our parents, Paul and Sheila Garry Avery, passed away early this morning,” Kyle Avery shared via Facebook on Tuesday, June 16. “We loved them so much, and they loved us so much, and nobody ever had to wonder if that was so. We’re grateful to the Blairstown Fire Department for their efforts. Service plans to follow.”
Paul — who was 84 years old at the time of his passing — spent two decades in Hollywood, landing guest-starring roles in shows like Soap and Three’s Company. He also had a small part in the original Superman movie in 1978. He later landed a recurring role as Hughie the bartender in All My Children.
In his later years, he worked as executive editor of the Ridge View Echo online newspaper.
“The great thing about living in a small town is that you can actively participate in it,” Avery said during a 2023 profile.
In addition to acting and writing, Avery was an avid skydiver and motorcyclist. He was also a member of the United States National Guard, and spent a year serving as a helicopter crew chief in the Vietnam War.
Paul and Sheila welcomed two daughters, Kyle and Parker, during their marriage.

Judith and Wylie Sheldon found dead in running car on 5 Freeway

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the deaths of a couple whose bodies were found in a running vehicle on the side of the 5 Freeway near Redding earlier this week.
The deceased were identified as Judith and Wylie Sheldon, longtime members of the San Francisco art community who lived in the city’s Pacific Heights neighborhood. Judith was 84 and Wylie was 86.
Around 5:46 p.m. Monday, a CHP officer stopped after seeing a Jeep Compass pulled over on the right shoulder of the 5 north of Fawndale Road. Inside, he found the Sheldons unresponsive.
“A second CHP officer arrived on scene, and both officers rendered medical aid to the parties along with medical personnel,” the agency said in a statement.
The couple was pronounced dead at the scene. A cause of death is still under investigation, authorities said, but it “appears to be medically related.”
The temperatures in Redding that day were above normal, with a high of 109 degrees.
A representative from the National Weather Service told The Times this was “near record-breaking heat.”
The Sheldons spent their lives with other artists, often opening their home for the San Francisco Silent Film Festival, according to reporting from SFGate. Judith was board chair for the festival.
“They were so dear and devoted to one another,” Anita Monga, the artistic director of the San Francisco Silent Film Festival, told the outlet. “I know that being part of San Francisco was very important for them. They were in a position to be supportive of the arts. They raised their family here, and they were such integral parts of the community.”
